I am so thrilled VSL opened a location in the Gulch! I wanted to wait until they'd been open for a while and have repeat visits before giving them a review, but I feel very confident they are a great salon with consistent services. I've been to different techs now and found two that I really like and will go back to. I chipped my basic pedi last week and they fixed it quickly with no charge! They did a ton of promotion for their soft opening and I won a giveaway for a free pedicure, so I also got a gel manicure. I believe I was there on their first day open, so I will avoid the first day jitters and focus on consistency. 1) Parking - there's nothing online about how to park and this is in a very bad parking area (the Gulch). I called prior to to try to get info but it sent me to a call center (or HQ) and they didn't know the details. I paid for parking out front and then was told I could've been validated inside (sigh... I also got a ticket because of the service length going above what I paid for... this was an expensive mani pedi) 2) Thank goodness the pedicure was covered because the gel mani was $57. I thought that was a bit insane compared to what I've had in other areas of town. It might be typical but it didn't feel like it. 3) the service was excellent. I liked the manicurist and she spent a lot of time on the details on my nails and toes and was very gentle the whole time. One of the better pedicure experiences I've had because of this. 4) I loved the color and it was nice to be the first person using the bottle. I didn't see OPI anywhere and that's my go-to, so a little disappointed but tried a new polish because that won't completely deter me. 5) "23 day gel" has lasted a while. I started getting small chips after about a week but that's expected. I still have plenty of color on all my fingers and it's just less than 2 weeks of wear. Overall, this is a nice place and I'd go back for promotions, but without parking info and the higher prices, I'd go to my regular spot. read more

While waiting for my nail tech they had me soak in cold water with no staff around to assist or request an adjustment. Once my nail tech started she was pretty aggressive with my pedicure and cold. I booked the VIP pedicure for my birthday that listed it was in a VIP room lounge. It was not a lounge at all, just a section of the larger room. They are not consistent. PLEASE don't go to this place to overpay for basic and I do mean basic services. Their lack of professionalism is mind blowing. Lady kept getting up and walking away for extended periods of time. A deluxe pedicure with gel takeoff and application is $95. Nothing about my deluxe pedicure was "deluxe." today. She left the hot towels on and walked away for an extended period of time until my towels were so cold. She did not cut my nails down short as requested. She used the heel softening grater tool without asking me if I would like the grater to be used. Some people have sensitive skin or health conditions and they should always ask if someone would like that to be used on them. It seems like a quicker way for her to hurry up the process instead of using the pumice stone. She did not allow me to choose a color from one side of the gel color book they gave me. I had it flipped on one side and selected a purple color and she told me "no" and flipped it to the other side for me to choose so I just ended up going with a basic White polish because at that point I was Beyond irritated. The music was loud. It was not a relaxing atmosphere at all. This is not where you go to relax if you're looking for that type of experience go somewhere else! I tried to talk to the manager about my experience at checkout and she did not show empathy nor does she try to inquire about why I was unhappy with my experience. Prices are not displayed anywhere. My boyfriend and I walked in firs today for a fill, manicure, and 2 pedicures. the staff was very sweet, and attentive. we were sat down in the spa chairs immediately, and offered refreshments. If I could give VSL no stars, I would. I typically don't write reviews or complain, but I was genuinely shocked by my experience here, especially after seeing so many positive reviews online. I discovered this salon through a TikTok recommendation and was excited to try it out--but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The issues began with their customer service. I called in the morning to book two pedicure appointments for my boyfriend and me. From the start, the greeting was unprofessional; instead of a formal "thank you for calling..." or "hello, this is...," I was met with a simple "hello." As we discussed appointment times, I settled on 11:30. However, when we were just a few minutes away from the salon at 11:20, I received a text saying our appointment had been moved to 12. When we arrived, the front desk informed us they didn't have availability and couldn't take us until later, which was frustrating. So we decided to grab a bite to eat and return at noon. Upon returning, the staff seemed disorganized, scrambling to find technicians for us. They seated us, and someone started on my pedicure. After about 15 minutes, I asked the technician how much longer it would be for my boyfriend's pedicure, and she replied, "5 minutes." However, another 37 minutes passed before I had to say something again. By then, my boyfriend was understandably frustrated and decided he no longer wanted the pedicure and left. When I expressed my concerns to the lady managing the front desk, I was met with defensive excuses about it being Election Day and that they only had five technicians available. I reminded them that clear communication would have made all the difference--had we known about the delay, we would have been willing to come back at a more convenient time for them. I also noticed that someone walked in just before us without an appointment, and they were taken straight back for their service, while my boyfriend waited nearly 40 minutes with an appointment. For the price I paid, I expected a much higher level of customer service. They claim to give "luxury service" on their instagram. I also felt rushed during the pedicure, which added to the disappointing experience. Also, my big toes have been in some pain from the technician ripping the sides of my nails off. Pampered us with champagne and put up with a little bit of rowdy. Brand new establishment. Watched the tech clean and sanitize as we were finished. The technicians were wonderful. These are the nails that I paid $90 for. I had a crack the next day, and then a week later, my nail broke. I drive 2 hours away, so I couldn't get it fixed right away, although they did offer to fix the crack. I explained that I couldn't exactly stop by for them to fix it.
