We went in for our consult and worked with Tim. Tim was very easy to work with, shared some thoughts and ideas to consider and helped us create the design and tattoos we were really excited about. Tim sent a final mockup the week before and we made some subtle changes. The morning of Tim met with us to discuss size, placements and final details. Again I really appreciated Tim sharing some ides, thoughts and best practices to ensure we had the best possible end result. In the end, we were VERY happy with our tattoos (my wife's first and my third). This is the best work I have had done to date in a clean, safe, friendly environment. He helped me with ear piercings I had to get redone because they were originally pierced by a teenage idiot (me). He was so professional and didn't make me feel stupid or judged for once being said teenage idiot, truly just wanted to make sure I was taken care of! All in all EVERYONE here is amazing, all the the artists come around and gas up each other while they work and are just always so excited to see people excited and that's rare! I sadly don't know everyone by name yet and haven't had the time to get tattooed by everyone but I definitely plan to because I trust everyone in that building! All of the artists are very talented and really care about the work they do, no half-stepping over here. I received a beautiful semi-traditional moth tattoo from Makile (pronounced like ma-Kyle for when you call to request him) and could not have been happier with the experience. I emailed the shop with some pretty specific ideas about what I would like my tattoo to look like (I've learned to be picky - its on you forever!) and he was entirely accommodating. He incorporated all my ideas and was super nice about my request to re-size it several times to fit in nicely with other work I already have. He took his time laying out supplies and keeping everything super clean and tidy while he worked. When the time came to actually get stabbed with a needle several thousand times in a row, he worked quickly and efficiently, keeping suffering to a minimum. As for the tattoo itself - it turned out better than I had pictured. The lines are smooth and bold, the shading is dark, and the color pops. Beautiful attention to detail! I will also mention that the price was below what I expected to pay, but that was just a bonus. Makile is going to be my go-to guy from now on, 10/10 would absolutely recommend. The dude just knows what he is doing and does it well and with confidence. Zero complaints, and this is coming from a skilled complainer.

Needless to say, covid has really changed the way tattoo parlors/shops operate and a lot of them are booked out extensively. After searching on Google I stumbled across Small Mountain Tattoo. I called the shop and Toni was quick to answer. I was grateful for her enthusiasm and friendliness on the phone as well as her eagerness and excitement to help us set up an appointment that was very last minute. We had some technical difficulties with the photo I emailed her for reference but Toni was very patient and helpful. At one point she had to hand up to check with her artists and see what was available, she called me back promptly and was just as pleasant as before. She set us up with Adam who has an impressive portfolio. He didn't seem upset at the last minute appointment added to his day and drew up a great design that my mom loved! The tattoos were small enough he got them done quickly. But his line work was incredible and he even added in a little bit of shading which was beautiful! Overall our time at the shop was tremendous, they have incredible artists, amazing front desk staff and the studio is beautiful and clean.
