Liquor barn is a liquor superstore with a few locations in the Lousiville Kentucky area. Thai particular location is located in Middletown portion of the city. Liquor barn always has very large sections and the stores are always clean and well stocked. Service at these locations including this one have always been good and friendly to me. Price wise liquor barn is hit our miss. Sometimes on select bourbons they are higher than say a Kroger or Meijer but usually cheaper than local Liquor stores. But even when higher we are talking maybe $5 or so. So nothing to keep you from wanting to browse. I'm a bourbon guy so I usually come here when bourbon hunting new or hard to find bottles. Liquor barn will get some pretty good store picks time to time and I've enjoyed the ones I have purchased here over the years. Overall a solid and nice liquor store. Absolutely serves the purposes it intends to

I love Liquor Barn. Like, SERIOUSLY love Liquor Barn. There are a lot of options for adult beverages in greater Louisville, but after trying many, many options, Liquor Barn shines as my absolute favorite. Each time I walk in the door it's as if the clouds part, the sun shines down on the Craft Beer taps, and a choir of angels sings to me. This location is the closest to my house, which is both good and bad. Good because it's about a 10 minute drive. Bad because it's ONLY a 10 minute drive. :) First up, the aesthetics. You're greeted by the current/seasonal beverages, usually thematically displayed with the current season. This location is newer than the location I used to frequent, and has a very contemporary, comfortable atmosphere without feeling warehouse-y. As you make your way to the Craft Beer counter (or, as I like to call it, Mecca), aisles left and right are stocked with liquors, wines, mixers, party supplies, and just about everything you need for your next adult beverage occasion. Chances are they've got the spirit you're looking for. At the back center of the store is Craft Beer Central. Here you will find a countless variety of craft beers in every style what I'm willing to be is hundreds of craft breweries from all around the country. IPAs. Stouts. Pilsners. Ales. Lagers. SO many to chose from. To one side are shelves of six- and twelve-packs of beers, as well as bombers. There is about a 16-foot section of singles for build-your-own-six-pack evenings (which I tend to favor). Along the back wall are the beer coolers sporting domestics and craft beers in an endless variety to style and flavor. For me, however, the shining star is the growler bar. Here you can pull up a bar stool and sample any one of (I think) 16 different craft beers. The current selections are on the flat screens and there is a printed list as well. You can get 2 oz samples and you can get a full pint (but keep in mind you're limited as to how much you can consume) at varying prices. The 2 oz samples range (on a current visit) from $.75 to $3.00. This is where the fun takes place, because you can sample several in your search for something to fill your growler. The staff at the growler bar is very knowledgeable and helpful, and their guidance has helped me find the right beer during those times that I couldn't make up my mind because of what I'm going to call "Craft beer decision overload". Eventually I always walk out with either a mix-my-own-six or a growler of something I haven't had before, and I always walk out knowing I made a good decision (if buying beer for a Friday night can be labeled a "good decision") and that I'll like what I'm taking home. (geez...this review makes me sound like a raging lush, but that's not the case at all. I'm just very selective about what I drink on Friday nights, and Liquor Barn helps lead me down the path to better drinking.) Suffice it to say, Amazing selection, Helpful staff, and more Craft Beer than anywhere else in town. (this is an unsubstantiated claim, but could quite possibly be the truth.)

Nah, I'm done with their online ordering. I *knew* after the second follow-up call that something was not right. I got suspicious that they brought me the wrong soju because they were out of what I ordered. So, I guess they figured they would just give me this, and I would be none the wiser..yea ok.. Should have just told me from the start, and then they expected me to come in to return them. No, you come get them from me. You charge $5 for delivery and I only live right across the street. See, I hate when companies pull this crap..Not to mention that my beer was banged up so now I'm just pissed off altogether tonight.

Thank you Liquor Barn for carrying my favorite brand!!

How fortunate I am to live within 3 miles of this amazing mecca of all things alcohol!! I am amazed at the plethora of options and sheer genius that is the store layout. I love wines from Oregon and particularly those from the Willamette Valley area. One of my particular favorite are the wines from A to Z Wineworks, a certified green, biodynamic and sustainable winery. They offer superior, budget-friendly, award winning wines that I dearly love. I had trouble finding them in Louisville, but guess where I found them!!?? You guessed it, Liquor Barn!!! This girl is a happy camper! Go visit Liquor Barn! Allow plenty of time to roam the aisles, visit the growler bar, and silently wish that your liver would allow you to try everything in the store without giving you grief!

This is a shiny new liquor barn right next to hobby lobby on shelbyville rd. The wine selection is extensive as is the beer selection. They have quite a few beers on tap to sample or to go in growlers. The bourbon selection is also quite impressive. Unfortunately no deli at this locale. A few packaged meats and cheeses is about it. A few hot sauces, not a lot of groceries. Nice clean layout.

This was my first time at this location. I've been to their other stores and they are all nice. They have everything I need as far as beer and wine but, the prices are somewhat higher than the new competitor that opened recently. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to match.

Certainly one of the best options for a wide breath of bourbon, wine and many other great options. The prices are fairly competitive, and they will match ANY price if you have picture or ad proof, including Costco! This is something I really love about them. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful on a consistent basis, which goes a really long way for me. Lastly I enjoy their bourbon releases most of all. They have great communication with customers through email to inform you ahead of time of any special releases.

This place seems to pretty much have it all. So if you're looking for something hard to find, I'd give it a shot.

Great place to shop and do a beer tasting. Thursday and Friday evenings are best with Group of fellow drinkers to compare our taste buds!

If you find yourself lollygagging around the store, odds are you're going to bump into someone/something and no one is going to be happy about it. There's, likely, a rhyme and reason to the organization but I didn't discern it. That means that you shouldn't come here if you're looking for the perfect bottle but you're short on time. Come here, when you have a second to wander (not, lollygag) and explore the options. Again, not a big space but there's a nice quantity and selection if you take the time to look for it. The folks at the counter are helpful but they're busy. If you need something, you may have to wait for a bit. Know this. If they ask you if you need help, say yes. You won't get asked again. This isn't an issue of being rude. It's an issue of having stuff to do. They keep it moving. I dig that. I tend to enjoy a relaxed (lollygagged) booze shopping experience, so SSBS will probably never be my go-to, but it's not at all a bad place to shop. Just follow the rules I laid out and all will be well. Oh, I saved the best part of this place for last: there's a drive-thru!

I hate writing reviews of places without all the information available for your consideration/consumption. I'd driven past this older white house for years. Over the years, there have been many neon signs outside of it but I never felt compelled to stop in. On my way to a dinner party at a friends' house, I decided to detour from my go-to wine & spirits shop in this part of town and try something new. I believe I found a replacement. Zora's has a large parking lot, ample selection and lots of charm. As Louisville/Jefferson County business/residence creeps ever closer to Shelby County, stores like Zora's become more and more necessary. After dropping $x on a mini-manse, you can't expect folks to travel into the city limits for some vino. US 60E has needs. The night I stopped in, I chatted with the proprietress (Zora?). She asked me what I was looking for and my price point. At that time, I hadn't come up with my sure-fire wine system but I told her the crowd, the situation and how much I wanted to spend. She directed me to a Fat Bastard Cab (towards the upper end of what it should go for, price-wise; the wine was drinkable and inoffensive for a casual dinner party with good friends) and a Three Winds Syrah (the better of the two by far; great price point, very popular with food and just drinking; palatable for red lovers of all kinds - ie fruity & spicy with a round finish). She (I'm just going to call her 'Zora') knew her way around all the product, was very easy to talk to and offered great suggestions for future buys. For the majority of my time there, I was the only customer but by the time I left, a few other people walked in. Eastwood, Boston, Long Run, Fisherville... you have a nice place at which to buy booze.* *Lookit Louisville with all these neighborhoods. I love it. I remember when Jefferson County/Louisville neighborhoods = subdivisions.
