As any frequent reviewer of my posts know, I like to periodically (annually) re-review my reviews as things can change. Sometimes businesses close, get bad, or sometimes, better. This is one of those posts as we've been back here a few more times since my original post. Yes, I know I've been bad about checking in, but I just had a son, so I've been a bit busy. Plus, since the Pandemic, we've been getting deliveries from here more than actually picking stuff up. Liquor Junction is open during this Pandemic as they are an essential service provider because keeping you liquored up is essential! This place has everything you need to make the household happy: whiskey and red wine. Well, they have other stuff that we dabble in like cigars, beers, and assorted liquors and wines. This is a pretty normal liquor store, not the fanciest digs, and maybe a bit bigger than your average corner liquor store. The selection is great. As an avid wine aficionado, I have been happily surprised by the selection and found several bottles that I've never encountered, including a Tempranillo I had never seen before. I love Tempranillos! Would I go back? Sure. The parking lot is wonky because it is in a cluster of a shopping center, but it's a nice little oasis. Plenty of places to park. Would I recommend this place? Yes. I would not recommend driving a long distance, unless they are holding an event, but if you're close, this should be your go-to spot. read more

Their website said they carried a certain product, but since it was a 30 minute drive I called to double check. Person who picked up the phone double checked for me, confirmed they had it. I drove there to find out they didn't have it and they suggested I buy something else. read more

First time here and I Just got yelled at by a staff member because I entered the freezer area through the wrong entrance (mind you there was NOT a sign saying "do not enter" or "employee entrance only". A simple "hey this is for employees only" would suffice. Instead, I got "what are you doing in MY freezer?!" Everyone has bad days. Never okay to take it out on a customer. read more

Huge, beautiful, and great convenient location. Ahhhh but how many customers are lost for lack of a man who's willing to do a good job. The store was very quiet and I needed 8 cases of Svedka vodka. I walked up and said 'Hi! I want to buy some vodka' The guys behind the counter stared at me like I was a homeless bum who just asked to use the bathroom. In the awkward silence I repeated, 'Svedka? .... y-you guys don't know what Svedka vodka is?' 'Yeah.' one replied. I said ' Ah ok, I need 8 cases' to which he reasonably replied 'I'm not sure we have it' and I said 'ok if you have other than Svedka back there I'm willing to swap brands.' He checked and when I came back up front he simply said 'Nope.' I looked at him waiting for more but just got silence. I made an exaggerated shrug and started to put my wines on the counter. Since they were just standing around, I couldn't help but say, nicely, 'I'm surprised you don't have cases of Svedka vodka.' then 'AND I'm surprised you didn't offer to order them for me.' He mumbled something about 'you can leave your number' but at that point I was already imagining a some other different liquor store, maybe somewhere nearby, with men who appreciate my business, who treat me with respect, who smile and happily say things like '8 cases!!!?? Wow, that's great! You're a customer I WANT! I don't have it now but this is important to me I'm going to make sure you get it as soon as possible, does that work for you, sir?" read more

Great selection and amazing prices! Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and they have excellent customer service.

I've had some problems coming here recently. I've stopped in a couple times recently for my go-to (6pack of Budweiser bottles) and have gotten beer that's almost 9 months out of code (expired). I don't realize until I get home and open a skunked beer. Mentioned this to an employee as I was leaving last time, to go to another store to buy fresher beer, and it didn't seem to surprise him. I actually went to their Woburn location and had a similar experience. That being said, this is no longer my go-to store. I don't want to have to check the expiration date on my beer when I buy it. If something as common as Budweiser is expired, I'm very skeptical of everything else they're selling. read more

Stay away from this location! the Staff: cashier and manger are atrocious. On my last purchase I spent over a $100 only to turn around and return the order because they are beyond rude. I spent more money the next day for a Total wine delivery to avoid the rudeness of this staff. I tried to bring it to their attention, but they don't care. I stock my bar with their best bourbons, wine and tequila and spent quite a bit with them, but that's ok: Liquor Junction's loss is Total Wines gain. Never had a problem with their Woburn location but it's not worth the headache. And to be fair, I tried to express to my concern with them directly, but they don't care. Wow. Just wow. This store is very unassuming but they are stocked. It's huge. Best collection of Irish I've seen anywhere. The whisky/bourbon section is immense. The wine section is truly awesome. Big box stores want you to think you have to go somewhere like that to get what you want. Liquor Junction has soòoo many varieties and cool stuff. I'm impressed. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My boyfriend, nephew and I went here to grab some alcohol and was approached by a gentleman who was very rude & looked at my boyfriend and said "Are you even 21?" After my boyfriend politely said he was the gentleman said "Ha yeah okay I need some id so I can then escort you out" VERY very rude. Never again read more

Best Wine shop in the area. Vast selection, great emphasis on pacific North West U.S. Bob, the wine manager knows his juice and can accommodate pretty much any request. Tasting machines in the back help to try before you buy. Always running. The craft beer selection is pretty huge and managed by the proprietor Brett. Belgium, New England, whatever floats your boat - they've got it covered, or will order it for you. Boutique brands of liquor are stocked as well. Lots of cool bourbon, scotch, etc from all over. Unlikely to find mass produced swill. Loads of parking and right next to Market Basket. Perfect for loading up on supplies for the weekend. 2 corks up. read more

Fantastic beer selection (like a kid on Christmas Day). Wine and spirits are decent too. But the issue killer feature? The prices... Can't beat them. Good group of people working there and the owner is ever present. read more

PLEASE NOTE: There is some confusion in the earlier reviews... While there was another liquor store nearby called the "Wine Bunker," the Liquor Junction is not affiliated with this store. Liquor Junction is a brand new store with new owners. It opened in July 2014, so any reviews earlier than this date are referring to the Wine Bunker. That said, the Liquor Junction is SOOO much better! Liquor Junction offers one of the largest selections of craft beers I've seen on the North Shore -- from hundreds of bomber bottles to hard-to-find selections from around the world. While I have found some of the more common beers slightly less expensive at other stores, this is the place to experience new brews. While they've only been open a few months now, I've found the owners to be very nice and knowledgable about what they offer. In addition, they often plan craft brew tastings to bring in new customers (nothing like tasting 8-10 craft brews for free)! While I've spoken a lot about their craft brew selection, Liquor Junction also offers a wide selection of wines...from your typical Gallo and Berringer, to the finest of wines from California, Europe and Australia. As others have said, the store is tucked away in an odd setting next to the Market Basket in Reading. Once the Market Basket debacle is over, I have a feeling that this will become a key liquor store for many in the Reading/North Reading/Woburn area. Go check it out! I guess this place used to be called The Wine Bunker. Well, I went in yesterday and can tell you it could easily be renamed The Beer Bunker. Super large store, with so many choices! If the Market Basket directly next to it eventually returns to normal, I am certain this place will have a better chance of surviving for the long haul. There is nothing else around here, so I am fairly certain that the store was strategically placed next to MB for the extra draw of grocery shoppers. read more

Absolutely the best selection of wines in the area. Tucked away behind Market Basket and next to K&G, The Wine Bunker stocks wines from Argentina to Yugoslavia. Prices range from less that ten dollors to bottles in the thousands. I love the wine selection from Argentina. Having spent lots of business time in that country, I've grown to love the Mendoza Valley wines. WB has a full rack and a tremendous range of wines from that area. A wine tasting last Saturday, with a jazz trio to boot, brought out the crowds and WB had some great pricing to go along with the tastiing. If you can't find a wine to your liking here, you'll never find one. read more

The Northeast needed a place like this. Large store with huge variety in everything. From high end scotch and wines to you basic beers they have it all. Locations are a bit out of the way for those not in the area but I'm sure that helps keep lease cost low b read more

Yes, the new reviews are correct. Liquor Junction is not the same as the former store Wine Bunker, and not in the same location but further down the plaza. It's also FAR BETTER. Amazing selection of wines and by far the largest selection of beers I have ever seen in one store. As in, hundreds. They order in for you as well if they don't have it. Tremendously nice staff, too. I love this place! I went to the Boston Wine Expo to discover new Pinotage from South Africa and Nero D'avolas from Italy. Not too many stores in the area carry these but the Wine Bunker has plenty of both! The store is spacious and clearly marked with large signs of the wine's country of origin. I love this place. Great prices and almost anything you want. Beer, wine and hard liqour. They have cigars as well.

As others have said it is an odd location. But there is plenty of parking and easy to get to. The selection of craft beers and wine is impressive. The selection is broader than any store in the region. Prices are good. I have two minor gripes though. First, the automatic deposit machine rejects some beer bottles, probably ones they don't carry. This is annoying as you end up walking out with some empties. Not very good customer service, in my opinion. Second, the heavy metal music that is blasting isn't particularly pleasant to these ears. No one was more excited about this place than me. I had even filled out a town survey saying it was a necessity to allow them to come in. I was so thrilled when it opened and to be honest the wines are great and the selection is amazing. I just have the worst time there. Their customer service is so bad it's like they want you to leave and not bother them. I would be very happy to be proven wrong and that the customer service received during my dozen visits has been a fluke but the two guys who work there on Friday nights do not welcome you to the store, do not offer to help or answer any questions and really seem put out that you are interrupting their beer drinking and sports updates. They do not treat everyone like a valued customer and maybe that just depends on whether the person is buying a $15 bottle, a case or one of the more expensive options. Really I love the wine but I not only don't like the way this place feels, I dread going there. Which is heart breaking for me considering how much I love a good bottle of wine and having a place like that in town and more so for them because, frankly, I buy a lot of wine and a lot of friends in the area who do too. This is a really great place, huge selection of adult beverages. I found so many local distillery offerings on liquor like Billy Goat Whisky. The process seem competitive with the local competition. This is tucked away and it takes some eyes to catch it. read more

Liquor Junction in Reading has a vast selection of wine, beer, liquor and the biggest selection of craft beer I have seen in the area. The prices are the best in Reading or surrounding towns and better than I have found at the NH state liquor store! I highly recommend. And if they do not carry a specific wine or champagne, prosecco, etc. they will order for you. read more

I put together a local labor day party which included a lot of out of town guests with various taste in wines. The Wine Manager pulled 24 bottles together from Washington, Argentina, and South Africa which created quite a differnet mix from the Yellow Tail and Barefoot crap at Packy's. I saw these reviews here and decided to place an order with them. I called them, the first time I got what seemed to be a fax machine. A little after I called again and got someone on the other end. I asked him about the wine I was looking for and he told that I needed to place the order online which I did and entered my credit card info etc. I received an automated email response to the order. After 5 days with no other communication, I called them again and the same thing with the fax line. Retried later and finally got someone. I inquired about my online order and was informed that the online system has been down for weeks and that it s not working. Unless you go there yourself, stay away from this place. read more

Liquor Junction has become my "go to" store for all my alcohol needs. The prices are fair and the beer selection is quite robust. What keeps me coming back here, though, are the knowledgeable employees. They know a lot about their products and where they're distributed, so I have a good idea of local beers to get when visiting friends out of state. All recipients have been quite pleased with the beer and wine recommendations, which of course makes me look sophisticated. Quite a few liquor stores are staffed by people who know f*** all about booze, but you can't go wrong here. read more

Do not use this place, especially if you want to order wine. I ordered wine on line, received a confirming email and when I dropped by the store to see when I could expect delivery was told in a condescending manner that the website didn't work and I shouldn't have ordered from there. I had to convince the person to order the wine for me, and he told me the wine guy would call me back at the end of a week. That was over a month ago. I have tried calling three times, with no response. Their customer service is atrocious. On the few times I have been in the store, no one has EVER come over to see if they could help find anything for me, suggest a wine, etc. There are too many wine stores in the region to patronize, this one does not deserve your business. read more

I believe this used to be the Wine Bunker... but now they have re-located to a better spot in the parking lot with more parking and most importantly: MORE ALCOHOL. I came in here the other day and was quite impressed. The store is HUGE, and their prices for bottles of vodka and Jack Daniels were a couple of dollars cheaper than other stores in Reading. read more

Amazing wine and spirits selection. The absolute BEST BEER selection maybe in the state. Looks like they take on anything and everything, and they buy right so their prices are super awesome. Worth the drive if your within 100 miles. Beer Manager is awesome, guy works non stop and is super knowledgeable, rest of staff is on point and ready to help. read more

They had a Grand Luxury Tasting this past weekend (12/13/14) and it was very nice. This store is so amazing - the quantity of beer and wines is outstanding. It looks like it will be a really tiny place from the outside, but when you walk through the door WOW. It is really big. The people are so nice and the prices are very very good. read more

The best wine selection ever!! I love not only going to the bunker for their incredible wine selection, but the folks who work there are top notch. They are always happy to help me find a great bottle. I generally like to spend about $20 a bottle and they have what feels like an infinite selection in this price range. Part of my Friday routine is to stop in after work and pick up a few bottles for the week, and the guys there remember me by name! Hard to find knowledgeable, friendly people at a wine shop, but the Bunker seems to have them! read more

The liquor Junction boasts the largest selection of craft beers I have ever seen assembled in one place. They are sorted by region and country of origin. Many can be purchased in 12 packs. Their wine selection is also large and unique, and if you need help choosing which I'm certain you will there's always somebody friendly and cheerful to help out.I hope the community supports this suburban rarity. read more

Had this review been a couple of weeks ago, it would have been at least four stars, but unfortunately, something happened that absolutely turned me off from this store. Since discovering this store only a few months ago, my wife and I have bought a few cases worth of wine there. Unfortunately in the last batch of wines we purchased, we discovered one bottle was "corked". This is only the second time we have ever come across a bad bottle of wine in 10+ years of drinking wine together. It was a label and variety that we've had before and enjoyed so we knew immediately that it was off. In addition, the cork itself shows a strange bulbous mass at the end. Clearly something not right. We saved the cork and the wine as we've been instructed to by other wine stores. However, when I attempted to return the bottle I was told they do not accept returns for any reason. The store employee did not bother to look at the cork, smell or taste the wine, just a flat out, no. Before this happened and after, I've checked at other wine sellers and they have all said they will take back the odd corked bottle and the distributor and/or vineyard would typically cover the loss. I do not understand the Wine Bunker's policy, but unfortunately we can not support a business with such poor customer service. It's too bad, because otherwise we've really enjoyed the selection and competitive prices. read more
