Rude staff, inflated prices higher then other liquor stores, small selection of snacks and drinks, and watch out for expired stuff on the shelf. One time I got some orange juice and didnt notice how brown it was till I got home. It was months expired. Another time I picked up some onion rings, was going to get ringed up but then noticed the expiration date was over a year expired and pointed it out. The guy behind the counter just gave me the I dont care shrug. I walked in once and right away the guy yelled "your card got declined, you pay now!" I was confused and told him I didnt buy anything yet. He said its from earlier that week and told me to check my phone for charges. It showed it was charged and pending but he said that isnt the right date. I explained to him sometimes it wont post the charge right away on the same day and this is the transaction still pending and not declined. He was just staring at it and scrolling through all my other charges without a response over a lousy $12 or something so I just took my phone back and and told him ill just come back when it clears. Theres this new clerk with buldgy eyes that looks at me everytime I walk in like im about to shop lift or something although I purchased from him many times before. You say hi and he wont say hi back and just give you that unfriendly wary stare. Maybe I'm wrong and its a culture thing but it makes me uncomfortable. The last time I went in my samsung pay on my phone keeps getting rejected with a try again screen on his processor and he keeps screaming "Decline! Decline! Decline!" in a really irritated voice rolling his eyes every time I tried another card while there was a customer behind me. I told him its not declined, I think theres something wrong with your system and he rolls his eyes again very pissed off. So I left and drove to Deep Liquor instead. It did the same thing and I think the owner knows his credit card processor isnt working properly at the moment so he told me just pay him another day because i go there sometimes and he knows me. Liquor King is on my way home and more convenient but ill just go to Deep Liquior for now on. Usually go to JRs store for my refreshing beverages but the traffic took me to this store instead. Bought 2 2 liters of soda and found out one was expired 1.5 years ago as I checked the Best Buy label because it tasted funny. Went to buy some little alcohol as gifts for a groomsmen gift and the cashier was absolutely RUDE. I am so angry we spent and wasted our money here. I asked how much something was and he pointed at the electronic sign with an attitude instead of speaking to me. This was the worst customer service we've gotten in a long time. We will NEVER be back. Oh, and their prices are 3x's more expensive than any other store nearby. Literally. The first warning is that nothing has a price on it, nothing, and they are evasive when asked. Was not about to spend $11 on a bottle of Sutter Home Chardonay that every other liquor store in town has for $4.99 and then have the guy there tell me it's $10 everywhere. We put our items back, explained the issues and repurchased EXACTLY what we originally wanted at JR's (Great place and service) for 40% less and it was a simple pleasurable experience. DID NOT park on any of their slots, as I waited for my friend to pick up the order - less than 5 minutes literally. Unluckily for me, I was on "their" side. It's Halloween, and I'm trying to buy some beer for the home party, as well as picking up some food from the restaurant on opposite side. I just parked and about to walk out, then suddenly a lady, like middle easterner came out from the back door of the liquor store pretending as the owner and said "you cannot park here if you order the food on (Hongkong BBQ restaurant) opposite" with the loud and impolite voice, it was no parking on this side (the restaurant) so I just park on the liquor side, anyway I'm going to buy something in the liquor store after or before I pick up the food. I explained but she seemed mad and uncomfortable. Fine, you are NOT the only liquor around! I'm their customer and they not letting me park on their parking because of the selfish for sharing parking with the restaurant ( I know sometimes the restaurant runs more customers than the liquor), but some time people are seriously and intentionally trying to shop on both store, so they have to move between those two parking side?. On the left there are 2 tables and chairs where people can scratch your tickets when you feeling the scratching fever coming on. Their drinking selection is great! This place is a joke. The owner is so worried about people parking in his spaces and going over to the Chinese restaurant next door that he will give up business. I parked in his space, left me wife and kids in the car, and walked in to buy lottery tickets. Obviously I wasn't going to the restaurant next door cuz everyone stayed in the car. This place is more concerned about there parking rather than if the customer wants to shop with them. When he handed the woman the money she said no I can't do that I have no change. Jesse was obviously confused this is her business she owns the store how can she not be able to sell him something. So he said Do I need to buy more so you can break the 20$ thinking If he spent 5$ she would be able to break the 20$ she automatically got rude and said another woman gave her a problem earlier that day for the same thing. Wanting to buy something with a 20$ bill. He said well that's your business you are supposed to be able to sell things. The woman became agitated and said you get out now go away. And kept talking about some-other woman. He didn't understand why she kept bringing her up. The cashier said are you her brother or something. So the other woman must have been African American as well. Finally he just left bothered about how rude she was. When he told me what happened I said I would go in that makes no sense. I would lose 11 cents so I didn't mind, she explained to me why. Then she said as she tried to do the math of giving me 16$ she was frazzled from the last customer who gave her a hard time. I said the man that just walked out? That is my daughters father and he was trying to buy me this same candy so why wouldn't you sell it to him. I see you have change? And in a blink of an eye she started yelling calling me a bitch and I stayed calm but got extremely stern I said it's unacceptable you treated him that way and lied to him. You have change and she said he only wanted to spend 1$ how can I give him change back. I said you could have done exactly what you just did rounded down a dollar. If he spent 1.25 just give him back 18$, he was even willing to buy more to make it easier on you if he had to but you lied and said you had zero change and that's wrong what you did and seems like you treated him that way because of how he looked because you were fine to me and treated me with respect. I said we will never come back here. The poor man behind me in line was also black and had no clue what was going on. I watched him try to buy a black and mild. She tried to buy something for $1.10. The man before her in line was an older Indian gentleman who bought something with cash and got change back as he walked out. She said she saw there was change in the register. When it was her turn the woman treated her exactly how she treated Jesse. My friend tried to buy something for $1.10 so she handed the woman $20.10. Her change should have been an even $19. No coins were needed at all. The cashier no i can't I have no change. So she also tried to corporate with her. My friend had asked well how much do I need to spend so you can break my 20$. The woman became enraged and said noyou get out I won't do it. Just leave you bitch. My friend said excuse me why I saw you have the change and gave it to the man before me. and again she threatened to call the police. The only liquor store I've found so far with a respectable selection of microbrews. Good selection of North Coast. They appear to be to the Bay Area as Stone is to San Diego. There are about 5 Stones there but they are a bit over-priced. Several Belgians including the Unibroue series which I highly recommend. read more
