I had order food delivery. It was delivered ahead of schedule, hot and followed instructions. Kudos to the delivery person. The order consists of spaghetti and meatball and calamari fritte. The calamari was hot and crispy and especially nice when dipped in the tartar or cocktail sauce. Included with the food was a French bread and olive oil, balsamic vinegar and peppers. I've passed this restaurant 1000 times and I always tell my husband I wanna try it so we finally went in one late Friday evening. We were actually the only sit-down customers (there were a few pick up orders that came in). The service was very friendly and attentive-ready to refill our waters the second we finished! We also got yummy complimentary foccacia with dipping oil. The menu is straightforward-a lot of your typical pastas and entrées, there were some delicious sounding appetizers also but it wasn't an appetizer kind of night for us on this night. This is definitely a new gem of a Italian restaurant that we found on yelp. We had a party of eight people and it was fantastic spacing for a large group and we didn't feel packed in at all. The service was fantastic and warm. I had an amazing lobster ravioli, as well as my daughter and it was really delicious as they cooked the ravioli perfectly al dente. My wife who is generally a picky eater had the chicken Parmesan, and we tried the pasta with clam and white sauce, which was also very good. I know the next time I go to an Italian restaurant. First, I was shocked that it was empty and that no one came in while my two girlfriends and I had a leisurely lunch and caught up on each other's lives. The food here was very tasty but I felt like it wasn't quite Italian food, more like Italian and Mexican fusion. Our server was attentive and incredibly nice. My dad and I started with minestrone soups that were pretty amazing. My dad got a sausage based pasta dish and I got shrimp in a weird cream based sauce. Like I said, everything was tasty but it didn't seem authenticly Italian. I also think the same (delicious) red sauce might have been used for the soup and the pasta. I grew up in New York (where there is a lot of wonderful Italian food) and I've been to Italy several times but I'd never had dishes prepared in this way before. I've never been to *Northern* Italy, where Parma is, so maybe it's a regional thing. Our server offered fresh shredded cheese to add to all of our dishes. She called it parmesan but it looked and tasted more like mozzarella or havarti. I was a little weirded out that she held the block of cheese in a plastic bag and used a regular kitchen shredder to shed it on to our plates. It was hygienic and effective but terrible presentation for such a pretty restaurant. The restaurant was very clean with ample seating. When we arrived for lunch we were the only table. Eventually one other family showed up before we left. The restaurant played great oldies music, my dad sang along to most everything, and it seemed like they had a stage set up for karaoke. All in all we had a pleasant and informal meal that felt like we were eating Italian dishes prepared by a family member (we are not Italian btw). I understand prices have gone up for certain things especially fish but this was Unacceptable. I ordered a calamari appetizer because the photos of the dish that were advertised online for this restaurant looked delicious. With a total coming out to 20 dollars (with no receipt) I thought it was worth it because what they advertised looked so good. When I got home, there were nothing but the smallest little rights that were over cooked. The tartar sauce was terrible, and it baffled me how I had paid 20 bucks for a dish that wasn't even worth 15. It had a dark ambiance, and no one was in there. Now I understand why. And you would think that they should have been busy on a weekend evening. Lying to your customer base, and selling food without providing an order check so that the customer can see the actual price, is bad for business. On a Friday night, there were plenty of seats available and was seated immediately. The only challenge was parking. The stupid Hayward Loop makes it more difficult to figure out parking when you drive past the restaurant. I haven't had Italian food in a long time, so, this was such a treat! I was looking for a restaurant with a cozy feel on a cold December evening, and glad we tried them. Christmas music was playing, the decorations were festive, and we enjoyed our food and service.
