Racist. I was standing in line behind people of color. They purchased over $700 worth of liquor. As they were wrapping up, putting their purchases in boxes and slightly out of ear shot, the clerk said "Now get the hell out of my store" I was perplexed. Waited until they were out of ear shot and asked again what did you say? He repeated the same statement. I said why would you say that. "They are ignorant, they were rude, I will take their money, but get the hell out of my store." I didn't say anything else. I happen to be parked next to the car the client were in. They were still loading their large purchase when I got in my vehicle. I rolled down my window and told them what the clerk said and recommended they don't give them any future business because they don't deserve to be treated that way. I was appalled at the clerk's behavior and will also take my business elsewhere. read more

WARNING: This liquor store hoards liquor to distribute to special friends and liquor stores. They do not equally sell to their patrons. At 6:30 on 2/18/23, I went to Liquor World to purchase Blantons. OLCC website indicated 6 available bottles. At 6:52, the website still indicated 6 bottles. The manager turned me away and told me that they were not available and asked to see the website. After showing him, his response was, "We're out." Lots of variety great selection I purchased a new to me Russian import bottle of vodka called Hammer and Sickle mind you never had vodka before always been more of a whiskey guy. I have been in lightened. Upon entering they had a vender offering samples of there new product on the shelf which was actually quite good was able to sample and connect with the rep and enjoy a friendly conversation on entrepreneurship. Upon gazing at the bottle selections I couldn't help but choose the bottle I chose I went to the counter and made my purchase was very happy with the service here nice friendly and professional. Stopped in looking for bitters, which not all liquor stores carry, there were three people working the counter so someone was almost immediately helping me. He knew exactly where bitters was, rung me up and I was gone. On a personal note, I don't like liquor stores. It always seems like something might be about to go down. Uhh...the lady at the counter persuaded me that 1800 Reposado was "great" tequila. It should have been hint enough when she told me that Jose Cuervo was also good tequila. Shit. Great selection of liquor and prices are reasonable if they honor the price. I've been into this store several times. They run specials with big pink display signs. However, they do not honor the special price. I was buying several bottles of different liquor. Front of the store Nobel Rye Whiskey big display sign $31.99. Got to the register and my total seemed high so I asked to see prices being charged. They don't have a customer display so they must turn the computer screen. They were charging me $42.99 for the Nobel Rye Whiskey. I showed them the sign and they blamed Oregon Liquor authority for the price difference saying they have no control. According to OLC this was not true. The store posted that sign knowing full well that most people won't notice that they are being over charged. I didn't purchase the Nobel Rye but I did file a complaint with the OLC. Maybe they will be inspired to change register and display prices to the customer. Don't trust the prices displayed, instead get your calculator out and know what you should be charged. read more

Just the best! When we heard that a favorite brand of vodka wasn't going to be available any longer because the distillery was closing, we searched and finally found several bottles at Liquor World - but it was going fast because word had gotten out. In a call to the store, Kyle (the manager) promised to put aside the last five remaining bottles for us even though we couldn't make the long trip to the store until the weekend. When we got there, true to his word, the five bottles had been put aside in the back room for us. What great customer service! And, even though Kyle wasn't there at the time for us to thank personally, the person who helped us was absolutely great. It may be a bit further for us to drive, but we'll definitely go back because of the customer service. read more

They recently moved to this location about a mile south from their old place at 82nd and King Road. Same crew in a much larger and more updated facility. They've added beer and wine which is nice, and the whole set up is more organized without feeling so claustrophobic. I give them major props for being open in the snow and ice storms recently when several other stores wimped out and closed. Things are shaping up nicely and I'm sure they'll continue to dial it in as time goes on. read more
