This place is sooo good! I've eaten Here 2 times, and gotten takeout once. All three times were amazing! True Cajun food!

It's in a pretty rural area, but worth the drive. Everything our group ordered tasted excellent!

We were seated within 10 minutes. The trouble started from there. We waited for 10 minutes to order our drinks, then waited for 15 minutes to receive our water. Knowing beforehand that this place takes a little longer, we went ahead and put our food order in. We then waited for 1 1/2 hours with no food. Not only that, we were checked on *once* in that time period. We finally left, after no word on our food. I understand it's all part of the experience and that there is usually a wait, but the lack of communication and the service level were horrible. 4 hours after we left our house, we ate fast food burgers on our way home.

I found myself near their weekend restaurant in Santa Fe and placed an order to bring home. Crawfish & Shrimp Étouffée...one of their signature dishes and my absolute favorite. The dish is rich, savory, and you can see the butter creaminess of the dish. The "Holy-Trinity" is plentiful and still maintains its bite. Filled with crawfish along with large shrimp and rice...this meal is the epitome of Cajun cuisine. Christy took excellent care of me and while this is an hour away, I will be back!

There were just a few pieces of sausage and if there was chicken it was shredded so small it looked like rice. The crawfish pie was pasty with way too many layers of phyllo dough. And it tasted and smelled musty like the dough had gone rotten. I'd suggest avoiding the breakfast. You can see the grocery store bought breakfast sandwich boxes behind the counter. No chance any of it is home cooked. The absolute worst was the beignets. When I think of a beignet I expect a fluffy warm pillow with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. Take a look at the photo!! This is more like an uncooked dumpling. A thick, wet in the center glob of dough. It's like they smashed it in their fist and slammed it into the bag. We could still knead the dough after we got it. $40! For two dishes, beignets and two drinks! Such an insult.

We pulled into Papa Dubi's around 1:45, not realizing the kitchen closes at 2:00. We apologized and said we'd come back another time because we didn't want to be "those people", but the staff insisted it was no problem at all. That alone made a great first impression. We ordered quickly and went with the Cajun Sampler--Red Beans and Rice, Gumbo, Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya, and Crawfish Sauce over Rice. We also added hushpuppies and boudin. Every single thing was spot‑on delicious. Each sampler dish had the perfect balance of rice to main ingredients, and the flavors were rich, authentic, and comforting. The boudin was the real deal, and the hushpuppies were just as good. Brandon was our server, and he couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating, especially considering how close it was to closing time. For being this far from Louisiana, Papa Dubi's is absolutely doing it right. We'll definitely be back.

Everyone was super friendly, shout out to our server Brandon. Friendly and willing to engage in my favorite activity (small talk!) lol. To the food. I have an extensive list of food allergies and intolerances. So I will always review a place where I can find a good meal and not get sick or worse. I had the burger po'boy and it was great! Perfect ratio of burger to bread. The fries were pretty standard Sysco fair but I like their seasoned fries so all good. Hubs had the catfish lunch meal and he enjoyed it. Ordered the boy the crab cake meal and he loved it. Also got the 4 sides option as part of our to-go order - gumbo, red beans & rice, jambalaya, and etouffee. I hate soupy rice & beans, so I was happy to see that these were done right. They also tasted great. I wasn't able to try the other items (pesky seafood allergy) but they also looked good and smelled delicious. Definitely see us making a day trip in the future to eat here again.

No shortcuts, no watered-down versions. Just straight, legit flavor. The owners are from Metairie, right off the north side of Lake Pontchartrain, and it shows in everything they put out. They've got both cooked and live crawfish, which matters if you actually know what a proper boil looks like. I have zero connection to this place. Found it by accident. I'll be back regularly. Cajun food sits just behind Korean for me, and this hit that nerve hard. Took me straight back to Lafourche Parish and my stepmother's cooking. That kind of food sticks with you. And yeah, it's in a gas station. Ignore that. If you know anything about New Orleans, some of the best po'boys you'll ever eat come out of spots just like that. Bottom line. This place isn't a novelty. It's a find.

I stopped in per usual and again was not disappointed. As a senior military officer in the human resource arena and one who understands the cost of high staff turnover, specifically in the service industry, it is refreshing to see consistency. This consistency in staff translates to a fundamental truth in business and leadership--it's all about the people Herb sets the tone for consistency; his leadership and infectious enthusiasm permeated throughout the staff, hence the low turnover. I was equally impressed that even since my last visit 10 months ago, Herb remembered my family and me. This place is a jewel in Nashville because of its food and customer service.

Shrimp was crispy and slightly sweet, some of the best I've had inland! Red beans and rice was so smokey and had a bit of sweetness to it, oh buddy it was great! On top of that, everyone was super nice. Guy who seated us was rlly friendly, girl who waited on us was SO helpful with answering my questions! We ended up with beignets that my husband said were the best he's had outside of NOLA. We got to meet the owner on our way out and he seems like someone who has a real passion for what he does. The decor was nice too - very on brand! It feels cozy in there, and everyone seemed to know each other - felt like a sweet little community spot. Currently trying to think of reasons to come back to Nashville so we can eat here again ! Only place we ate twice on our trip
