We…read morerandomly scrolled on YouTube and watched someone rated this THE BEST in Texas so we had to check it out. What makes this place unique is that they use charcoal, have make their own rub, you can order as many ounces up to 32oz I believe, and they only sell ribeye steaks. The place is called the general store because that's what it used to be when first started doing business in the 1980s but later expanded and converted into a steakhouse. We got there at 4pm and there was a little bit of a line already. The restaurant is only open three days a week each day from 5:30 to 9. On Thursday they have fried catfish and Friday and Saturday they sell only steak. The minimum order starts at 10oz and each ounce increment is a little bit extra charge. We ordered the 24 ounce to be shared between the two of us total is about $70 and we still have some leftover. The charcoal flavor was not overpowering, but the seasoning of the steak was perfectly balanced. Usually, I eat my steak with extra pepper or chimichurri, but this one I was able to eat without any extra seasoning. The surface of the steak look heavily seared but the medium interior was really juicy and succulent. I could taste more char on the edge pieces. After the steak we headed to their second shop next door for some malt shake. I got the cookies n creame flavor, it was milky and not overly sweet like any other milkshakes. And the malt flavor lingers on the tongue after each sip. I was debating to get another one but chocolate flavor but I was too full. Service there overall was very welcoming, and dining area is really big, the interior feels like an old western cabin but very clean and spacious. Great for family gatherings too. They also have a BYOB offer for people who love some good sips along with the smokey steak.

Then the garlic mash potatoes and PERFECTLY cooked 10 oz sirloin came out. The steaks were cooked exactly to order. They had a pristine flavor, and the meat just melted in my mouth. The yeast roll looked like a roll but it was pretty heavenly too, especially with the steak drippings. Our server was super sweet and helpful! And the quaint "general store" is for locals and visitors alike!! Awesome steak night --perfect for a date night! Pass on dessert! Stick with best stuff! Pecan cobbler and peach cobbler were overly sweet! But they did come with a scoop Of vanilla ice cream on top!

It's very country looking, so that was appealing. We started with the fried pickles for an appetizer to share. Our group was a party of 3. The pickles were a perfect split for us. The ranch served with the pickles had a tartar sauce undertone taste. It was pretty good. We all had the sweet tea and lemonade mix. It was refreshing. I ordered the regular JW's burger on a classic white bun. The burger was okay. There was no special seasoning to it. I wasn't able to order it medium. From the looks of it, it was "done", so that is a little too done for me. I like mine a little pink. They use leaf lettuce. I prefer shredded. The pickles on my burger were cut lengthwise, and 2 of the strips still had the outer skin on them. Not a fan of that. The fries were good. They had a nice crunch to them. The service was great at JW's. Our drinks were never empty, the food came out fast, and our waitress was very nice. You can't get better than country service. It was a nice change from Houston where everything is hustle and bustle. We all three split a piece of coconut pie. It was okay, but to be fair, I am not a pie person. My coworkers thought it was terrific. If I am out that way again and decide to stop in, I will order something different. Maybe the chicken fried steak. The neighboring table ordered it and it looked good! Our bill for the 3 of us was $71 and some change before tip. That seems on point for 1 appetizer, 3 drinks, 3 entrees, and 1 piece of pie. It was crowded, especially for a weekday after the lunch rush in the country, so they must be doing something right.

I will say that the prices are on a steeper side; however, the portions are also generous. We had a pleasant meal here and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good, southern comfort food.

I had the Maple Old Fashioned, like I usually do, the cubes were small so it tasted watered down. No pick for the cherry, no straw, wasn't smoked. What a waste of Whiskey. My wife's agave drink also sad. I had another whiskey cocktail and felt like a waste. I usually get the Rack of Lamb which has always been unbelievably great. Not on the menu anymore. Got the chef's pick which came with several courses. Salad was plain, soup was incredible, fish was ok, I don't remember what the other thing was. Service was great as always but when you spend $175 plus $36 for a tip I expect top level. Next year I would have a hard time going back there for my 42nd anniversary. What a shame.

Our party of four ordered a lot, including two steaks, Chilean a la Prime, the Chef's weekly special, asparagus, and more. All of the food was exceptional well-prepared and I'm still thinking about how much we all enjoyed coming here.

When we arrived we walked in and spoke with the friendly hostess. She informed us that our order was still being worked on so we waited in the restaurant. It was worth the wait. The food was really good. I ordered a hamburger with onion rings and an extra side of fries. The burger was filling and tasty. The onion rings had a crispy exterior and the onions were sweet. They tasted yummy with ketchup but you could easily eat them without ketchup. The fries were good. They were thick, with seasoning, and a crispy exterior. I was surprised by the flavor. You could easily eat the fries without ketchup as well. Overall Eagles Landing Restaurant was a great place to grab some food. The online ordering process was easy, the service was friendly, and the food was really good.

I got it with mashed potatoes and fried okra. I think the only negative if I had to list one is they charge an extra $2 for simply getting gravy on mashed potatoes or if you got a baked potato there is an extra charge for each individual topping instead of just making it one price. This is definitely a place worth the stop if you're in the area.

My wife had the special, Beef stew with Corn Bread. The catfish was very good and tasty both sides were good. The beef stew left a lot to be desired my wife was looking forward to it. Then she started picking out the meat with all the fat and grizzle on it, which ended up being 85% of all the meat in the bowl. we told the waitress about it and she seemed put off about it. She told the cook and the manager. A little while later she brings a small bowl out with " what she said the cook said had lean meat on it." the first three pieces I took off had more grizzle on it. Sorry not cutting it, the manager never came over to the table to say anything or acknowledge the problem. A little concern would have been nice. went to pay the bill and the girl at the register said she could charge me half price for the food. I guess that is the best they can do, so it would seem all they want is your money and not trying to fix the problem. we will never cross this threshold again wishing you the best in the future.

We stopped by on our way back from Shreveport expecting some standard diner food. Lucky for us, the food was way better than expected and much higher quality as well. My son and I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, while my wife ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken due to the recommendation of our waitress. Unfortunately, they brought out three orders of Chicken Fried Steak. We didn't say anything and accepted the food as it was. The Chicken Fried Steak was humongous and packed with flavor. It was a tad on the salty side and the meat was a little tough. But for a restaurant in the middle of nowhere, it was still better than expected. All of the sides tasted great, including the Mac n cheese, baked potato, coleslaw, fries, and onion rings. I would recommend stopping by here to support them and avoid the fast food chains.

The Pharm is in downtown Buffalo. A lot of locals eat here. If you are a hunter, you are going to love this place. On the front wall is one of the most impressive collections of deer trophies I have ever seen. Lots of restaurants with hunters for owners or workers put deer heads up on the wall. Few have as an impressive a collection of top score trophies as you will see at the Pharm. The antler widths are absolutely positively enormous. I didn't think they made deer with antlers that big. * * * What goes for the antlers goes for the food. Pharm takes pride in its steaks. This seemed like a good reason to order a rib eye sandwich. That rib eye was about as wide at the biggest trophy on the wall. It extended half a foot out of my bun on one side and half a foot out of my bun on the other side. The bun was merely a handle for picking the sandwich up. The rib eye was thin but absolutely tender. It was not the $150 steak you would get at an oil magnate's private dining club. But for an everyday steak sandwich, it was just great. I was happy to have it. I was also happy to have the onion rings that went with it. * * * I would say the crowd was 100% local. I was the only highway passer-through. There were a lot of people taking a break from work for lunch. Many of these guys had the name of their company embroidered on their baseball cap. There were retirees in camouflage having lunch with friends. There was one young Christian couple having a long friendly conversation with a lady who was probably the manager. The manager was holding a hammer and waving her hammer over the place. My guess is that they were talking about some kind of repair or remodel job going on in the restaurant. But then who knows? Altogether, it seemed like a comfortable neighborhood hangout. * * * I suppose you "could" do well by eating at the Subway right at the highway junction. I recommend you do better by going into Buffalo itself.
