Passing through and stopped here for dinner. The food, ambiance, and service were all excellent!! Appetizer we had the bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed jalapeños which were my husband's favorite. I had the 6oz sirloin with crisp asparagus (cooked PERFECTLY) and mashed potatoes. My husband had the Surf and Turf- 9oz sirloin, butterflied shrimp with squash and zucchini with red onions and mashed potatoes with white gravy. Unfortunately I arrived with a dozen guys and we were all hungry and parched. Our waitress was the sweetest Texan with a smooth southern drawl. She had sweet tea, yeast rolls and all of the appetizers on the menu table side within 10 minutes of us walking through the door. She never stopped taking care of our large group while still helping others with their tables. The environment was light and family friendly. A group of women had reserved the large room in the back and had packed it out. Service did not seem to be affected by the two large groups. Cooks had the food out fast and the front of the house staff never stopped smiling. The attached photo was of my meal. It was the best CFS I have had in years. Fork tender, perfect golden crust that clung to the beef like a loose sock. No salt or pepper needed. read more

It may have just been a bad night. There were four in our group and they only had two six-tops available. We weren't allowed to sit at those, in case a party of five or six came in. When we said we were leaving, the manager came over and over-rode the host. They then problems with there computer ordering system. They couldn't trade brown rice for white rice, and couldn't cut the onions in one of our orders. We'll try again another time. read more

The hostess dropped freshly rolled silverware onto the dirty floor and picked them up and put them on top of other clean silverware. Drinks did not come for 40 minutes, dinner was served in red plastic shrimp baskets and another table was stating how they would jot pay for "another" sub-par meal, becuz it had been done to them more than a few times. What a disappointment, when they have a billboard spouting their best customer experience. Totally disgusting and disappointing food, environment, and ambiance in an already dying town. read more

Don't come in a hurry. We waited 10 minutes to be seated and over 30 for a burger. (It wasn't full, they are just on their own timeline).

This place deserves 5 star rating all the way. I was impressed with their friendly service and atmosphere of the restaurant. Their fried pickles for starter and the delicious ribeye steak was excellent and highly recommended. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area. read more

This is a big, well oiled classic Texas steakhouse. Friendly and very helpful service, clean and tasteful country decor, a small but well curated bar (with giant cocktail ice cubes) and a big enough menu to suit most people in your party. Get a salad with the house made blue cheese - great start to dinner. The top sirloin was charred to a perfect medium rare and had an excellent marinade - not too strong but flavorful. Excellent chicken fried steak, too, and don't shy away from the bacony green beans. Recommended. Note to the owners: would love it if you added a mushroom side dish - from local mushrooms. Our server was amazing and the food was great! It was not packed the day we arrived and we were celebrating my wife's graduation. I ordered the ribeye while my wife ordered the salmon and we got fried pickles as an appetizer. Everything had great flavor! They also give complimentary rolls which were warm and freshly made. Met up with some friends for dinner and a bottle of wine. This is our go to place in Madisonville. Started with sharing crab cakes. Dinner was NOLA Pasta, Salmon or Cajun Catfish. All good. The girls had rice dishes and they had no problem substituting broccoli for them. Fresh rolls and butter. Bailey was a wonderful server! (Amazingly talented wine pourer.). Wine? Faust Cabernet. I highly recommend this restaurant. My husband and I drove to the restaurant from Wills Texas. We had the sampler appetizer. My husband had a steak and I had the popcorn shrimp. Good food! Combo app of fried pickles and friend squash - zucchini and yellow with homemade ranch. The rolls are warm and soft with melt on your knife butter! Our table also had crab cakes, salad, & chicken strips. Good service! Quick response to request of napkins and tea refills. Only downside is the parking - a challenge at lunch on a weekday. 3 1/2 stars, rounded up. The baked potato was excellent but the chicken fried steak was really tough and chewy. The wife loved her creole fish. When I got the bill, I was a suprised to see an additional $2 for the potato to be loaded, although that seems fair. I didn't see that it was an additional charge on the menu. The atmosphere was sort of boring and not very memorable, but it is a small town eatery. So far, this is not worthy of loosing a star but the kicker was when I paid cash and expected change the server said, "Thank you, have a good night" and walked away. 2 stars only because major lack of service. Myself and 2 friends were visiting from out of town and decided to come here for lunch on a Tuesday around 1...just noticed a big party left no big deal. The lady asked if we wanted to sit at a high top or table in the main area. We said table in main area and she said it would be a minute to clean. We waited 5 mins, no big deal. She sat us with menus and told us how another waitress called in so she may be a little slow getting to us. Again no big deal thanks for the warning. 20 minutes went by and not even a drink order was taken or waters. I thought my party was very patient and generous with our time and understanding but got nothing in return . We left and the girl saw us leave and didn't apologize or offer to make it right. We went on Saturday night and the staff was polite and professional when we walked in the door and got us to a table quickly. The young lady who was our server greeted us with a smile and got our delicious dinner started. We had fried pickles, Caesar salad, rolls and butter to start. Our entrees were the Chicken Fried Chicken which was excellent and so was the Chimichurri Chicken. We are already looking forward to our next visit. We came here a few weeks ago and had a good experience. Food was good but the Apple Cobbler was off the chain! We loved it so much that we had to come back. Tonight we tried the Western Burger - wow! Cooked perfectly and so delicious! They have a great atmosphere and as you would expect, it's western to the core. Maybe in Madisonville, Texas Legends Steakhouse is "legendary". In my mind the venue is far from fabulous. My assessment is based upon a singular dining experience and nothing more. I ordered grilled chicken with two sides: steamed broccoli and grilled vegetables. The portion of chicken was small, the price ($ 16.00) wasn't. The two sides were scanty as well, served in small dishes. Accompanying my meal were four table rolls that were tiny, soft and unremarkable. Stopped in while passing through. Was looking to try their chicken fried steak. I was greeted and seated immediately. The hostess was welcoming and upbeat and updated me that I had happenstanced on the establishment's 10 year anniversary. To celebrate they were offering the original menu at original prices and chicken fried steak (cfs) is on the menu. She took my drink ordered and let me know my server would be around shortly. I noticed the original cfs entree was different and from the current offering and continued to compare the contemporary with the classic when server arrived. I placed an order for the cfs as I was holding the classic menu, however instead of asking she took an order for the current...an $8 difference in price. Now I didn't give a sheet about the price as I was prepared to tip on contemporary pricing but disappointed I wasn't given the same opportunity as I overheard other servers asking patrons which cfs they were ordering from. The rolls are a must, you will destroy any carb limits with these things. Fluffy, chewy and the perfect crust. Paired with whipped butter...just to die for. Also, really impressed by the spirits. They out class many a upscale restaurants in the "city" Mash potatoes are awesome perfect salt, pepper and a hint of garlic. The grilled vegetables are great too, squash, zucchini and onion cooked to caramelized perfection. Cfs is worth the trek off of 45. Great breading that pairs perfectly with the white gravy. I guess my server was a little green as she brought a check before asking if I was interested in dessert. I mean that's server 101, see if you can get'em to order the high margin only second to beverages. She kept commenting on how tired I looked, that started to get old. I tried the key lime pie, this was the only disappointing entree for me. It's good but I have an extremely high bar for key lime pie. Points for the in-house made crust. We stopped by for dinner, most of the staff was in Halloween costumes. Very tasteful, very kind staff, then went to the bar to listen to live music. Both young bartenders were awsome, sweet and attentive. Music was lively and very C&W. I kinda go for old rock or some blues. But very talented guitarist. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening. This restaurant was huge! But the food was not really even in par with Texas Roadhouse. Which was super disappointing. Still decent but not something I will wake up dreaming about. I ordered the 6oz sirloin and my husband got the steak potato. Mostly my food became a conveyance mechanism for Ranch Dressing. We were traveling home to Dallas from Houston and looked for somewhere to stop for dinner, and the Yelp review for Texas Legends Steakhouse convinced us to venture the 5 miles from I-45. It was worth it! The ribeye steak was very tender and flavorful and my companion had the strawberry patch salad and it was delightful!
