Not only that, there is no longer a steaming machine available to clean, fit and block hats. Further, customers are forced to pay for such incidentals as feathers and cork linings, adding further insult to the "gentlemen's club" feeling that used to exist there. A week later, I received an email saying the hat had arrived. When I got to the store, the employee told me the wrong hat was ordered. I said fine, here's my number -- return it and get the correct one. Another week goes by, and when I come back, the same hat is still sitting in the box -- not even returned. Lazy employees, no urgency, and the store feels more like a hangout spot than a place of business. Customers shouldn't have to deal with this kind of nonsense. The sales rep never processed the return, so I had to request a refund myself. Still no hat, just wasted time and money (including paying for parking in SoHo). All I heard was, "Oh, I'm sorry." Sorry doesn't fix terrible service. Completely unprofessional -- everything about this place is trash. The store needs serious management or maybe just let AI run it because at least robots would do the job.

"Oh, there goes the guy with the cool hat walking up 1st ave" onlookers would say as they walked by, jealous of my cool new hat. Cute girls would come up to me at the Wayland and or Ding-a-Ling saying "Oh my god, I love your hat!" ... "You haven't been to East Village Hats!??!?!?!" I would respond to them with a cheeky, endearing smile. However, when I picked up the hat it was like $130 and that's just out of my price range for a hat at this moment. Also, I have an extremely large head so the hat was probably a pipe dream all along. A man could dream can't he...?
