The selection of clothing was perfect, just what I was hoping for for my first time in New York! Let me preface this review by going on record that I absolutely hate shopping! But a good friend recommended that I try Madonna & Co so I figured why not? So glad I made that decision. Geralynn the owner is fantastic. She is a fashionista and has a great eye for what is flattering on you. LIke the other reviewers have mentioned, you feel no pressure shopping here which is a refreshing change from many of the boutiques in the city. The clothes are beautiful and the inventory changes frequently. Today I bought a beautiful silk plum dress that I can't wait to wear. Never got looking at the clothes that day I stumbled in. Was actually drawn in by my Cousin's eye caught a glimmer of something very shiny in the window. So yeah lets go check this place out. They carried an interesting array of jewelry and accessories and I did see a few stylish frocks, just didn't feel like peeling off the layers that day to try anything on. My cousin really liked this Vintage Chanel necklace hanging on the mannequin in the window. The clerk also shows us one more vintage piece of Chanel they had in the store too, so I guess they carry new and vintage pieces from time to time. He states they had more just a few days before, but some foreign guy came in and cleaned them out and bought most of their vintage. My cousin decides on the original necklace in the window, and on a whim I try on the other, and you know its pretty rad. And I always look at this vintage stuff on Ebay and it's way ridiculous to bid on, so I usually just give up. And here is my opportunity. so I turn to my husband and say "honey this is what I want for Xmas". And that was it, done. I'm easy ;-D They had some really nice jackets I spy as I was leaving, but after my impulse purchase I felt I better mosey on down the road. Maybe next trip to NYC....dare to dream. read more

Love this store. No Pressure Boutique. Caters to shoppers who like reasonably priced clothing and accessories that are unique in style and timeless. Sheik along with Owner Geralynn have become my "new best friends" knowing what I like and what will look well on my body. I have had extraordinary luck in finding garments on the $50 SALE RACK that I continue to wear and love. Additionally, Madonna & Co. has become my GO TO place for special occasions and unique timeless work and play clothing. Recently I wore a wonderful basic black dress that Sheik called to tell me was included in a well priced shipment. I love this boutique! I love dark, flowing, whimsical clothing and basic, plain tops. Madonna & Co. has it when I'm in the market for these types of items. She has styles that are second to none and incomparable to most of the other boutiques in Manhattan. Jessica Scott AKA The Curl Whisperer is amazing! She worked patiently with my severely heat damaged hair. She made my curls that I thought were completely dead, come back to life! Jessica is nothing short of a miracle worker. She is very patient, and thorough. She explains in great detail every step she is taking, this way you can mimic the process at home. Although Jessica uses her own products, (which she sells), she does not force you to buy at all! But I did end up buying a bottle of the gel :) I HIGHLY recommend Jessica and cant wait to continue my curly hair journey with her. read more

Great find in the neighborhood. Has really unique, fashionable and beautiful clothing and accessories. Salespeople are very helpful and nice. The staff at the location are wonderful, especially the stylist in the salon, Jessica. She has been my stylist for about a year and a half now and I can honestly say that after finding her, I won't let anyone else touch my curls again. Now for my fellow members of the curly hair club who require more info before making that oh so important commitment, keep reading...Jessica aka the curl whisperer, is incredibly patient, professional, knowledgeable and overall AMAZING!!! She took the time to examine my curls both wet & dry, looked at the pics I'd collected to show her what I wanted and, more importantly, didn't want and then she shared her vision. She explained her process step-by-step during the cut & style including why she used specific products on my hair w/o becoming a pushy salesperson. I still use the same products but by following her method, I use less product in a more efficient way and have ended up saving tons of $$$ so the payoff is more than worth it! Most impressively, Jessica taught me how to make my beautified curls last for 2 or 3 days, something I was never able to pull off before. I can't say enough about how wonderful Jessica is and so glad I've finally found "the one" when it comes to my curls!!! Sooo my longtime curly hair specialist haircutter, Jessica left Ouidad Salon and moved to a very hip, cool clothing boutique! She cuts in the back, and what on earth could be better than have my very curly locks attended to, then stepping into a clothing heaven after.... A friend of mine told me about M&C so I checked it out this weekend while I was in Soho. I LOVED everything in there! I ended up trying on a few dresses, skirts and vests (I instantly knew I had been missing a furry vest from my wardrobe after I saw so many amazing ones in the store). The women who worked there were super nice which was a bonus. I ended up buying a vest, two dresses and a necklace. Considering the quality, the prices are a steal. I really love this store! I live in philly and found the store by accident when I was visiting my sister in the city. The clothes were very unique and I couldn't believe how affordable they were. The associate was super helpful and attentive to me and my sister the whole time. I tried on a few different dresses, but had to decide on only one for NYE. Also bought a fur scarf for mom for Christmas. Wish I could have gotten more. Its refreshing to find a store thats still different. Definitely going to go again next time I'm in the city. read more
