Ordered delivery when trying Lisa's for the first time on a Saturday night and it came much faster than the slated 45 minutes--contactless delivery was great! We opted for 2,dinner platters and krab rangoons. The dinner platters had a main (ours were general taos and Szechuan beef) that came with white or pork fried rice, an egg roll and soup (wonton). The meat portions looked small but were deceptively large, both were noted as spicy--we didn't think so, but the flavors were layered and and the chicken was not overwhelmingly syrupy/saucy. The only disappointment was the krab Rangoon which is a risk when ordering from a new place--it was sweet cream cheese, no krab. read more

Recently ordered it the the cream cheese puffs were as big as Apple Turn overs! They gave me a 4.oz container of Duck Sauce & it was hot & so good & filled! Next day I ordered same Dish Krab Rangoon It was just awful cream cheese puffs were 1/2 the size of day before & also not as many! The 4oz container wasn't filled! So aggravating, not cheap either!!" 3 1/2 to 4 stars. Met a girlfriend for dinner here the other night. It's a small restaurant on the west side of Powerline. It's in a strip of stores, but you can't park right in front of it. Instead, there's a parking lot just south of the stores. Luckily it wasn't raining too hard when I got out of my car. It's a step up between a takeout place and a full service restaurant. There are a number of tables inside and we got fast and friendly service. In fact, we had to ask them to slow down as we hadn't finished our soup when they brought out our egg rolls. We both opted for their dinner "platters" -- their name for combos. You could choose from a number of options. We both opted for their wonton soup. The soup was served piping hot, the wontons perfectly al dente, and the broth very flavorful. And we also both chose their egg rolls. The traditional egg rolls were crispy outside. Really liked them. For our entrees, I got their roast pork with mixed vegetables and white rice. My girlfriend had their general tao's chicken (Tao -- their spelling for Tso's). It was a bit pricier for the dinner meal than most other Chinese restaurants, and not the largest portion (her chicken dish was a lot larger than mine), but we both really liked our meals. And it is Boca, where i imagine rents are high. They do a large pickup business here. And I can understand why. I'm looking forward to trying some other items on their menu in future. read more

It's pretty rare to find a Chinese place that is actually high-quality. I appreciate that the person that answered the phone spoke very clearly and was easy to understand. The food was awesome. The general Tso's chicken had the perfect amount of spice, if you like a little bit more spice you can use the Cayenne pepper sauce that comes with the food. I really enjoyed this find. My friend recommended Chinese and we met for dinner. I had read some of the reviews and was hoping we would find a table because it did appear to be small and primarily a take out restaurant. We arrived very early on a rainy weeknight and had no trouble being seated. Overall, the food was great, service was great, atmosphere small but very clean designed largely for take out. Parking was free and easy and the menu had Chinese, Thai, Sushi and Japanese options. It was a hard decision but we went for the Chinese combos as Chinese was our original idea. I ordered General Tso's Chicken and my friend ordered pork with veggies. We both got wonton soup and an egg roll with the combo as well as a choice of white or pork fried rice. We both loved everything. The soup was really tasty, egg rolls hot and crispy on the outside. We were served complimentary fried noodles with sauces and they were really great too. Our main dishes were plentiful and fresh tasting. I took some home and my friend barley finished hers. I really liked the sauce on my entree as it was the perfect mix of tangy and sweet with a nice after bite of heat. The chicken was cut in small pieces and lightly fried. A few more pieces of broccoli on that dish would have made it perfect but I'm giving a 5 star rating because Lisa's Kitchen by far exceeded my expectations of a take out Chinese Restaurant and our server Frank was so accommodating and polite. Menu was interesting but the food had no taste. I was very disappointed after reading all the great reviews. Maybe I caught it at a bad time but I think consistency is important. Who has time and patience for hit and miss places. With so many flavors available in Chinese cuisine there's no excuse for bland food. I guess flavor is an extra charge here. An evaluation of only the soups and egg rolls at Lisa's Kitchen in Boca Raton. This is a Chinese Am takeout only joint in Boca that has gotten mixed reviews for its NY-style (really hate myself for saying that) food. I wanted soup and also we needed a big container of white rice so I had my wife pick some up on the way back from Boca. Egg Drop: quite good. Stock flavor good. Umami, chicken. Good egg flowers. Wonton: good wontons, decent amount of thin roast pork slices on this. Base stock is good, might be a mix of pork and chicken and a commercial base but I'll allow it. Hot and sour: is vegetarian, heavily soy sauce making it brown, very cornstarch, heavy vinegar but none of the hot. Okay, I guess, it's no Mainland. Egg rolls: small, they use red colored ground Pork. Not roast pork. Better than the basic lousy mass produced south Florida egg roll but not worth traveling to this place for it. I can't speak for their other Chinese-Am stuff but you should be close to the place if you are going to get anything more complicated than these soups because it won't hold up to a 30 minute drive if it's breaded or whatever. I couldn't not swallow the dumplings in the soup because the meat inside them smelled and tasted spoiled. The Mongolian beef was okay-- poor buffet quality. Lisa's kitchen is our favorite to-go Chinese food that we've tried so far! The pork fried rice might be the best I've ever had! We've tried a good amount of food here. The general tsos has great flavor and is super yummy, we've had it multiple times, one time it was a little dry, maybe overcooked, but normally it's great. The shrimp lo mein is really good, the shrimps taste fresh too! The moo goo guy pan is really good, but I'd love it more if it had water chestnuts too. We just tried the shrimp and broccoli for the first time and it was really good too! Their egg rolls are also really good. Hands down the absolute BEST Chinese food that I have had in south Florida! Everything and I mean everything is on point, not greasy at all, not even the egg rolls!! However I can see that the family really cares and Lisa aims to please (being willing to customize any dish and order). They are located in a small strip center off of Powerline Rd. There's some parking but it's mainly down near the other end of the center. They had a few tables inside with waiter service (maybe bottled water only) and the place was clean. I'm not sure I would eat-in as it seems to be more of a carry-out place to me but it's good to know they offer that option. The highlights or the meal to us were the soups (very good Hot & Sour, Chicken with Garlic Sauce (lots of fresh vegetables) and Shrimp Udon. The Ma Po Tofu was just ok and thus we may not order that one again. They also offer brown rice but do charge extra for it. Good portion size however there's only 1 size on most dishes. This is our first time ordering from Lisa's Kitchen and it was absolutely amazing!! We finally found real Chinese/Cantonese cuisine after a very long hunt for a traditional Chinese restaurant. We ordered egg rolls, house special soup, Mongolian chicken, the triple crown, and the house fried rice. The portions were very large with tremendous amounts of the chicken, pork, jumbo shrimp, beef and veggies. There was no skimping on the ingredients. I have ordered takeout (only) here a few times and it is probably the best in Boca Raton for that purpose. The beef chow fun is very good and the dumplings are tasty and the egg drop soup is good. I ordered a veggie dish eggplant I believe and forgot to ask for it to be extra spicy. My hopes were in the metal because flavor and spice are important to me. When I arrived I waited about five minutes because they were busy. Lisa told me that my order was in the works and that she would give me something for the heat, the spiciness I want it.
