I tend to be a creature of habit, however, so I usually order moo goo gai pan combo. It's delish! Enjoyable first order & it was ready upon arrival We have been searching for a new place to order Chinese food as our regular spots have made some changes (one sold & the other one stopped offering smaller size dish options). It's very difficult to find a new place as reviews are very subjective and the ratings of nearby places are all over the board. After doing some research, I decided to try Hong Kong Palace. I found out they made homemade dumplings and the steamed dumplings did not disappoint. We also ordered a chicken dish, Lo Mein and a shrimp dinner combination platter. We had a good variety and we were pleased with all of the dishes. They use quality ingredients & also have brown rice. Good portion sizes too (plenty of leftovers for lunch). For years this was my "go to" Chinese take-out. I stopped going when the original owners sold probably 8 years ago. I got a menu in the mail and thought I'd give the new owners a try. Just south of Palmetto and Powerline in the shopping center with Brooklyn Bagel and Party City. There's a big parking lot right in front. The new owners totally renovated the inside. Clean and welcoming, this is take-out only and here are 2 small tables right outside the front door, if you want to eat in. Family run, the service is very good. Food was good too. Hot and Sour soup was on point as was the chicken with mixed vegetables, and the house lo mein. The lo mein had a nice mixture of chicken, pork, beef and shrimp and the noodle were cooked perfectly I've been back twice in the last month and have been happy with the food, the cleanliness and the service. Maybe I hit them on a bad day, yesterday! I was so hoping by the other reviews that the food was going to be delicious.... Nope! The wonton soup was like tinted water with salt, some floating scallions. I will say the Shrimp wontons were good, the Chow fun which is my favorite was bland and undercooked. My friend had Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce he said the flavor was there but the shrimp was overcooked and the vegetables not cooked at all. The egg rolls were standard. Have tried the General Tso's Tofu at a few restaurants and this is right up there with the best. Fast service and a nice little touch; all take out orders come in a nice cardboard box tray. I was looking for a Chinese restaurant that had catering style dishes for a small birthday party I was throwing. I found Hong Kong Palace on yelp and saw their website had the ability to order catering style dishes! This was such a perk for me since I was going to be traveling from North Florida to Boca for the party. The website was really easy to use. The catering style dishes are limited, but they had the perfect selection for my family. I ordered sesame chicken, bourbon chicken, house special lo mein and pork fried rice. I ordered about 2 days prior to our travel date and I ordered close to 10:00pm. When I was done with my order, the website said I had the option to pay in the store. I thought that was a brave move of this business to trust someone would pay for about $200 worth of Chinese food after it was ordered and made. Well, around 10:15pm, I received a call from the restaurant. Not only did they confirm my order, but they wanted to make sure everything was accurate, day and time wise, since they were closing for the night. It was a shocking call, but so welcomed. I scheduled my order to be picked up on a Saturday at 12:30pm. I received a phone call from the restaurant around 11:30ish confirming I was still picking up the food. They asked when I would be there and because we were out and about, I said we could actually come early for the food. They had no problem with that and told us to head over. We got there around 11:50am. The doors were locked even though they were technically open. We saw people through the front window and knew they were cooking so we sat outside at a covered table and hung out for about 15 minutes. It was nice out and we were in no rush. Someone from inside the restaurant opened the doors with a smile and confirmed our order was ready. I thought about the door being locked during business hours. They literally kept it locked so they could ensure our order was made and they weren't interrupted. Such great customer service. The food was wrapped well and piping hot! Everything was placed securely in boxes. We were given plenty of soy sauce, duck sauce and fortune cookies. They helped carry everything to the car and off we went. The food was absolutely delicious. The lo mein had nice sized shrimp and other meat all through out the noodles. The fried rice was regular old fried rice. The sesame and bourbon chicken had sweet, delicate flavors to them. Just fantastic. There was SO much food, we literally ate it for lunch and dinner. Everyone at the party was able to take leftovers home as well. I think we all ate on it for about a week. It was a nice partying gift. The level of customer service at Hong Kong Palace was so impressive. The food was great and plentiful. I went on a week night around 6:30. I was in the mood for old-fashioned, white container, Chinese takeout and, since they're rated 4.3 on Google, I thought I'd give them a try. First, we ordered 'shrimp wontons'. I expected something like a wonton you'd find in soup but it wasn't. What these actually are is shrimp rangoon's. The bulbous part with the shrimp in it was ok. The rest of it was dried out and not worth eating. Next, we ordered vegetable fried rice. It was ok but they are very fond of broccoli. Lastly, I got pork Chow Fun. Again, it was ok. Reheating them the next day made them dried and brittle. I was going to order spare ribs but, at $20, it wasn't worth the chance. They don't put any sauces in the bag for you so load up before you go. Overall, they were very average. I'll continue searching until I find a place like Crazy Wok in Coconut Creek. IMHO, they are the best in the area. I miss being 1/2 mile from them. read more

Hong Kong Palace is the best Chinese restaurant in this area. Their food is unbelievably delicious. I had the Snow Peas with chicken and the pork lo mein. I enjoyed it so much that I have to give the restaurant my highest rating. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do. It reminds me of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant that everyone goes to for a spectacular meal. I go about once a week or so and it is consistently amazing. It's Yelp's Thank You Thursday. What a great opportunity to thank my favorite place to get delicious Chinese food. They go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. I've been getting carry out for seven years and I can't remember having a problem with the food or the service. I usually order the combination platter. Both the egg drop and wonton soups are delicious. The egg rolls are the best. I've tried many of their entrees. One of my favorites is shrimp with lobster sauce. They have a large menu with lots of different Chinese foods. If you go there you won't be disappointed. This is not a sit down restaurant. They only have pick up or delivery. Most people in there, but the food is basically a big bucket of grease. It tasted OK you can get it down but it's so greasy you could probably take the container out and lube your brakes with it vegetable lo mein I'd like no vegetables in it and they refused to make fresh pork vegetable lo mein so that's like see you later I'm not coming back. read more

3 1/2 stars for the food (good to very good) and an extra half star for their fast prompt service, a clean environment, and their honoring without question our yelp checkin offering 2 free cans of soda. Also a shout out to yelp elites Clyde and Dian for their positive reviews of this restaurant -- that had me bookmark this location in the first place. We called in our order from the car. They told us about 10 - 15 minutes for pickup. When we arrived the order was ready. They'd even written "not too spicy" on the ticket next to my request. We got two entrees (not their combo dinners) and we shared. The portions were so huge that we had dinner and then two more lunches with the food. He got their General Tso's chicken. It was breaded and in that usual sweet sauce with red pepper flakes. It had a bit of a kick, but wasn't killer. I'm sure if you requested very spicy they would oblige. It came with a side container of white rice. I requested Singapore noodles, but not too spicy. It had curry and an under current of pepper, but was exactly as I'd requested. Enough spice to make it interesting, but not overpowering. The thin rice noodles were perfectly cooked. Mixed in to the noodles were lots of chicken, pork, shrimp, eggs, scallions, carrots, pea pods, bok choy, and bean sprouts. In the bag were two fortune cookies (no million dollar prizes, but they did advise we buy a ticket). As well as myriad packets of Chinese mustard, soy sauce, and duck sauce. And the answer is yes. I went to my son's house to discuss wedding details with my future daughter-in-law and her parents. They ordered takeout to be delivered so the conversations didn't need to be interrupted. The food was good, but the portions were not very big. Also, they were out of brown rice so I had to get white, and her mom wanted fried rice and also got white, although my son's fried rice was delivered. Hong Kong palace should remove the word palace and replace their name with Hong Kong dump. Talk about a hole in the wall in Boca Raton. The fried rice was nothing short of brown rice. No egg, and no vegetables in it. Though the picture shows a beautiful display of fried rice that's not what's being sold. The general Taos chicken was primarily bread. The guys service did so and flip-flops. The AC clearly was not working so that two fans blowing inside. Drinks are get your own out of the ice cooler out front. They weren't cold either. Truly awful experience. Full disclosure, we never even got our food. We walked in, so there was no technological barrier from a telephone, just bad service. Asked basic questions about allergens that they couldn't answer, so ordered some of the simplest things on the menu.
