I ordered a burrito bowl with sweet potatoes as my base and included black beans, salsa, cheese and sour cream. There's a lot of other ingredients available such as rice. Lettuce jalapeños, etc. Overall it was ok and I would return. My only gripe was that the salsa tasted like Tostitos and I'd prefer more of a pico de gallo at a place like this. Stopped in on a whim due to my usual lunch spot being inexplicably closed. I was brain dead from closing on a house, so the kind woman behind the counter walked me through my options and made me feel at ease. I found a seat with a great view of the water and relaxed. Only ok. I ordered a pork burrito with black beans and rice. They asked about salsa and I requested pico de gallo. They said that they didn't have it, they only had salsa. So, I got the medium. This probably should have stopped me. Pico de gallo is easy and great. It it's a testament to freshness. The burrito was underwhelming. The pork was highly shredded, not juicy. The cheese was an oddly flavored shredded orange cheddar. It had an oddly fishy aftertaste I think.... No garlic in the black beans. I think there are four categories of Mexican in Maine: Not edible: Margaritas Edible: like Lisa's Legit Burritos Pretty Good: Chipotle/New Taco Trio/Taco Escobar Transcendent: El Rayo, Sal de la Tierra, old Taco Trio Overall, it was just ok. The burrito tasted a lot like a cold spoonful of cold Newman's Salsa. And I think that their canned salsa is what they count on for flavor. It is nice and clean with nice staff. read more

The place has great options to include vegetarian and vegan options. I ordered two burritos the veggies one from the menu and built my own with squash, refried and baked beans, lettuce, rice and vegan cheese. After conversation with the cashier I decided to do jalapeños on the side as well. I was also informed the salsas would be on the side The veggie burrito came out correctly and was good, the other one was not what I ordered! The burrito had black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, salsa (causing it to be quite soggy). For the price of the burrito I'm quite disappointed that the burrito isn't what I ordered especially since I built my own burrito... The cashier was eating behind the cashier which what I assume was the owner told her was not okay and she eventually moved. My order was put in and a but after two people ordered burritos and they got their burritos then another person came in after that and ordered a burrito bowl and got that before finally I got my burritos, which she said was due to the veggie one getting toasted but with multiple people working seems odd that two burritos would take that long.. Overall I'm very disappointed and I feel as though I wasted money here, I had high hopes as this place clearly has potential. read more

Legitness confirmed!! This little burrito spot rocks! It's parking along the street, so be prepared to walk if you're coming a busy time. There are a few tables inside and the atmosphere is very colorful and friendly. The staff treated us so well and the burritos were really incredible. I went with the vegan grilled burrito with the hot salsa and I was impressed by the delicious, flavorful fillings and the pleasant heat of the salsa. My wife built her own vegan burrito which was also delicious. They also have dessert burritos/quesedillas which are super unique. Please do not waste your time or money to go here. You would get better food for less money at Taco Bell. We ordered a bowl, a burrito, and a half taco salad and the total was 37$ (not including a tip, which in hindsight was not deserved). Almost all of the normal toppings such as tomato, sour cream, and onion were 1.50$ extra. The portions were small and flavorless. The bowl was only equivalent to about 1 1/2 cups of food, most of which was the extra butternut squash that we added on. Most of the ingredients tasted like prepackaged grocery items, including the chips and salsa which were almost identical to Pace salsa and cheap tortilla chips. Not to mention, the cashier and presumed owner was very rude and abrasive. Save your money and buy some El Paso products at the grocery store! I wish I could give this place negative stars. read more

Stopped in when I was in the area for work, wasn't expecting a lot but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in! Fun atmosphere, lot of energy from the place and it's workers alike. We've eaten here many, many, many times over the past year and the food has always been excellent, service great & friendly and the atmosphere is warm & welcoming. I often have the taco salad and I'm confused as to the previous bad review - when you order ANYTHING, the person taking your order walks you through pretty much every ingredient to customize the food they way you want it, it's on the slip they fill out when you order. And the owner is always there and I've seen her offer to make the order right in the rare event they get it wrong (they are human, they make mistakes sometimes). If you're disappointed with your food, why not say something and give the place a chance to make it right? If they mess it up twice, they deserve a crappy review... if they make it right and go above & beyond, isn't that a good thing? But to not even give them a chance... (not, I don't work here - I work close to here, eat here often and there is a reason this place is always very busy). The burritos are massive, heavy and amazingly delicious. Tacos are way above average. The food is prepared according to your desire of spiciness and is pretty accurate & consistent. The hours are short - only open 11-4 Monday through Friday. read more

Lisa's legit burritos is anything but. My daughter got nachos which the chips were Tostito out of the bag type chips and the cheese sauce wasn't even heated-- but was melted like velveta. The mild salsa also appeared to be from a jar. Nothing homemade about this place. My burrito was big on tortilla and short on filling. Just a very disappointing experience. I would have preferred to eat at Chipotle-- at least that's from scratch. Boy were we disappointed when we unwrapped them and started to eat them. Everything seemed canned and nothing home made.
