We recently picked up takeout here and were very impressed! The kitchen sink fries are a win! The honey garlic fried chicken and housemade ranch were phenomenal! Such a delicious combo! And the addition of the mac and cheese really rounded out this savory, delightful dish. My one critique is that the fries themselves were not my preference, slightly crisp but definitely not hand cut. They were tossed with a sweet fry seasoning, which made the dish a little too sweet for my taste. The honey garlic fried chicken sandwich was also delicious! The fried chicken was topped with the sauce instead of coated (unlike the chicken in the kitchen sink fries), but it was still good. The sauce was delicious and the chicken was high quality and well balanced with all the toppings. We also got grilled haddock tacos, which were amazing! They were huge and looked a bit like a take on "white people taco night" but that would be wrong because the flavor was there! The haddock was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The tortillas were fine, nothing special, but the sauces and toppings were fresh and flavorful. Overall, this place offers delicious food and has friendly staff. We really wanted to like this place - we are local and having a decent restaurant in town is priceless. Unfortunately Two Maine Guys was a miss for us. We ordered the honey garlic chicken sandwich with fries and the classic burger with coleslaw. The chicken sandwich was ok. It's big and best eaten with a knife and fork. I didn't get any garlic but there was plenty of honey there. Unfortunately, the fries were cold and limp. The burger (ordered medium well) was unseasoned and pink throughout and the slaw was not cold. I hate saying it but the food was really disappointing. Neither of us finished our meal nor did we want to take our leftovers home. I also noticed that several other patrons in the restaurant did not finish their meals either. I don't know why all the 3 stars? Maybe it was their old location but as of this writing (7/19/25), they have a food truck in the parking lot of their new restaurant (while they remodel the place). The new restaurant looks pretty cool & they will have a bigger menu than what they have now. But what I had was freeeeeeking amazing. Like if you're not eating here, are you even living?! Nicest people working. Cook was on point both times I went. The honey garlic chicken sandwich was huge but more importantly it was fried to juicy perfection! So many crispy nubs iykyk. The sauce completed it & was crazy delicious. top tier fried chicken! So good I went back a few days later and had a double smashburger, which was on the special board. It was like a super smashburger- thicker and holy crap so so good. The fries were homemade and perfect. And my kids got The Kitchen Sink fries which is fries topped with their homemade mac n cheese (addictive) and crispy honey garlic chicken (cut into pieces). I wanted the pulled pork but I arrived too late & it was gone. I absolutely will drive an hour when they open their new place! Food was outta this world delicious, we started of with he fried pickles some of the best I've ever had!! wife had fried shrimp with their signature Mac and cheese and it was way better than expected!! Local gem! Two Maine Guys hit the food scene in Augusta a couple years ago and have been crushing it ever since. Hearty portions, decent prices, daily specials and seasonal goodies. On my last trip I was in the mood for thanksgiving leftovers and Two Maine Guys did not disappoint. They had a thanksgiving wrap with all the trimmings and a side of gravy to dunk. I swear it weighed more than I did! Hearty and filling it was Thanksgiving in a tortilla! The service there is always friendly and fast. Usually one of the owners is around greeting customers. Place your order at the counter and it comes up fast and with a smile. They take cash and card and have a rewards promo too for frequent customers. The ambiance is casual and unassuming. Clean tables and floors, handicap accessible restrooms. They offer a changing selection of beers and canned ciders. They also have a cooler grab n go sodas, waters, and other drinks. They are known for their pulled pork, poutine, coleslaw and Mac n cheese. During a conversation with the cashier he was telling me people come from miles around for the pulled pork. In the summer there is also outside dining, live entertainment and they can be found around the state at local events serving up their amazing grub from their food truck. Busy little grease shack. This place filled up quickly after we arrived and placed our order. This is a popular spot for fried seafood for the locals. We stopped here for lobster rolls since their restaurant profile indicates they serve lobster rolls. Well guess what? They did not have any to serve up so it seems they are not on their seasonal availability yet. Missed it by 2 more weeks so now we had to order fried whole belly clams a fried fish sandwich. I requested for my clams to be not well done (golden brown) Cashier responded we know how it should done, we sell a lot of whole belly clams here. Well from my experience any time I get a response like that no matter what dish it maybe in question I should just listen to my gut feeling and just forget that order because they always boast on the skills and they always f it up and the same for this experience. This was amazing they don't have many options for picky ppl sadly BUT they have a lot of Mac and cheese which as a picky eater that's my favorite food but I was a bit skeptical of it at first but it was good I even got it on the kids menu and their fries seasoning is delicious and if you're thinking about the price the portions are HUGE for the price you pay it is so worth it I promise you but you'll probably be too full for dessert lol read more

Average food, nothing to write home about. My friend and I each had the haddock sandwich with fries. Huge piece of fish sticking out way beyond the dimensions of the bread. For some reason the wrapped silverware only had a knife and a spoon. We needed knives to cut these big sandwiches but we had to wait five minutes for someone to come by(not our server) to ask for knives. Fish was ok, not special. Another condiment with some spice would have livened it up more than the tartar sauce that was served. Also server tried to rush us out before we finished our food. Such good food in a casual setting. The day we were there is was a blustery winter day and the restaurant was cold. They have metal chairs and they were so cold it was hard to be comfortable. I get that the people working are comfortable but it seems like they could understand the diners need to be comfortable as well. Tried this place when visiting Augusta and the food was amazing! We got the lobster roll with mayo and a side of butter to drizzle, poutine, and the pulled pork poutine burrito. It was absolutely delicious and our food was done in less than 15 minutes, so hardly any wait. It was nice inside but the real experience is dining outside in the beautiful summery, windy Augusta and knocking back a fat lobster roll and a Maine Root Blueberry soda. The lobster roll was chefs kiss, 10/10, delicious. The meat was very tender, sweet, juicy, flavorful and simply the best lobster roll I've ever had in this area. I ordered mine tossed in mayo and they put just the right amount, with butter on the side that I drizzled over every bite. If I could eat this everyday I would! The poutine was phenomenal, 10/10, and hit all the right spots. The gravy was so flavorful that honestly they could leave the fries bland and it would be enough but they still choose to give you a bang for your buck and make the fries delicious on their own. I would eat this everyday as well (if I could!) Hubby said the pulled pork poutine burrito was 10/10. It came with a boat load of seasoned fries (rosemary, salt, garlic, etc. YUMMY). Terrific spot! Just smashed their delicious (and HUGE) Haddock Tacos!!!! Seriously, each taco was the size of a FULL SIZED BURRITO!!! The price was extremely reasonable for the portion size!! Tasty sauces, fresh veggies and the service was super friendly & helpful with ordering (my trying to decide what to order from the various yummy options) It has a great seating area inside and lots of great umbrella covered seating outside. (Note, there is a lot of traffic noise for eating outside) My photos only show about 1/3 of the seating. There's several other tables to the left as you go in. I may bump up my rating after my next trip in to try one of their sandwiches or Mac n cheese options. We went to Two Maine Guys, for the first time, last week. We were not disappointed. I had the Caesar salad, with grilled shrimp and it was delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, with hand cut fries and he loved it. The service was fast, wait staff was polite, and there was constant traffic, in & out of the place. Food is delicious. The breading on the haddock filet is thin, very crispy, perfectly stuck to the fish. (not slipping off and no puddle of grease in the container)... it's also a generous portion so you are getting money's worth. The sweet potato fries are also perfectly crisp and fluffy, not dense. The little bit of brown sugar dusting is also a nice sweet addition. Sauces on side are good too. Haddock "tacos"... don't expect a couple of little tacos you can pick up and eat by hand. These are two flour tortillas STUFFED. Not authentic at all, definitely their own style of American fish tacos. I picked the grilled haddock and it was delicious... although I think it should be offered 3 different ways.. a burrito, or as a big salad so long as you are using a fork to eat it, or 4 tacos you can pick up to eat.
