Lisa's pizza has been a staple in my family for the decades we've been vacationing on Rodanthe. The pizza is good enough for what it is and their other menu items are fairly good if you aren't in the mood for pizza. Chicken parm is a decent portion. Their Caesar salad is fresh with rich green lettuce and an excellent Caesar dressing. It is a small location with long wait times, whether eating in or taking out so factor that into your planning. They do have a small bar with a few beers on tap to hang at while waiting for your meal. read more

After reading the reviews for this place we decided to give this place a try. Overall not overly impressed as with most of the food choices around this area. The pizza seemed to be a frozen crust and very similar to a little Caesar type pizza. We are from the northeast, so maybe we expect a different quality pizza? The location was easy to find, but all the signs made it a bit confusing. The restaurant has a window on the side for social distancing, which was great as they were a bit relaxed with Covid safety down here. This place gets fairly good reviews, so we will give this place another try next time we are down, maybe they were having a bad night. read more

Solid pizza place for it being where it is, super casual (there were people barefoot in the restaurant) and the food comes relatively quick. Seating is limited but the turnover is pretty quick so you shouldn't have to wait that long to get a table. Would definitely recommend if you have kids. read more

Lovely little restaurant/bar. There wasn't a crowd when we went after 12pm. Staff wonderfully allowed a couple of the kids who have sensory issues to sit at a separate table. Our server was the right amount of attentive and friendly We got three large pizzas, cheese fries, and breadsticks. A pepperoni, a cheese, and a pepperoni and sausage. Pizza is great. Feta on the 4 cheese pizza is a bold choice not received well by the teens at the table, but I like feta so it worked for me. Staff was hurried but friendly. We dine here every summer with our group of 12 ! They do have some seating inside as well as a few picnic tables outside . The staff is absolutely always friendly and welcoming. The Buffalo Pizza is absolutely super yummy , I never knew I'd like red onions on pizza till I had it here ! For over 35 years, Lisa's has had this effect on visitors and locals alike, offering several varieties of delicious pizza and sandwich options. We were recommended the chicken pesto pizza, by staff, and they were spot on! The draft menu has something like 9 handles, offering an appeal to all. The food choices in Rodanthe are incredibly limited in December! With good reviews, this place seemed promising. We arrived around 6pm on a Thursday in December and all the four seaters were taken. There were larger tables available such as the six seater but we were told to wait in the waiting area until a four seater opened up. Ummmm... ok. I get it... I had a restaurant myself but it's December in a tourist beach town. With two kids in tow, I wasn't happy about waiting the 20 minutes. Even a local asked why we were waiting when they were obviously open tables. Anyway... we were starving and ordered garlic cheese bread, chicken wings, and mozzy sticks for starters. Not terrible but not great either. Kids shared a lasagna which they didn't devour. It was heavy with tomato. Pizza was ok to good. I added fried chicken to the pizza and got a grilled looking chicken breast. Dry in texture. Hubs got a salad that was lackluster, and rather small in portion. For an appetizer it would've been fine but not for a meal. Will not come to this establishment again. My appetite was already diminished when you couldn't help but look at all the cleaning supplies, since it was right under the tv. Cmon! Help me out a little. Mediocre pizza after a 3 HOUR wait!! We placed our order at 7pm on Saturday night and were told because they were really busy, it would be a 90 minute wait. Ok. So we got there at 8:30pm to pick up our pizza. The guy at the bar then told me it would be another 20 minutes. At 9pm, he told me it would be another 20 minutes. We finally got our order at 10pm. And it wasn't even good pizza. And no one even apologized. Just kept saying how busy they were. If I had known at 8:30pm that we would have had to wait another 90 minutes, we would have cancelled our order and cooked dinner. It would have taken less time and aggravation. Lisa's, however, still had a good crowd rolling in. We were immediately greeted and sat. The servers were so friendly and welcoming. I was happy to see a draft list with several local brews! We always get food delivered from Lisa's on the evening we arrive in Rodanthe. All the food we've tried on the menu is great, but the pizza is absolutely fantastic! On turn around days they are usually very busy, but still get us our food relatively quickly. Now on rainy days or "lazy" days we order from Lisa's also. Lisa's is one of the very few pizza places in the nearby area and one of the few fast takeout places that was open at around 5pm on a Saturday. Not surprising, it was super busy, but they have a solid system for taking orders and getting food to the customers. Of course when they are busy, it takes time to fill orders, but they text you when it's ready, and they nailed how long it would take (35 minutes). So, bravo on being open and figuring out how to effectively handle the huge surge in customers. On the other hand, the pizza was OK, but nothing special. HANDS DOWN the best pizza I have ever had. I am so glad I tried this place when we were leaving the island. It was the cherry on top to such a great trip. We called a take out order in and it was ready in 15 min! We thought it would be messy to eat pizza in the car but the perfect crust held up wonderfully. It was crunchy and perfectly salted. After an hour we were still waiting for our texts. When my friend called they answered and said "yeah it's been ready" as if we were supposed to find out through PFM that this pizza was ready. What we should have done in hindsight is to have them deliver as we are literally across the street. Regardless when we went over there to pick it up no one seemed phased or as if they noticed that we had 1- literally just gotten off the phone with them or 2- had lukewarm/cold pizzas waiting for us. Now on to the pizza. The pizza itself way less than mediocre. For the most part the cheese wasn't melted. Fascinatingly enough, the dough was equal parts undercooked on the inside and dense and over cooked on the crust. I mean I don't expect much from a vacation pizza spot but I would hope for at least something edible. I went in with low expectations so it's not a 1 because at least the cashier smiled when taking our order but that's about all that created a positive experience with this establishment.
