What happen to Lisa place is my question the food use to be super good .. Now the food went way down hill. And the prices geez . Pancake was flat and cold . The breakfast Burrito had an off flavor . Our group of about 20 students from UC Davis rolled in right at opening time and all ordered different things, the waitresses and the cooks did a splendid job on serving us in a timely manner despite the sudden rush. They were also very welcoming and great to have a conversation with. We also got to meet THE Lisa! Great food and experience. read more

BEWARE! Hours are not correct!! As a business, whether you are in a small town or not, very important to keep your days/hours updated on the internet. Even on the sign by this establishment the hours read Tues through Saturday. But when you call the phone number on that sign the message states Lisa's place is only open Tues through Friday. Did not appreciate wasting time making a stop off of our freeway route to find this place to be closed on a Saturday morning!! read more

The burgers were fresh, hot, and delicious, and there were onion rings which were hot and crispy. I remember thinking, "Hey, I can taste the ground beef and it tastes like real ground cow." You know, instead of just tasting condiments? There was peach pie as well. It was good, too. read more

A great place for delicious food and great service. We traveled from South Carolina to meet family we have not seen for a few years. Lisa and all the staff were very engaging and even overheard my comment on the " strawberry rhubarb pie" and saved me a piece before asking as it was almost gone. Again today, as I took my friend to breakfast at Lisa's for his birthday, I was reminded of what is the best thing about the place. The food is generous and good, of course, but Lisa and staff are wonderful. Lisa came over to express sympathy to a lady who lost her husband recently. They were loyal customers. Later she came to me to offer similar sentiments about a friend of mine who passed. My peers think very highly of Lisa and the very nice staff. All show a "family-like" rapport with customers, appreciate humor and work to make you comfortable. If we did not enjoy the food, we would not return. This is the place to go if you're looking for the place that Time forgot. The Decor is straight from the Carter administration. Food wise though it is pretty darn good. Make their own bread and their own pies, I had the chocolate pie and it was pretty good. It did not take me long to eat all of my biscuits and gravy which was one the best that I've had and my wife finished her meal which almost never happens. She loved her French toast and homemade bread. My brothers cheeseburger was obviously hand formed and it made me jealous just to look at it. Price is all right as well. One downside is lack of quick service. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our coffee and sodas filled but took a while for the food to come out. We should have turned around when we walked in and the dining room was filled with smoke and smelled of old oil. We are assuming their exhaust was broken. It took 10 minutes to get a menu and another 45 to get our food. The burgers were pre formed and small, the lettuce salad was warm and portions were small. Had to wave at waitress to get our bill. What a place! The environment is very, let's say, interesting. I think they're going for a ranch theme. That aside, you can't get a better breakfast for the money. I once had a contest to see who could spend the most at Lisa's. It's hard to go over $10, no joke. Their homemade bread on the egg sandwiches are delicious! Had a tasty lunch at Lisa's. Had 3 taco's and they were monstrous and full of meat and the trimmings. The menu is stacked with home cooked meals and burgers and chicken. I'm not a dessert guy, but everyone here raves on all the homemade pies and desserts. They look great. Definitely worth the drive where ever you are coming from! read more

Good food but could use some remodeling/updating. We went on a Sat morning and even though we were seated quickly it took about 45 minutes to get waited on...then another 4o min for food to get served. Don't go if you're in a hurry. read more

Wonderful little restaurant. The staff is very friendly. They don't accept credit cards but our waitress offered to let us just mail them a check or cash to cover it later which is extremely rare for any business to do. Lisa's Place has the best daily specials. Each day you can get something different. When you walk in look at the board or check with your waitress. Today was tacos , hot pork sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy and a pulled pork sandwich. The hot pork sandwich was so good with mashed potatoes and the gravy. The fresh baked bread was so good! Bring on the breakfast! Haven't been in years, but definitely had the home-grown feel. Located in the old cattleman's, I could never get enough biscuits and gravy and my dad never enough coffee and chitchat. Lisa's Place.. The first thing you will notice about Lisa's is the location, it's interesting. This is not a bad thing at all, actually its rather quaint. Once you get inside and sit down it does whats the name implies, it has that at home feel. Your opinion will soon change once you order a meal unfortunately. I have ate there several times hoping to get that down home feeling, sadly it never happened. The meals are tasteless and lacking that home cooked experience the name might imply. Don't get me wrong, the food is reasonable on price so much so you might want to put up with the bland food, and the exceptional service. I have ordered food that uses, instant potatoes, vegetables out of a can, sauces and gravy's that I am unable to describe the flavor to you. I will point out that none of the food that I have ever ordered was greasy beyond belief, it has all been greaseless. The service and the staff have been exceptional as far as I am concerned, well groomed, down home nice, and pleasant. In conclusion if you looking for a cheap place to dine you can't go wrong with Lisa's Place. If you like great service you can't go wrong here either, if your looking for down home cooking try somewhere else that might include a touch of flavor. By the way the coffee is quite good if you want to stop by for a nice cup of joe. *As an update, I invited some friends to come along to see if I was that far off the mark and they all were in agreement with the review.
