Was passing through town and stopped for breakfast around 9am and was told we beat the Sunday church crowd. The food was amazing! The staff were all so pleasant and our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant is cute and was bright, lively and welcoming. My daughter is gluten free and ordered the cinnamon roll gf pancakes. She said it was the best gf pancakes she has ever had. Not grainy and great flavor. My husband ordered the Irish Benedict and said the hollandaise was really good, he loved the flavor of the corned beef and his egg was perfectly poached. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We shared a short stack since the pancakes looked so good and we were happy we tried as the pancakes were fluffy and flavorful. On top of the flavor, the portion sizes were huge and we all had leftovers. If we ever find ourselves passing through we will stop back. read more

A solid location for breakfast! I opted for a scramble and the food arrived quickly, was delicious, and service was excellent. The space itself is very welcoming and open, and even when busy, the noise level is very manageable which makes this a great location for brunch with friends and catching up. This is a really nice area being built up near Davenport, which we frequently stop in to charge our Tesla between the Chicago burbs and University of Iowa to see our kid. This pancake place seemed like a good option instead of McDonald's for a quick breakfast while we charged. Flips has a very standard breakfast diner feel to it, nothing especially notable about that, but I would say I like the wallpaper in the bathroom. We sat at the counter so we could eat quickly and our service was pretty good. We liked the hostess who filled our water and sat us as well as the waitress who took care of us. For my meal I tried the corned beef hash which is my go to breakfast. I did this instead of focusing on pancakes as my daughter did the "I Love PB" flipjack and this Flips only has maple syrup. I won't get on my soap box at the moment but I strongly feel that a "Pancake house" should have multiple syrup options. My food was fine, it was a standard corned beef hash and eggs I can get at any other mediocre diner in the US. The breakfast potatoes were notable in that they were worse than most other breakfast potatoes. I tried my daughter's pb flipjack, and while it looked impressive, I was not wowed by the bite I had. She did enjoy them though. My meal did come with standard pancakes, and they were pretty good. I think putting butter on them as soon as they come off the griddle instead of powdered sugar and having more than one syrup option would have elevated them nicely to a great status. My wife and I shared the mimosa flight was a good value and they had 5 flavors to pick between. We did the cranberry, strawberry, pineapple, and pomegranate flavors. Our first time here. Very nice, bright and clean little breakfast place. Great service. I'm not a pancake person but wow, the pancakes were great! Fresh fruit was also very good. Hashbrowns were good and crispy on the outside, scrambled eggs were fluffy and tasty. Unfortunately, the bacon was totally unremarkable. No real bacon flavor, just boring pork flavor. Overall, good... just not excellent for a five star. But because we have family in that area, we will be trying again! read more

We have enjoyed each visit we have made Establishment. The food is always hot and good. They have a fun menu. I am gluten-free and tried their gluten-free pancakes and they were the worst I've ever had. They are very grainy and dry. Other than that, I really liked my breakfast. Food was amazing, as always, it's a place to stop on our trip home, I always get the pancake flight, my wife gets a skillet, both amazing. Interior design is elegant for a brunch spot! I love the decorations of this place. It's very open. It does get a bit packed so you might have to wait. The food was absolutely delicious. I wish the avocado was used earlier since it is aging. Also I ordered a strawberry mimosa for $8 but was then charged for a sunrise mimosa for $9. Just a buck but still. Also once are food was given I was going to try to get ketchup but we didn't see our waitress for about 15 mins when she asked if we needed boxes. read more

This place is so flippin ' pantastic. These were some of the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. The hot syrup really leveled up the experience as well. They had a whipped cream that was partially whipped cream/ Cool whip and it was divine. I ordered the three meat skillet and it was a great portion ! I am so happy in a food coma. Food and service are amazing. Came on a tuesday morning so not extra busy like on the weekends. Iced carmel latte is so good. Bloody mary is also very yummy, little bit of spice just the way I like. Skillets are filling. Chicken fried steak with hashbrowns eggs and pancakes is to much. So had some to take home.Only issue we had was the price. If the price says $5 on the menu thats the price it needs to be on the receipt. And extra $3 is not much but not the advertised price is misleading. Otherwise i would have given $5 stars read more

I was very hesitant to say anything for a long time but i need to say something. About a year ago, i used to be an employee at Flips on Tanglefoot Ln. At my interview i told the person that was interviewing me that i was in the Iowa Army National Guard and told her ( her name was Natalie ) that i would be gone 1 weekend a month and 2-3 weeks in the summer. I got the job and in the beginning it was great my fellow employees were very sweet and kind ( Angel and Jenni ). But then i met the owners and managers. The wife of one of the owners was the absolute worst!! She basically would compare us to the moline flips and said that we are "not properly trained" when there was no organized training when i started and would degrade our moral. She even made a comment when i told her i was going to be deployed and said "can't you find another job that can deal with that?" Or when i told her i have AT in the summer, she was visibly upset and she told me thats the business time of the year. I had to bite my tongue several times of the insults i got from her for being in the military. There was also an incident between a manager ( his name is albi ) who put his hands on an EMPLOYEE because he was "upset" at this point i was fed up with there verbal abuse i was not going to deal with physical abuse especially at a place of work. I called the police but the employee didnt press any charges so nothing happened. I texted one of the owners ( his name is brian) that Albi made the work environment hostel and unsafe and i requested to move stores. He never texted me back so i had to contact a fellow employee to get ahold of him. I never got a call to come back nor wasn't moved to another store. In 2024 in March i was soon going to deploy and since i never got "fired" i told him i was going to deploy and his response was unprofessional ( pictures are showed) also was to expose some of the food quality that i think people should know. The espresso machine has NEVER been properly cleaned because they didnt have the correct tools to remove the filter so we washed it off with soapy water, the ketchup bottles get refilled every shift and never get new ones or use the FIFO ( first in first out ) method which personally thats disgusting. There was a time where we were serving EXPIRED Tabasco sauce!! I loved this place before i worked there now i NEVER will again. Disrespectful to customers, employees, and our military. PS. Never heard from the owner when i could get my job back still LOL. read more

I ate there for the first time in September of 2024 and the food was very good. The QC has great breakfast restaurants, Flips, QC Pancake House in downtown Rock Island, Jimmy's in Bettendorf, and Two Sisters in Milan. The Family Restaurant at the Village Shopping Center in Davenport is very good too and open for dinner. read more
