    Busy weekend morning
    Mark D.

Flips definitely has good breakfast. Four of us have been here at least a couple of times and it's constantly good. Weekend morning wait time here was about fifteen minutes. This trip I had their chicken and waffle. It was served hot and was clearly cooked with care. The fresh squeezed orange juice is delicious. All up, breakfast for four was just over eighty bucks, $100 tipped.

I'm not sure why there's only one review of this place, but walking in here it was packed. There was a wait, but it was very short and was seated quickly. The interior is very aesthetic, and is perfect for pictures. I ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast which was $15, and you might think that it's overpriced but seeing the amount of smoked salmon I was given, it was worth it. The coffee was very bold and smooth, perfect for the snowy weather we had this day. We also ordered other menu items, but among that was a banana nutella crepe! It was served with edible flower petals, and was the most aesthetically pleasing plated food out of all the other menu items. Service was good, always making sure my cup of coffee was full and cups were full of drinks. I wish there was one back home in Georgia because of how good it was!!

The food is good but not out of this world. More so just nice presentation. It's always busy and is on the more expensive side. I got the salmon avocado toast and it lacked flavor. I prefer my own that I make at home for a fifth of the price :/ *also I will add, the aesthetic in here is cute and is why I came for my birthday to take pictures, but it really didn't turn out great because you could see everyone eating behind us and it just felt crowded. I wish we had better options for picture-ready restaurants!

Overpriced. Nearly $20 plus tip for an omelet with no meat, potatoes, one slice of toast and water. Service was good.

Food was very bland and the eggs weren't cooked so had to send it back. The waitress was incredible but won't be returning.

It helps that the restaurant also has a giant sign so it would be very hard to miss the building. I entered on the side where, I think, I drove over the curb to get to the parking lot but there was no big issue. It also helps that I got the first parking spot luckily. Outside the building is very nice. My daughter noticed, and the loved, the pig in the front and the tractor. Once we got inside, she was mesmerized with everything the place had to offer. I also enjoyd how they offered a toy tractor to play with while we are ordering and eating. For my late breakfast, I had the Country Breakfast with the country fried steak, sunny side up eggs, shredded hash browns, and toast. I thought we could get the shredded hash brown casserole but must of been a mixup between me and our waitress or the cooks in the back. The country fried steak was delicious. I enjoyed the rest and it is your typical breakfast restaurant...good ole hearty food. My daughter, surprising, ate most of her food and hers + mines toast which was rare. Of course, we had to leave the restaurant with a new brand toy. She thought the one we got the table was hers to keep as well but she quickly understood that it was not and she got another toy to play with. Overall our server was nice and the food was delicious. I would return in the future if I am in the area again.

Arriving an hour before close, we waited at the abandoned host's station for over five minutes. When the woman who would become our server (Amanda) finally meandered past, she vaguely waved at the empty tables and told us to seat ourselves, and she would get to us. This three-starred apron-wearer then told us, when we asked for a breakfast menu, that everything was already included on the back of the lunch/dinner menu; fortunately a good server heard us, and brought us the actual fuller breakfast menu. This allegedly-experienced server then didn't understand three different menu items about which we asked, brought food wrongly-prepared, didn't understand what 'over-cooked' meant, and was actively snide and put-out when we asked for biscuits/cornbread before our meal--as the franchise has been doing forever (and when we pointed this out, wondering if perhaps it was a recent change, we were flatly told that we were simply wrong). I've never before even had sub-par service at this chain, much less an actively hostile server. The food was fine-to-good, if mildly incorrect to what we ordered, and accompanied by things we **didn't** order. The restaurant and store were as expected, even if the registers were wholly unmanned alongside the empty host's station. It was nigh-empty for our whole time here, which tracks if the locals have had similar experiences. The capstone was Amanda telling us about her awfully long shift and how a boy was very sick here earlier in the day; wonderful imagery with a glass of whine for dessert--who could ask for more‽ (Don't ask for more.) This experience was sufficient to get me to redownload Yelp, log into Yelp, and write all this. I think that's noteworthy.

But my wife and I were quickly snapped back to reality... because that was the only thing that was 'quick' about our visit. Our wait to be seated during Saturday brunch hours was bearable -- 5-10 minutes for the small dining room. However once we were seated, it didn't really seem all that crowded. That's an important point because it took about 10-15 for anyone to come take our order, to offer us water, to say hello... anything. I had to grab our menus from another desk. Believe me, we were very tempted to leave. Someone who appeared to be in charge (perhaps the owner) came over in the nick of time. I ordered the muffuletta which was supposed to be served with puréed hot peppers and olive oil sauce. These were missing when the dish arrived tableside which was very disappointing. When everything was finally delivered, the sandwich tasted really good. But I can't get past the poor quality of service.

She was incredibly attentive and genuinely made our visit so much more enjoyable. It's always a treat when your food arrives nice and hot and yours certainly did. We tried a few different things from the menu. The "I Love PB Pancakes" were quite tasty, though we did notice the nutter butter cookies served alongside them seemed a stale. On the brighter side your avocado toast was a definite winner generous portions of fresh avocado which I actually ended up using some on my "Had a Crazy Night" burger and speaking of that burger, wow. It was cooked to perfection and had the most incredible flavor combination. Honestly that burger was the shining star of our meal and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting. We also tried the smoke and brisket skillet and later the brisket Mac and Cheese sandwich. While the smoke was good we found the brisket in both dishes a touch on the chewier side than we'd hoped for and for the Mac and Cheese it tasted a bit like it might have come from a pre packaged mix which didn't quite hit the mark for us. The side of tots were wonderfully crispy, but a dash more salt would have made them perfect. Overall, we had a really good time and we appreciate the care that clearly goes into your service and many of your dishes. We truly hope this feedback is helpful we think with just a few small tweaks those specific items could be as fantastic as your incredible burger. We'd definitely pop in again perhaps giving those brisket and Mac and Cheese dishes a pass next time around.
