What a HORRIBLE Customer Service experience today (8/19/2026) At Mr. Tom's Distillery!! I purchased (4) 1 Liter bottles ($102.03) of Orange Vodka on 7/22/2026 to take to our friends in Chicago, as they cannot get Mr. Tom's in Illinois. When we opened the 1st bottle to celebrate us being there, it had a very strong smell of rubbing alcohol and no orange odor, but like a maple odor. We all tried it and it was horrible. We opened every bottle, and all were just as bad. I called the Distillery on 8/11/2026 and spoke to TK and explained the situation with the 4 bottles. He was very nice and said please bring it back, they would make it right, they only want happy customers. I told him I was currently in Chicago, this was a gift and seriously, you want us to fly back with 4 Liter bottles taking up both weight and room? He asked if I had the receipt, which I did at home in Fort Myers. He instructed me to bring back a sample (in a water bottle or some kind of glass container), the receipt and the picture of the bottle for the label. He said they had changed the labels AND THE RECIPE to make it more orange flavor; big mistake on the recipe change. So, I brought a large sample back from Chicago, the receipt and a picture of the label of the bottle. My husband and I went into Mr. Tom's today (8/19/2026) with everything TK asked for. The employee (who originally waited on us when we made the purchase) tried a sample of what we brought in, then had us try another 'sample' from a bottle that was behind the bar of Orange Vodka WITH A DIFFENT COLOR LABEL and yes, it tasted correct; like the Orange Vodka we have been buying for almost 8 years. He went to the back to talk to TK, came back and said, "Let's open another bottle (from the shelf with the same color label that was on the bottle we tried behind the bar, "not" the color label of what I originally purchased) and if it tastes right to you, you can have this bottle to replace what you brought in. But you will need to bring the other 3 bottles in get them replaced". SERIOUSLY! That is not what TK told me to do when I called from Chicago to inform them of the horrible smelling and tasting Orange Vodka. Flabbergasted that this how they would treat a customer of almost 8 years, who brings friends to do the tours (which means we all buy alcohol), buys their garb for me, my husband as well as for gifts for our out of town friends, plus having custom engraved bottles made for special birthdays (I hope you are no longer using The Grumpy Mermaid bottle as one of your examples) ......I was stunned, as was my husband. Still shocked from his response to what he was offering to "make it right", I told him to have a nice day and walked out empty handed......I will NEVER buy another Mr. Tom's ANYTHING and I will make sure all Mr. Tom's logo garb/bottle stoppers/shot glasses are thrown away; not even donated. As my father used to tell me, the best advertising is positive word of mouth; the worst advertising is negative word of mouth..... read more

Cute distillery tucked away that made for a fun (free!) day activity during our visit! They offer daily free tours for those interested in distilling! I have been on a few distillery tours, and I found this one to be a bit casual and boring. It was super hot in there, so that might have been part of it too! I liked seeing the bottling station and some of the stuff shown was cool, but could have been half the time. After the tour, we came back to their small tasting and shop room with a bar and bar chairs. They lined up a BIG lineup of spirits and cordials to sample. This is the part I would have liked more time on! They handed out two, sometimes three of the samples at a time and spent barely any time talking about them, the flavors, and what went into creating them. And they were good - it was a shame to go so fast through them! Regardless, a fun free activity if you're a spirits fan and want to sample some. Support a local business and bring some minis or a bottle home. Oh - and they offer laser engraving for bottles and barrels! read more

Super fun and free activity in the area! The tour and tasting is free to do and I love a good distillery so it's always fun to see the inter-workings. They have a full bottling line which is impressive and rare! The tour goes pretty quick and they crank out the tasting flight but the products were tasty (even the usually not so easy ones to sip on aka non whiskey/rum). They have some fun swag in the bar area as well if you're looking for some merch to bring home. Definitely recommend stopping in if you have a free few hours and want to try some spirits. read more

Talk about small business with a big reach! This distillery makes for over 150 different labels! Say what?!?!?!?!!! Wow- that's huge! John and I sampled 4 spirits each and ended up buying 2 bottles and a little Mr Tom's bottle stopper- because I couldn't resist! John really liked their bar signage and they offer custom engraved bottles which can be sold empty of with liquor. We were there pretty early in the day- they opened at 9am!- and the guy behind the bar was so helpful and friendly. I had a great time here taking the distillery tour which was not only fun but very informative as well. We got to meet Renate and Tom the owners of the distillery and they couldn't have been any more welcoming. After the tour you go to the front of the distillery which is also a store and you get to sample all the different spirits they offer. We took off a few bottles a flicker, my personal favorite is the apple pie rum and I'm normally not a rum drinker but this rum you can literally drink without any mixers. When in Rome...stopped by to sample locally-made spirits. Our server and sprits-guide (lol) Chelsea took us on a journey of flavor exploration. We sampled an assortment of whiskey,'bourbon, rum, and cinnamon, key-lime, herbal, peyote, coconut, hazelnut flavor liquors. The freedom was one of our favorite, smooth going down. What was impressive of the flavors were the subtle hints, smoothness, without being sweet overpowering. Chelsea was beyond informative, helpful, and friendly. We were able to purchase an assortment of travel size bottles to take home. Sadly, they do not ship :(, but I f we are ever nearby we'll stop by to sample some more. A little out of the way and tucked enough to be a little hidden is this distillery. There is ample parking outside and upon entering, it's a small store that sells all of their items they make there! They offer a tour for $10 a person and it includes taking you into the back and learning more about how they distill their drinks and they show some amazing bottles that they have designed for various companies such as Harley Davidson that's located in Fort Myers as well. After the tour we were led back into the front of the store where we sampled an insane amount of their spirits that they made! Prices here are very reasonable for a small distillery and the workers are so helpful and friendly! They make very interesting spirits such as hazelnut rum and key lime as well! Wow, so glad to have discovered this local gem today! The tour is worth the visit and worth the cost ($10 per person, but got a Groupon for 2 people for $14.) Owner, Tom List, AKA Mr. Tom, starts the tour in the lobby of the distillery with a few samples and explains the history of the distillery. The tour then progresses to the back of the location where the distilling takes place. The distilling area is immaculate and clean! It would pass a white glove test! The distilling area is not air conditioned, so in the summer, be prepared with a bottled water. The tour returns to the lobby, around the bar, for more and more and more samples of flavorful whiskeys and vodkas! Everything I tasted was so robust and flavorful. The distillery is organic and kosher and offers some super sugar-free selections. There is a gift shop for purchases. Highly recommend. Tour and sampling lasts about 45-50 minutes. The tour comes with sampling of 16 different flavored liquors, a shot glass and a tour in the back of the tasting room. All of their products are organic and glutin free. It was great learning about their history in the Spirits Industry and getting a little tour of the shop. I was more impressed with the wide array of spirits they had available for purchase and how amazingly refined and smooth they were! We found List Distillery through a Groupon search for "things to do in Fort Myers." We are glad we did! When we first walked in there was a person sitting behind a desk and he said, "Hello," and made us feel welcome from the beginning. In true "me" fashion I did not read the stipulations about the Groupon, and our mouths dropped when the man had asked us if we made a reservation for the tour. Clearly we did not, because I do not know how to read the fine print. That aside, the man offered to give us a quick tour of the facilities, which was more than we could have asked for. It turns out the man that greeted us was none other than Mr. Tom! Getting a first hand account of how the distillery came to be and the intense process it takes to create their spirits from Mr. Tom was a real treat. Having the history of the company and the steps taken to create some fine alcohol be told by the owner himself was amazing. The tasting did not let us down either. It was clear that all the care taken into creating a wonderful product was not time wasted. The tasting ranged from assorted vodkas to rums and whiskeys; and none disappointed. They were flavorful, robust and smooth to the sip. We truly enjoyed our time at List Distillery and highly recommend it to anyone visiting in Fort Myers area! read more

Their Rums (and whiskey, bourbon, gin, etc) are the best liquors we've tasted in our life! The List family is *amazing* and I was blown away by their facility, process, and story. Being the first organic distillery (in Fla, I think), it was so impressive and their products are unbelievable! My favorites (which we bought) were the Key Lime Rum, Apple Pie Rum, Coconut Rum, and Hazelnut Rum. The tour and tasting was educational and so much fun! I counted 15 liquors that we sampled, which were all awesome! I will be back every time we're in the area to do the tour/tasting and buy much more of their liquor any time I'm in the area! I came here after we bought a groupon for a tour, tasting and shot glasses for my Dad's birthday. Little did I know we would come back multiple times through our visit! The groupon was a deal, but even to go without one is MORE than reasonable! Regularly it's only $10 for a tour and a tasting, and it is worth every penny. Tom and Renate, the owners, are wonderful people! Tom gives an extremely detailed tour of the facility, and explains exactly how the different types of spirits are made in their facility - which are all organic and gluten free! They also have a completely sugar free vodka, which tastes fantastic, and perfect if you're looking to limit your sugar intake! After the tour, you get to taste the spirits, and there is a variety of plain and flavored rum, whiskey, vodka, and gin. I haven't been able to stomach the flavor of rum since college (we all have that one drink...) but I gave it a go when the key lime flavor came out and OH MY GOODNESS - it's dangerous because all you actually need is some ice and you have yourself your summer drink! I bought a bottle of the vodka to take home, along with some small sample bottles of the key lime pie rum and hazelnut rum, though all the flavors are available in the big bottles for purchase, and many flavors in the smaller bottles. If you have an hour and are in the area, do not miss this spot! I would recommend calling ahead for the tours, as they tend to get busy over the weekend. GO - you won't regret it! read more
