I did like the artists though and they had quite a fan base. The lights were crazy. I could only sometimes catch glances of the headlining artist but couldn't have explained what he looked like. I'm glad I'm not sensitive to strobe lights. I imagine this was the artists choice. All in all, I enjoyed myself and hope to catch more music here in the future.

We went there to check out a newer dark wave band called Ultra Sunn on a Friday night. Upon entrance, the place wasn't too crowded yet. We were briefly searched upon entering, as most concert venues do, but I was surprised as venues this small typically do not. Brick By Brick shouts out dive bar vibes, but as you can see from the drink menu, they do not offer dive bar prices. Anyway, when we walked in, we checked out the venue. There was a swag area in the back, along with a water cooler and cups, which is always a huge plus. When we went to order drinks, we were served quickly. I had a couple of margaritas that night. One bartender was definitely more skilled than the other, but I guess it all depends who's working that night. As the evening got more crowded, we were still able to get a good vantage point to watch the show. However, this wasn't a sold out show. I think sold out shows could definitely pose a problem at this venue. The positioning of the bar sort of creates an L shape, meaning that if you end up having to watch the show from far back, you would miss the portion of the stage that is blocked by the bar. Interestingly, our show ended just before 12:30 and, as soon as it was over, the house music blasted "closing time" and bright lights came on. They definitely didn't want anyone hanging around. That said, I wouldn't make a point to specifically go to Brick By Brick, but if there is a cool band playing, likely tickets would be reasonably prices, and the the venue is decent enough.

I am booked for a guaranteed ADA seating which we have confirmed with our sponsor upon registration check-in. At the entrance of the Rady Shell, we were told to go to the ADA seating. However, when ai got there, these 2 fat asian employees ( who are letting people in on the ADA seating) and a white gentleman with glasses told me I couldn't ( without even scanning my ticket) and was told it's only for wheelchair people. I looked at the people seated and some are very young (kids and teenagers, some doesn't look like they were in a wheelchair because they walk straight and healthy. The asian girls told me to walk up higher and seat in the grass. My husband has to argue that I do have designated seating because of my stroke. Just because me face is pretty and didn't get affected by my stroke does not mean I am not disabled ( which I am because of my limp and balance/ fall risk). I was at the point of looking for our company/ sponsor employees to complain, when the guy finally scanned my ticket/ name tag and let us in ( which they should have done in the first place and not tell me stupid comments). It was dark and was not able to take pictures of their names tags( which I should have to so I can post who they were).

The symphony orchestra was flawless and added so much magic to the viewing experience. The seats were comfy and from what I could tell, every seat had a good view of the orchestra as well as the screens. The food, while tasty, was so expensive. A burger, fries, and a can of Pepsi for my son came out to $45 after tip. The can of Pepsi alone was over $5! Yikes!

They're infamous for having the which folding chairs ziptied together, which makes it not the most comfortable venue. And they now do standing only shows for younger audience acts, with no seating. They still have ADA seating for that if you need it. Parking is the other issue, since it's Shelter Island. Get here early for street or marina lot parking, just don't pay the high event price for the Humphreys lot.

If you are an average American (overweight) you can't fit in your chair and consequently take up your neighbors chair & space. Even when standing thete is NO room to let someone out in your row. The marketplace has everything you can think of that might relate to Tiki and Mid-Century Modern living. The seminars provide information on everything from how to make cocktails to history, movies, books, people, and any other topic you can think of... including some where you can make your own items with an instructor, like lamps, etc! There is so much to do or you can chill with your friends by the pool or at one of the bars or over a meal. At night, there is a concert every night with a mixture of types of music: you might find exotica, rockabilly, surf music, Hawiian sounds, you just never know! The people who attend are there for a good time and to learn, spend time with friends, show off their amazing outfits and overall HAVE FUN. I hightly recommend a visit. Start with a day at the marketplace and see what you think and if you want to commit to the full thing next year!

Volume not high enough to merit earplugs when standing just in front of the sound booth, but might have been close to necessary by the stage. System sounds pretty clear and well balanced overall. 2. Temperature: Eugh... Warm, oppressively so. Dunno if the AC was broken or just off, but it got toasty considering it was a show where most of the crowd were pretty static and there was solely a headline and no support sets. Outside temperature wasn't oppressive either, seemed worse than similar sized venues. 3. Plenty of parking for (what still seems to me an excessive amount of) $20 outside. Traffic getting out was chaos, with people cutting queues and nobody organizing egress until the actual gate.

I was disappointed on several levels: First and foremost, the quality of the comedians was mediocre at best! The crowd rarely laughed and when they did laugh, it was weak and unenthusiastic. I recently attended Jim Gaffigan's performance and laughed my ass off (and I don't laugh easily). Secondly, I got to the Fair a few hours early to see some exhibits and get dinner. When I presented my ticket at the main gate, I was told I needed a different ticket to enter the Fair. The gate agent referred me to her supervisor who said this problem has been happening all day to other guests. The supervisor directed out of line and to the Box Office. The Box Office agent said she could not help me even though I showed her my official eTicket to the Comedy event. She directed me to the far end of the fairgrounds to get my ticket to the Fair from The Sound box office.

From the planning to the final product, Jefferson made our event feel like the only event in the world. He has such a special charm and talent. During the wedding, all the music was picked appropriately, and when it was time to hit the dance floor, all our pics along with our families were played in really great mixes that were flowing harmonically. He takes every single detail in mind and into heart, really creating the perfect music for the event. He also sang a few songs for us and wow, what a voice. It turned out to be an absolute hit! He is not only incredibly talented, but so kind and professional too. He even customized his set to include my dad's Elvis favorites (and humored us when the birthday boy decided to "join in" on the performance ‍). The guests were enamored (especially the guest of honor!), and everyone raved about his voice and how perfect the performance was for the occasion. I would trust him a thousand times over!
