I reminded him I was already there and JUST walked out. He didn't care. "$10 to go in or leave" I let it go, I just wanted to wash my hands and didn't want to get into it with that loser. Met with my Husband he gives me cash and whatever decided i was just gonna pay to wash my hands. Come around the back try to hand security the money and that guy looked at me confused. I told him what pea brain in the front said about the cover charge and he shook his head and told me not to worry and go in. I was in and out quick and I thanked him for being a gentleman. Sooo, maybe you might wanna look into your shady a** security. 7/3 I get there at 1:30 bar area is empty we sit with my friend we are being served everything was great. UNTIL a security dude came out of NO WHERE, 30 mins into the 3pm game and tells me I need to move because i'm in the way. I told him I had been there since 1:30pm and no one told me to move and def didn't tell me about the "bar line" that I was all of the sudden in the way of. The bartender should have told me to move right away if i was in the way, WHEN THERE WAS MORE SEATS AVAILABLE!!! NOT WHEN IT WAS 30 MINS INTO THE GAME AND I HAD NO OTHER PLACE TO MOVE TO! IT WAS PACKED BY THEN! I really didn't appreciate that he was yelling at me, he was rude from the beginning and when i gave him the same energy back, he told me he was going to KICK ME OUT IF I DIDN'T CALM DOWN. He was giving LDE. When i asked for his name and to speak to the manager he walked away. MIND YOU.... after that some guy ended up standing right next to me the REST OF THE GAME. HE WAS IN FRONT OF THE LINE THE WHOLE TIME AND NO ONE SAID A DAMN THING. I have pictures with time stamps of this guy next to me the whole game. But some how he just wanted to be puffy chested with a woman. Horrible staff. Horrible place. Treat your customer's with respect, don't forget we are the ones that keep your doors open.

It made for a chill atmosphere. The jazz starts around 8. It's great to have places like this keeping jazz alive in LA. They also have other events like salsa on Monday nights. On Fridays and weekends I think it's more of a standard bar/club with a DJ and dancing. Would definitely come back again. Drinks were good. A little pricey but there was no cover so I'd say that's a fair deal. Service was good. Friendly staff. Entrance thru the alley so you might walk past it. It's downtown so there's street parking but it's probably easier to get a pay lot within a block or two.

The place was lively and had a great atmosphere. They have a nice selection of beers, and there's a pizza spot right next door, which is a huge plus. You can grab some food and take your drinks inside while enjoying the show. I was also really impressed with the sound quality. Everything came through clear and the venue has a great setup for live bands. Between the music, drinks, pizza, and overall vibe, we had a great time. Definitely a cool LA music spot. I'd come back again, especially to catch another live band!

The paramount is a small venue that has an attached ny pizza spot that's very tasty. It's great…read morethat it has a free parking lot for their patrons The only issue w the parking lot is that it's a few blocks away and there isn't any signage to tell you where to park. But once you find it, it's large, gated, and has a couple attendants watching the cars. You go upstairs and it opens up into a decent sized space. Large enough to hold people and dance, and small enough that you can see the band from every point in the bar. It has a long bar when you enter and looks like they'll take care of you for the night. At the far end of the venue is a little space. I'm not sure if they use that as their green room cuz it wasn't inviting you to come in. Overall, I think it's a decent venue. Not sure if the sound was an issue w the bands' equipment or The Paramount. I'd go back if a fave band of mine is playing.
