This was the last stop in a night where Conrad and I stepped out to LA to have a good time. So by the time I got there I was tipsy. I was not falling down the stairs, nor was I slurring my words, nor was I misaligning my pool shots, but I was definetely feeling the good inside my blood. I note this, not to highlight my cool factor as if I was a frat bro in a Florida party school, but more to describe how my experience was fogged by my consumption. This place was definetely a hot spot to hit, but I just will not be able to descrbie everything with speicifc detail, more, broad strokes of a good time. The place is reached by going down a flight of stairs, which feels like one is going to catch the J line in New York. I think I felt this more because of the Spring St sign- a famous stop in NY, NY. As soon, I got there, the goal was to continue the good time and this place allowed that at a reasonable price. They had these can drinks that I really responded and they were only 7 dollars. Ok, I know that saying something is only 7 dollars in this economy can seem out of touch. But a drink in LA most of the time will run you at least 12 to 16 dollars, and I think it is mostly on the 16 side. So finding a 7 dollar drink in a hot spot is refreshing. It was a Suncruiser- a vodka spirit based drink- that was part of their specials for their night. maybe is more expensive on other nights when it is not on special? After the drink Conrand and I stepped into their floor. It was the first time we were there and it is basically a basement game room on whatever it is that Bane takes to make himself go from puny human to muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle villain. There is a lot of pool tables maybe like 5, and I saw ping pong, and other table games. Additionally, instead of a speaker or a recorder- the one's that spin old timey records- there was a band. I took a short video of the band but I could not tell you if this band was good or bad or their name or their style of music. I was partly present, and I just heard the music, I did not appreciate the performers. It happens. So Conrad and I play all the time together. And I saw a guy playing by himself. We quickly introduced oursevles and then we played pool. Here is the thing that I am happy to write about this place. Unline a regular bar with a pool table, where every one knows your name, this place had the opportunity to meet new people. And I enjoyed playing with this guy. He was a new challenge. He had fresh stories. And he offered a view of the world I enjoyed. So this place offers the opportunity to meet new people over a game of pool. If pool is your thing than this place will make you happy an if pool is your way of meeting new folks then this place will make you happy and give you opportunities to find the folks you imagine you need in your life. In the final analysis, I want to go here again, and experience the place more broadly. Not sure if I will write a new Yelp, because even though I bared bone this one, it still gives the primary messages I want to. And to the guy who I played with thanks for having a good time with me, even if it was short. And sometimes, short, can be just enough. read more

I came here with a friend around 11:30pm on a Saturday night. We came looking to play billiards, and boy did we have fun!! We got on the waitlist for billiards and were able to start playing immediately. It was $20 for one hour and we played for two hours. The drinks were wonderful, my friend and I shared a purple ube cocktail and a fresh lemony gin cocktail. I can't remember what they were called but they were so tasty that we ordered a second round. The live music also made everything so special. The performers were absolutely incredible. It was a little bit crowded in there, which would be fine if people didn't keep crowding standing around where they shouldn't be. Last call for drinks was 1:30am, and I think last call for food was 12:30am. At 1:30 we were told to move away from the games area and go upstairs. Everythung was great until I heard a bartender say that me and my friend were overstaying our welcome ... it was barely 1:45 and we were finishing our drinks. That was rude... First time here and thought it was pretty cool. It's very inconspicuous and a nice bar with live music and pool! They have drink specials for decent prices and happy hour deals that have an open bar! It's not really in a very nice area, but that's most of DTLA. They have a $15 parking lot on spying that's close by like a 2 min walk. Also they charge a cover of $5 to get in! I had the most fun last night!! This venue has a big open space where you can see people play ping pong and pool and nights past 9PM amazing bands and artists come to play jazz!! The drinks are tastefully mix and you feel right at home. I was expecting my pretzel bites to be stale as most bars with food aren't that great but they were soft and salted. They consistently check your tables to check on you and remove finished drinks and empty dishes. PARKING was soooo easy to find. Right beside it there's a parking garage and the charge was $10 for a Friday night. I love this place and I can't wait to go again read more

Rhythm room is a vibe if you're into that old school underground music vibe and want to have a divey spot to hangout at. The food was surprisingly very good. My group ordered literally one of everything on the menu and it was all delicious. I enjoyed their steak sandwich and the burger alot. I honestly wanted to have seconds because it was that good but I had to keep the tummy at a decent level since we were out drinking for a friends event. I think the only thing that sucked was the fried pickles which is what we were all excited for. They're basically very oily and the pickles are cut SO thin that you get no pickle and all breading. Service was very quick and VERY friendly. They have 2-3 bartenders and they pump things out quickly. The live music is a vibe and I suggest coming here for a lowkey night. read more

Probably the most immersive, most unique & FIRST Jazz bar I've ever encountered in my life. I came across this bar through one of those Uber scooters, & decided to stop by (looked quite interesting). I went here to celebrate my 45th bd . Very cool place , was upset the lineup changed which was disappointing but we still had a great time . Unfortunately tried to play dominoes but it was missing one ( some one should check the games completion at the end of the night ,or before opening ) . Tried this place out while my Mom was in town because she likes Jazz. I enjoyed it for the most part. Has a New York style to it as it's underground. The Good: -The drinks are good -The food is VERY good, good portions too. -Lots of seating for the most part -Good amount of pool tables to play on -They bring the food you order to your table, so that's nice. The Not-So Good -Went on a Thursday and there was a $5 cover for some reason. I call this the not-so good because I went on the website and their (hardly updated IG) and there was NO MENTION of a cover. I know there was some live music for a few hours while we were there, but there was no mention of there being a cover. Not the worse thing but would have been good to know before hand. -Drinks are expensive. I've had plenty of more cocktails and food at other places and it never reached $200. It did here. Really came for the pool tables, although they have a wide range of table games and just the ambiance is really cool, it's on a lower level so it almost has a speakeasy feel. There's live music on specific days they even offer a calendar for who's preforming what nights. The drinks are well prepared and reasonable pricing. Stopped by Thursday night for a drinks and a few bites. I tried the burger, steak fries and popcorn shrimp . The burger was absolutely delicious. Steak fries were good size order and the popcorn shrimp came with two dipping sauces one was tangy and tasted like the Louisiana hot sauce and the other sauce tasted like a dijon mustard. There is a cover charge of 5 dollars you can pay with card or cash. There is a few seating area around the bar . I got there before the office crowd and a private event came in . It's a very lively bar it got crowded quickly. Slaw was called a simple slaw and definitely was. Never been to a place where the billiards table cost more than the drinks. Went there Friday night with people from work. It's a fun bar with pool tables, foozeball, table tennis. They also have big TVs and the dodger game was on. There was also a live band later in the night. I really liked the rice rice baby drink. But if you don't like sweet, then it's not for you. We also got bunch of bar bites. The popcorn shrimp had very little shrimp so I don't recommend those. The popcorn chicken was decent and the tater tots were nice and crispy. The bathroom was nice and clean. I always have a good time when I stop in RR and this past weekend was no different. Restaurant and bar hopping in neighborhood on Saturday and saw that they had live music going on so we decided to stop in. It was crowded but not overly crowded if that makes sense. Took awhile to get our drinks but once we did we were able to snatch up two seats quickly. I really enjoyed the singer. Honestly, there's nothing I could not appreciate about the joint. They have someone manning the door, and the mood is very relaxing. Dimmed lights, large bar, a section to drink/listen to music and a place for games. The bartenders were great, and are easy to talk to. They got creative in the way they named their drinks, and it tasted alright too. Price for the place and the drinks were pretty reasonable. I was playing pool in the section behind the entertainment, and I felt like we had our privacy even though we were in a social setting. Rhythm Room offers a little bit of something for everyone. After my first time here, I definitely agree that they deserve all of the high Google and Yelp ratings online. It's the perfect place for large groups, date nights, or just a place to chill and sip drinks or snack. They have several areas were they can accommodate a large group or if you and your companion just want to enjoy a relaxing board game/darts/pool in the corner away from the livelier crowd. Check their website for performances as they have rotating residencies with certain artists. The crowd is very laid back and unpretentious. There is definitely no drama here. Dress code is very casual. The performance that night was the Mark Pelli Band. Check out his instagram for a sample of his music. They do three 30 min sets and this particular night they had guest vocals/visiting singers . Most attendees in our group took a ride share over, but there is a $10 well lit underground parking garage right next to the venue. I wish there were more chill laid back places like this. I went for the first time before Covid and a few weeks ago with friends. They have pool, board games, and live jazz usually. It's not too loud for us millennials. it has a chill vibe if you're not in to the club scene. All my friends enjoyed themselves. Really cool underground bar/night club with great live music. We had no expectations we came by this spot and we had a really good time. The food was good and the music was even better. Here are some thoughts: Environment At the time you arrive you are greeted by security who will check your IDs. There is a cover charge to get in. I believe it was $5 and they do take cards if you don't have cash. Once you're in walk down a flight of steps with really cool decor. It seems like there might not be much to the place but then it opens up into the establishment with booths straight ahead, a bar to your right and further into the space is more seating, pool tables, ping pong, and shuffleboard theres are a huge projector that doubles as a stage for live music. The ambiance is real dope, it gives us gringy, speakeasy vibes but busy and lively. We came on a good night where there was great live music. You order everything at the bar - food and drinks. You can grab your drinks and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. Overall pretty easy and even when it was busy it didn't take too long to order and get everything you needed. Overall pretty good experience and really enjoyed the vibes. If you're look for a lighter crowd i suggest getting their early. It looks like it may pretty lively as the night goes on. Service didn't really have much service. The security was cool and welcoming - no issues there and the bartenders were pretty quick and efficient even with a huge crowd. Food and drinks The food was pretty solid. We had the nachos, the burger and some fries. All were good. Had a pretty good time here on a Saturday night. It was easy to find as there's someone outside checking IDs and taking payments. It costs $5 per person to get in. Once you walk in and walk down the stairs, it as if you've transported to another time period. The space is bigger than what meets the eye. There's a front area with a bar and some standing tables, an area for performers (and seats for patrons), and then some game areas. Getting a drink took a while since was only one bartender working on a busy Saturday night. I got the Frank Ginatra and was very pleased! It seemed like a steal to be able to get a good drink in LA for less than $20. I also tried the pineapple shot because it was $5. I wouldn't get it again. It tasted like pineapple juice with a splash of some type of alcohol. There are a bunch of board and table games to choose from if you're not interested in foosball or pool. I had fun playing battleship and some social/interactive card question game. The security guard that was there killed the mood at times with his herding and patrolling but out group didn't let him kill the vibe. It was interesting to listen to the cover band that went through a lot of great hits. If you're looking for a place that can facilitate a lower key night but still have fun vibes, this is the place to do it. read more
