i used gentile to move two apartments from Brooklyn to Huntington. I paid almost $10,000 for the moves. I had some valuable pieces so i "BOUGHT" $95,000 worth of insurance from Mr Gentile. The entire experience was a major rip off. Although several pieces were damaged Mr. Gentile agreed ONLY to TRY and FIX the pieces IF I SENT HIM MY $500 deductible check. He picked up items in perfect condition and broke them but will only fix them???Even if fixed the value of these pieces is gone..... and i have to pay to fix them??? what about the "INSURANCE"??? Fraud???? Also, i paid $45 to pack a large box that was filled with lots of paper and two frying pans.... almost all of the boxes were mostly paper and empty....so unless you are going to watch and supervise the packing you will definitely be ripped off by having them pack. All of my kitchen drawers were not packed..how would i have known this unless i unpacked every box ( about 100 ) before the movers left???? Also left in the apartment as was an antique rug. He said he is NOT RESPONSIBLE because i stupidly signed the day of the move without realizing these things were missing so ....tough luck on me!!!! if you use GENTILE MOVERS make sure you check everything at the new house because if you miss anything ( while in the throngs of moving stress) you are screwed! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you have a small easy move without any valuable belongings.....and do not care about being robbed! read more

I have used Gentil Moving numerous times and have referred them to many people, and they have always been top notch. My elderly parents recently moved from their long time home to a smaller downsized house near me. To say the least my parents were not super organized and they were moving the contents of the home they have lived in for 60 years. I could not be with my parents when they came to give an estimate, but my mother raved about how easy, professional, and understanding they were. Michelle in the office is an angel and she worked with both my parents and I to make the move happen despite difficult circumstances. On move day a truck from OSHEA moving came to the house. I was told that the company is shifting gears and is now partners with OSHEA Trucking/Moving. The crew that showed up were amazing. They lived up to what I've come to expect from Gentil Moving and more. I cant say enough about how fast and hard they worked, and how they were the kind of people you didn't mind having in your home and dealing with your parents. Gentlemen for sure. Worst moving experience. I moved within Long Island, and thought it would be a great experience, I was wrong. Of course it started off great, Paul in the office was very professional and seemed trustworthy and is the reason I choose the company. He answered all my questions and gave me a reasonable quote. Then it all changed.... The "movers" ( I use the term movers loosely because they barley moved at all) worked as slowly as they could, seriously, they moved in slow motion, they would carry one small box at a time, imagine a ring-bearer at a wedding walking down the aisle, that was each mover. I moved 3x more furniture and boxes to the truck than 3 men did combined. Let me repeat that, one person did 3 times more work than 3 people combined. They moved like the got paid not by the hour, but by the second. Lazy, lazy, lazy. If it wasn't for me moving items, the price would have skyrocketed. And then of course, there was a probelm with the contract, they tried to extort an extra hour of time, and then stood their expecting a good tip. Historically, I've tried to go the cheap and easy route with movers and I've always been disappointed. After working with Gentile, I'll probably never work with anyone else again. When they showed up, I was honest with the team that I'd had bad experiences in the past; they reassured me that they would be careful with my things. Communication was fantastic starting from the initial quote to the end of the move. The team arrived right on time, early in the morning. They professional covered all my furniture - wrapping it in pads and wrap to ensure everything was safe from dings. Upon arrival to our final destination, they laid down floor runners/protectors (which I LOVED given my brand new floors). They worked so efficiently and the team was kind of and professional. I have used Gentil to move twice in the last 9 months. I sold my home and was moving temporarily into a rental home before eventually moving to my new condo...but all plans have changed due to this pandemic and I had to put my belongings into storage and I will have to move a third time in a few months. Paul the owner has been wonderful to work with from the beginning. I used Gentil Moving this week to move from my house. They showed up promptly, and then efficiently moved the contents of my home and my storage unit to my new address. This is a 5 star company all the way with prices that are more than fair. The owner of the company came to my house prior to the move and gave me a fair and honest estimate. All of my questions along the way were answered in a swift, polite, and helpful manner by the staff. On Moving day I was met by Charlie, Kevin, Jose, and Daryl, along with one other mover whose name I forgot. These guys were the absolute best. I shopped around on short notice to move out during a renovation, I went with Gentil Moving because they had the best price. The move went well, with no damage and no extra fees. When the time came to move back into my house, I tried again to find the best price, and again, I could not get anyone for less (at least not anyone I felt I could trust). So now I've used this company twice within the last 6 months. I can say that they do a good job, they don't cause any damage, and even if you shop around, you're probably not going to beat their price. In particular, I'd like to give a shout out to my movers Charlie, Dave and Jose. They're beasts! They will move anything, and have twice the strength you'd expect. There was also a 4th guy, Kush, but he was pretty useless. He literally was in charge of moving pillows. Haha. If you get Charlie and his crew (minus Kush), you're in good hands. And if you do get Kush, at least you know your pillows will be well taken care of. read more

I have done my share of moving over the past forty years. This one was the most complex, moving from a pre-war Apartment Building with cramped elevators and basement ceilings to a 92 year old home with narrow corridors and low stairway ceilings. Paul responded to my call and came the next day to review the premises . He prepared an estimate on the spot. His professionalism registered with me and gave me confidence in awarding the business to Gentil. The movers, Dan, Eli , and Kevin arrived right on time , were very courteous, and knowledgeable. They had to work with some very tight geometry and complex angles in both dwellings. Some of this furniture was very heavy as well. Paul and all of his men are true gentleman. The company wasn't the least expensive quote I received, but when I met Paul for the walkthrough estimate, I knew he was honest and reliable. I had them pack all my belongings one day, moved the next. Everything went so smoothly, I and my wife were astonished. There was no stress and the guys were fun to be around and extremely efficient. After we got to our new home, we started to unpack, and found our winter coats were left in the old house. Totally my fault. I called Paul and to my surprise he was at my door the next day, I may add, over an hour drive in traffic during rush hour. There are not enough stars in the rating system to provide adequate praise. These guys were very good and the price was fair. I had two moves, one to a townhouse and another for most of my items to storage. Charles, Eli, and Jose did both moves, with help of two other guys the second move. Since we had two moves, it was a bit hectic and we had so many boxes, storage crates, furniture and glass items as well as another storage pick up. The moves were smooth, no issues, including making sure all the big ticket items were packed well and removed from the house without any damage. The guys were personable and worked very hard. I also had my doubts about the size of my temp. storage facility, but Charles did an amazing job and ultilized all the space .Thanks guys for a job well done, I will be back after I find my dream home for two more moves, as we will do round two. read more

Excellent moving crew, I'd give them 6 stars if I could. Charlie led the 5 man crew José, Jordan, Dave & Ron. They were supposed to arrive at 8:30 am but two trucks we're here at 8:15am ....while Charlie assessed the house the other 4 guys immediately started carrying boxes and never stopped. They emptied my fully furnished pretty large house in less than 3 hours....although not planned they agreed to stop at my sons house and loaded a few items for the move...some couches wouldn't fit thru the front door but with their skill and strength they managed to work them in...the job was finished a half hour early and my bill was lower than the estimate. The first time that Gentil Moving moved my family was 5 years ago. When we were ready to move again last month, there wasn't any doubt, it would be Gentil Moving again. We moved on August 3, 2016. Paul (the owner) had come to give an estimate prior to my move date and informed me that his estimates are usually high so there would be no surprises on move day, but that the move usually calculates out to be less than his estimate. I thought, this could never be the case, but was very happily surprised to find this to be exactly what happened. Paul took all of my information, answered all of my questions, and quickly helped me set a moving date. I recently used Gentil Moving (June 2016) and found the owner and his team to be extremely professional, honest, and competitively priced. They arrived on time and worked efficiently throughout the day and completed the move on schedule by end of the day. The crew was very helpful, courteous and went beyond in certain circumstances to make the move go as smooth as possible. Not an easy task. In addition, the two move trucks inadvertently damaged my black top driveway at the new house.
