We were also happy to learn that they do save tables nightly for walk-ins, if you are a table of two like us you can probably snag a spot on any given night. I had an outstanding Crush (strawberry rhubarb was the flavor of the day) and my husband ordered the Dad's beer on ice (local lager, clamato, lime, hot sauce, chili rim. You can also make this the 'Step-Dad' by adding a shot!) As per usual, we ordered a few things and shared it all. I absolutely adored the Chilled Tomato Gazpacho, it was so flavorful. I have been hearing great things about Little Donna's and I finally got a chance to try it. And I was really blown away. Stopped in last night for a friend's birthday dinner. They are known for their pierogies and pizza pies. We decided to try a plethora of items. For appetizers for the table we did the trout dip, pierogies, beef tartare and the tomato gazpacho. All of the items were tasty and delicious. For dinner and I wish I took pictures of the pizzas. We did the summer pizza which was their heirloom tomatoes and basil pizza, the fig and smoked Gouda and the tavern pie. Can I say i absolutely love their pizza's. The crust alone was my favorite. Little Donna's is tucked away in Baltimore, Maryland, and offers a cozy, intimate atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. The restaurant is on the smaller side, which adds to its charm, but it also means it fills up quickly. We visited on a Saturday around 6:00 PM and were quoted a 45-minute wait for a table, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Parking is limited to street parking, so I recommend arriving a little early to give yourself time to find a spot. Sitting at the bar ended up being a great choice. The bartender was phenomenal, friendly, attentive, and full of excellent drink recommendations that made the experience even better. For food, we ordered the Bianca pizza and a classic cheese pizza with oregano added. The Bianca was decent, but the garlic was a little overpowering for my taste. The cheese pizza, however, was the standout. The added oregano really elevated the flavor, and while it doesn't crack my personal top five pizzas (I review a lot of pizza), it comfortably earns a spot in my top eight. If I found myself back in the area craving pizza, I'd definitely order it again. Before the pizzas arrived, we were served fresh bread drizzled with olive oil, and it was absolutely delicious, a simple but memorable appetizer. On the drink side, both the IPAs and the strawberry crush were excellent and paired well with the meal. Overall, I'm giving Little Donna's 4 out of 5 stars. The service, atmosphere, drinks, and appetizers were all outstanding. The only thing keeping it from a perfect score is the pizza itself. For me, a 5-star pizza is one that I can't stop thinking about long after I've left and while this was very good, it just didn't quite reach that level. read more

The pierogis are some of the best things I've ever eaten. They are presented on chilli oil with chives, parsley, and sour cream. They are crispy in the outside with soft potatoey goodness on the inside. Absolutely incredible, haven't had anything like it in Baltimore (or anywhere). The pizza was good as well but incomparable to the pierogis. Very friendly and quick service. Cozy, tavern-like interiors. We had such a wonderful dinner here! The menu is this incredibly unique, comforting blend of Polish and Serbian influences mixed with cozy neighborhood tavern vibes, and everything we ordered was hit after hit. If you go, you should definitely have the pierogies. They are absolutely elite! Perfectly pillowy with a gorgeous sear, and you can tell they're handmade with love. We also tried the Fresno pizza and added a drizzle of hot honey to it, which was a total game-changer. The crust is incredible, and that sweet-and-spicy combo was perfection. For the rest of the food, the antipasto was a super fresh way to start the meal and a beautiful reflection of Polish cuisine! Definitely one of the most creative and tasty antipastos I've had. The chicken entree was wonderfully juicy and satisfying. We also really appreciated that they have a thoughtful non-alcoholic menu. Little Donna's is truly a standout restaurant in Baltimore, with wonderful "flatbread" nontraditional, pizzas, absolutely stellar salads, and artisanal cocktails that will blow your socks off. From the people sitting around me and my guests, the two times I've been, the other entrées came extremely highly recommended as well. The servers and bartenders are sociable, and where interesting conversationalist both times I've been, will never interrupting a conversation with my guest once it was flowing. It has a warm, inviting ambience, perfect for a casual date or something a bit more formal. It was 75 PP, and you shared all the plates. The interior was very homey, like grandma's living room, which I liked. We started strong with a Caesar salad that was unlike any I'd ever had. I usually *hate* radicchio, and this was the first time I barely noticed its bitterness. The next course of the beet toast with the meatball rillettes is also delicious. There is not one fault I can pick with ANY of the things I ate that night, so this review will sound repetitive, in that I'll say 'It was delicious/yummy/amazing' for everything. Because everything truly was. The Jonny cake with smoked Salmon, the potato dumplings with brown butter and sage, and the chicken with dauphinoise potatoes - everything a hit after a hit after a hit. The dessert was palacinke, which were Serbian pancakes, and that was a fantastic way to end the meal. You think '75 pp, and you're sharing one plate of each item? Weird.' Came solo on advice from a conference colleague - had as much of pickle plate as I could (enough for 2-3!!), had cheese pie w banana peppers - very tasty, I particularly enjoyed the crust even the edges!! I ordered the Granny's Meds and Season Crush (which was muddle blueberries). My friends ordered the Granny's Meds and The Old Grandpa Tut. We decided to order family style. The special lobster pierogies were THE star of the meal. The flavor was incredibly amazing and the chunks of lobster were tender and delicious. The crab and cheese soufflé were the runner up. Beautiful texture and the hollandaise was so rich and decadent. The special scallion ceviche tostada was next. Beautiful ceviche. Followed by the Serbian pancakes, although we all agree we really didn't taste the crab or hot pepper chilli on the pancakes. However the cucumber salad and pickled onion were amazing. Followed by the traditional pierogies with sausage and kraut were phenomenal. Bottom of our list was the gig and smoked goods tavern pie. Still very good - the spicy apple jam was incredible - but we really didn't taste the smoked Gouda. For dessert we ordered the special bread pudding (with homemade focaccia and apricot) and the blueberry tart both with a huge dollop of whipped cream. All I have to say is holy shit!! Little Donna, I'd leave my partner for you. In all seriousness, the best meal I've had in Baltimore in recent memory. We got extremely lucky and managed to snag a reservation for two on a Friday night one week out. Cozy atmosphere that feels welcoming and doesn't have the stuffiness we sometimes find with nicer restaurants. Get the pirogies! They had a special with lobster but we opted for the OGs and they didn't disappoint - I wish we had gotten two orders. All the food was excellent though - the smoked trout dip can only be described as a fusion of flavors that left me fiending for more focaccia. Also ordered the tuna tartare and tavern pizza; the latter landed on the table and was snagged before I could take a picture. This time, we didn't have a reservation but didn't mind waiting since it was a Saturday night and we really enjoyed our last experience at Little Donna's. I had been craving pierogies all week, so we decided to make the trip. We ended up waiting a little over an hour to be seated. Once we sat down, it took quite a while before anyone even brought us water--probably around 20 minutes before someone finally came by to take our order. We started with the pierogies and the pickle plate. The pierogies were okay--not bad, but definitely not as amazing as I remembered. They were a bit over-fried and lacked filling. The pickle plate, unfortunately, was not good at all. The pickles were overly sweet, and the rest of the vegetables didn't taste fresh. It actually made me feel a little sick afterward. For our mains, my husband got the Taco Pie and I had the Cheese Pizza with Pepperoni. My pizza was decent--nothing special, but enjoyable. His Taco Pie, on the other hand, was disappointing. He regretted ordering it. Overall, this second visit was a letdown. As a peirogi lover, its so refreshing to have a spot that can satisfy that as well as other delicious foods. I was very excited to finally try Little Donna's but unfortunately left very disappointed. We arrived early to our reservation and they were able to immediately seat us which was great. Cocktails were good, but our server forgot to put our order in so we had to wait a long time to get our food. She came back to our table to re-ask us what our order was since she never put it in. The lobster pierogis were phenomenal, but we did scarf them down since it was about an hour since we ordered and we were starving. For $36, I wish I had just ordered the normal pierogis. The catfish came out around the 1 hour and 30 minute mark, and while it was delicious we ate it so quickly because we were starving. We wanted to order another appetizer or a pizza, but we decided to leave and go somewhere else since the food was taking so long (we ended up going to Bar Alice Anne, their food was incredible and much faster!) This experience was really disappointing as we made this reservation to celebrate our engagement, which we put in the reservation notes and they fully ignored, and overall it was just not a great experience. My friend and I treated ourselves to an early Mother's Day meal. We took a nice half hour stroll in the neighborhood while we waited for two seats at the bar. Eddie the bartender took great care of us and was very personable. He crafted a couple of nonalcoholic crushes for us (1 rhubarb, and 1 pineapple) and made a few menu recommendations. I'd just been talking about tomato pie with someone so I couldn't help but order it, and Eddie suggested that we have it come out after the small plates. We would not have had table space at the bar for it all at once, anyway so this was a sensible move. The Maine lobster was suuuuuuper flavorful and I don't even like lobster. The krokiety was much more delicate and subtle with its lemon aioli and a little lighter on the brown butter. The crunch of the crushed pistachio on top helped elevate it texturally. My friend loved the crudo. The first spread of food was so filling and delicious but I'll be damned if we didn't find room to destroy that tomato pie!!! Friends have raved about Little Donna's for so long and finally, my date suggested this place for dinner and I immediately said yes. We came at the beginning of the weeknight and it was full. We put our name on the waiting list for the high tops and grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited. I got their 3-2-1 Margarita which was delicious. Our first visit to Little Donna was incredible! From the moment we walked in, we loved the warm, cozy vibes and the eclectic decor. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and super helpful. Our server was Sully, who was fantastic and so attentive. We started off with drinks, I had the Dad's beer on Ice and my husband had The Old Grandpa. Both were great, and mine was enough to last the entire meal. For an appetizer, we had the Little Donna's Pierogis with lobster meat. It was heavenly, I can't even describe it - you have to try it yourself if you love decadent lobster! We also had the pickle plate, which had various pickled items and delicious deviled eggs. Our mains were also amazing. My husband had the pork schnitzel, which is stuffed with kielbasa, and it was five stars. The best schnitzel we've ever had, for sure. I had the chicken and dumplings, which came as the tenderest, perfectly roasted chicken thighs on top of pierogi dumplings and a delicious brown sauce. To end the night, we split the brownie sundae and had two after dinner drinks, the Flor de Luna and the Amaro Soldatini. It was the perfect way to finish the meal. I've been dying to go to Little Donna's for over a year after hearing such good reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The little krokietty with ricotta and squash were good and perfect for splitting in two, but the rest of the meal was bad to the point of us not finishing either of our dishes despite the expense. The pierogi were poorly made, what little filling was made was bland and unseasoned, the sauce was bland, the lobster was rubbery, I didn't find any of the bacon - I can't think of a single positive aspect of the dish, and I was so genuinely excited to eat it. The fig pie was super bland. We both wished it had had some acid to balance it out - balsamic vinegar would have been perfect. Didn't get any gouda flavor. Figs were very poorly cooked - likewise rubbery and unpleasant. I love every element of these dishes in concept but I found the result virtually inedible. And it was so expensive! It was so expensive and it all tasted so bad. It really hurt. Staff was nice, but also they brought my pierogi out long before my friend's dish and the timing and pacing was super off throughout the night. The lobster pierogies were like nothing I'd ever tasted before - the dough was soft but still a bit crunchy on the edges, the filling was silky, and the sauce was buttery and savory and so good I could have eaten it alone. Have you ever made a reservation but it truly never was made? I did this for the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving which, in the restaurant business, is a very busy night. Yet Gwen and Roo saved the night by allowing our party of 6 to dine outside on a chilly November evening in Baltimore! First, Gwen helped me navigate my reservation "confirmation" which I never truly completed. Oh my! I totally messed up and she could sense my despair so she conversed with her colleague and they agreed to unlock the outside tables and chairs and set us up out there for dinner. Please note, there are NO heaters. Do not try this on your own! Nor should you expect it to happen. Our meal was so so great!We loved our tavern pie with crumbled sausage and banana peppers, and two other pies that rocked! We also loved the Carolina smoked trout dip. The cutest little spot in fells. It was my first time in the neighborhood and everyone recommended I come here. I love pierogis but usually they are kind of bland, which was not the case here. We live in LA and visit the Arts District location often to see Chef Chris Bianco and enjoy the pizza. We have now visited Little Donna's twice, and it has quickly become our go-to pizza spot in Baltimore. Great ambiance throughout the small space. Dimly lit, moderate background noise. Staff are quite friendly and helpful. We have now had three different pizzas, all of them excellent: Cheese pizza, Bianca pizza, and the pear and smoked Gouda pizza. The latter two we paired with their hot honey sauce, and the cheese pizza we paired with their house-made ranch. Had such a delicious meal at Little Donna's last Saturday to celebrate a birthday! We just had such a great time, the only photo I remembered to grab was the lobster pierogi (usually comes in three, but we added one since we were dining as four!). Our waitress told us this is an item on the menu that rotates, and we are so glad we tried it! We also had the pickle plate (pretty standard with the addition of four deviled eggs which was delicious!)! For the main, we tried the tavern pie and persimmon and pecorino pie (which we added prosciutto on and definitely recommend doing). The pizzas are a good size but are really thin; the tavern pie has lots of toppings so it was hard to eat by picking up! We also had the schnitzel which was excellent! We definitely had left overs. Others at the table tried the cocktails-- no one had any complaints and said all drinks were delicious! I had the crush mocktail and it was delightful. Overall our waitress was great in describing the menu items and making sure to check on us at the right times. It is very cozy in the restaurant, so make sure you make reservations far in advance! I'm going to Connecticut with some friends for the 4th, and we decided to have a Mystic Pizza Night in preparation of the trip. I really wanted a clam pie for our Mystic Pizza Night, since clam pizza is a New Haven/Connecticut specialty. I had heard that Little Donna's makes a clam pie on Wednesdays (it might be the only place in the city that does?), so I decided it was finally time to try some of Little Donna's pizzas! I called around 5:30 on Wednesday and ordered three pies: their Wednesday clam pie special, their Cheese pie (crushed tomato sauce and cheese), and their Figs and Smoked Gouda (cheese, spicy apple jam, red onion, and rosemary), which I added Prosciutto to. The pizzas were ready about 30 minutes later, and they smelled so good in the car as I drove to my friends' house that I wanted to pull over and try a slice on the way. I was an adult and waited, but we opened those boxes ASAP when I got to their house. We loved all three. The classic cheese was very good - the right amount of cheese (not too much) and a great sauce. The Figs and Smoked Gouda pie was really great, too, and I think adding prosciutto or another protein is the right call, but it's a bit sweet and a salty protein only made it better. The clam pie? Exactly what I wanted! Lots of garlic, lemon, parsley, and clams. I'd be happy to eat it every Wednesday. Since I had a chance to go in to pick up the pizzas, I noticed that inside is small but very charming. I'd happily eat inside. The service was great (when I called and when I arrived to pick up the pizzas). I love their menu, and I'd love to go back for some of their non-pizza items (pierogi, trout dip, crab salad, pickle plate, schnitzel, etc.)! If I have a complaint, it's this (and it's really more of a warning): parking availability is horrible. To pick up our pizzas, I parked quite illegally (I knew I'd only be inside for a few minutes), because I didn't fancy having to walk blocks carrying three pizzas. Overall, a great new (but not really so new anymore) restaurant in Baltimore: interesting, inventive menu; great pizzas; great service in a comfortable, casual spot.
