This was a nice and clean honey baked ham store. Unfortunately I did not know to go online and place an orde first, then go up there. They had one tiny line for people that did not pay ahead online. It was hardly a helpful or friendly approach. It was a nice location however and I was so happy to have them nearby. Working with the public is really difficult, and the store itself was clean. Why 3 stars? Because the food is delicious but getting it was an all-time debacle. --- --- --- This review is the tale of two experiences. I'll start with the good. Eating the ham and turkey: 5-stars. The honey glaze is just amazing and, to be honest, it kind of ruins all other ham and turkey. I am not a fan of traditional Thanksgiving turkey. It's pretty dry and I usually just grab a minimal amount so that I can fill the rest of my plate with delicious sides. But this turkey was awesome. I'd happily get this everything Thanksgiving moving forward, except... Picking up the ham and turkey: 1-star. I ordered a few days in advance to pick up my ham and turkey, 2 days before Thanksgiving. You were given a 30 minute window to pick it up, and it all seemed really simple. I ran an errand on my way down to pick it up and expected that I would walk in and there'd be 1-2 other customers in the store either doing the same or ordering lunch. When I arrived, I saw a giant line of humanity. I wondered what all of them were doing and what business they could possibly be there for. I quickly learned that they were all there for the same reason I was: to pick up Honey Baked Ham. I'm not going to justice explaining how long this line was. Think: you're heading down to Minute Maid Park before a playoff game and the gates are about to open. It was jaw-droppingly ridiculous. I stepped into this line at 12:34pm and was walking out the door with food in hand at 2:03pm. Yes, an EIGHTY-NINE minute wait to pick up food that was pre-ordered. For all of us in the pre-order line, we were extra annoyed that the non pre-order line moved significantly faster than ours. So not only was pre-ordering pointless, it ended up being a negative. My question is: with hundreds of people pre-ordering, how could Honey Baked Ham have been so surprised with the volume of customers that showed up? Wouldn't they be ultra prepared for this, considering they knew exactly what to expect? It's a shame because, again, the food was great. But I will absolutely never do this again. read more

Ordered a 5lb ham for Christmas. Was give one less than 4lbs. The associate was nice and tried to help. The little female Hispanic "manager" could not have cared less. Her focus was on connecting the iPad chargers. The lady next to me was having the same experience. I decided to try this place one day for lunch randomly, and it was a bad choice. I went around 11:30am lunch time. I was greeted by an older lady who was doing some prepping. She was not very nice and came off a bit annoyed when interrupting her prep (no one else was available to take the order) . Then after making my choice, I was told she had no soups ready. Ok... so I chose potato salad and gave me a bit of snappy response that the potato salad wasn't available either. We have been huge fans of HoneyBaked Hams for over 30 years. Before there was a store in our hometown, we drove 20+ miles to buy their hams. I was so excited when a store opened up nearby. Now I have had 2 bad hams from this company. This years ham looks like it came from a different company. I no longer trust Honey Bake Ham company. The golden honey glaze is black on our ham. I would have known that if they actually allow customers to see the ham before paying for it. Now, customers are forced to buy their hams, sight unseen. Our ham is dried out, and does not have the flavor of the normal ham. After looking at other reviews this year, I realize I am not alone HBH apparently no longer cares about customer service since they use the pandemic as an excuse to no longer show off their beautiful hams to buyers. read more

Nothing wrong with getting a Classic Ham Sandwich at A place famous for ham. It and hearty tortilla soup were ok. In fact the marble rye was excellent. Service was efficient if not overly friendly until I bought more than lunch. I also got a ham (Any ham for $39.99 Special), the horseradish sauce (divine!), which I also had on my sandwich, and 2 X 1lb ham salad..$10.00 Special (OMG delicious). We had very friendly banter, both gettin' REAL with the prices and quality. Amazing! First time ordering a ham from here for thanksgiving and I was scheduled to pick up my order on that Monday before thanksgiving and I'm glad I did because the line was out the door ! A lot of my friends and coworkers bragged about how great this ham tasted so I ordered a 4-6 lb one and it was around $56 (kinda expensive) in my opinion but it was worth it I love the glaze on the ham and how it's cooked. Delicious! I had lots of guests coming over so I called and ordered a ham for same day pick up. I found a coupon online for an additional discount. Service was friendly. It does get busy and there was a short line. They also offer frozen side dishes, biscuits and dessert if you're too busy to cook. The ham was pre-cooked all I had to do was pop it in the oven to warm it up. You'll have lots of leftovers to make breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Second Honeybaked Spiral Ham in 2 months. This one I actually informed clerk the one at Christmas was bone dry and I followed directions. I also said the slices were too thick. Well, I learned the ham should be served room temperature and those thick slices are easily separated to become to thin slices...now, I am an older woman and know where each slice of ham is on all the spiral hams I have cooked before. This particular brand nobody could tell at Christmas, including me. On the ham we took to the home of family in mourning, I actually separated the ham from the thicker slices before serving it. It surely tasted a whole heck of a lot better at room temperature and separated into those thinner slices. Was it better than other hams I have had? No. The best we have tasted over high dollar spirals came from a German grocery store and was a whole lot less costly. read more

My favorite ham... I-usually will order one for Christmas or Easter and have never been disappointed... It is so good. I love that crunchy Layer of glaze on top and sweetness of that meat........ oh my goodness my mouth is watering right now as I write this review! Honeybaked Ham: *Hold* the reservation! Called Friday to reserve a 4 pound spiral cut ham for pickup on Sunday (today). She said "That's order code number one". I asked "Don't you need my name?" She said "No, just tell them 'order code number one' and they'll know what to do. She said my order would be ready Sunday but didn't tell me when so I went there at 3pm. Multiple people in line in front of me ordered small hams and they said they were out (good thing I reserved mine!). Told the teenager at the counter, "order code number one" and she said we sold that, but she could get me a 6 pound bone-in ham. I asked "so what's the point of the reservation when you won't keep the reservation?" "Well, it was busy and kind of late in the day, so we sold it". So I now have a $50 6+ pound ham due to Honeybaked not keeping their word. Oh and she didn't discount it or anything - thanks, HBH! Exactly like the Seinfeld episode... Rental Car Agent: I think I know why we have reservations. Jerry: I don't think you do. You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. Bought a replacement button at Joann Fabrics and noticed this shop close by. It was lunchtime. I was hungry. And I hadn't had spiral sliced ham in forever. Well, the woman helping me was lovely and my classic ham sandwich on a croissant was really good. The ham itself was not salty and not too sweet! All the ingredients were cold, fresh and the sandwich was well made. They do have samples of some of their other products which I did try! I was able to use an in-store coupon as well! Customer service is everything when it comes to an establishment. Customer service should be given to all customers no matter what race they are. My husband and I which is African American chose to visit this honeybake ham in Spring for the first time for lunch and an African American employee was helping us she was not friendly and border line rude. I was at this location on location on 11/14/2018 trying to purchase a ham. The clerk in duty was new tried to charge me $29,000 for a $45 ham. He realized the mistake. However, the store went on to charge my card on 11/19/2918 $12,572 for a ham I never purchased. I am trying work with my CC issuer to get it resolved but the company is uncooperative. Big Bummer! I want so badly to like this place. If I were only evaluating the turkey sandwich, which I have on a croissant, they would get a 4.5, but I always get such an unhappy vibe, I am giving them 2 stars. They are so disinterested in helping me. Today there were 3 people working when I walked in, as the only customer 1 hour before closing, and not one person welcomed me or smiled. The blond who helped me looked miserable. There was no attempt at small talk by anyone. The people seem lifeless and dull. Every time I have visited, I have had a similar experience.
