When it comes to unique tasting menus that showcase what LI has to offer, PAWPAW is honestly at the very top of my list. And for $60 a person you really can't beat it. I recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or splurge on a night out. Plus now they do reservations with Tock so you can pay ahead of time. And BYOB! Recently I had the pleasure of dining with PAWPAW for a second time to celebrate mine and my boyfriends anniversary. We had high expectations from our first experience and this time certainly didn't fall short! My favorite bites were the eel hush puppies, pork tenderloin, and sweet potato doughnut.

Simply amazing. The ever-changing and evolving tasting menu at PawPaw is out of this world. The flavor combinations reflect the seasons and the North Fork, and the food is fished, farmer and foraged locally. I traveled over an hour to check them out, and it was worth every second. Highly recommended. Must be open to trying whatever they give you in order to fully appreciate the experience. And it IS an experience like no other.

PAW PAW POP UP Greenport : Bruce & Son Another wild ride over at Paw Paw @pawpawpopup in the books, featuring their newly famed @peconic_escargot recently covered on CBS Sunday Morning back in October of this year. Peconic Escargot, the brainchild of Paw Paw Chef Taylor Knapp, is the only source of fresh escargot in the US. Previously, all escargot, even at the top restaurants in the country, were sourced from overseas... and thus, from a can (shriek!) The snails at PE are fed locally foraged herbs and plant matter to infuse a bright, clean flavor that carries subtleties unique to Long Island's humus. Every meal here is one to write home about, and we've already written a novel about this absolutely singular experience in a previous post that you should definitely indulge for more detail. Many of the star elements of Paw Paw have remained; house-made teas crafted with lemongrass and apple skin, as well as thick, fluffy local sauerkraut rye bread that are signature to the Paw Paw wheelhouse. Also familiar, is the stylistic use of malted products, sour garnish such as pickled onion and dried rose, and herb infused oils: previously pine, this time dill. There is no corner of perceivable flavor left unexplored on this menu. Each note of taste (sweet, salty, sour, bitter and umami is played several times throughout the meal. While the menu items have changed, the consistency of Taylor Knapp's signature style remains: innovative, punchy, creative, and locally inspired. - @twinforkfoodies

Dined at the Pawpaw pop up at the Lin beach house. The atmosphere and service was excellent! The meal was creative and lasted about ~3 hours, most of the dishes were spot on and super enjoyable

I had the pleasure of dining at Noah's on Sunday evening with two of my college girlfriends, and…read morewhat a wonderful experience it was! We ordered several dishes to share so we could sample as much of the menu as possible. We started with a half dozen oysters featuring three different varieties. They were incredibly fresh, and we loved every one of them. The accompanying sauces were the perfect complement. From the Small Plates menu, we ordered the watermelon salad. It was a generous portion and absolutely delicious. Perfect for a warm summer evening. I especially loved the combination of arugula, fresh mint, and both yellow and red watermelon. The cocoa nibs were an unexpected touch that added wonderful texture and flavor. It's not something I ever would have thought to add to a watermelon salad, but it worked beautifully. I can't wait to order it again. Next came the Long Island calamari frito misto with rock shrimp. The lightly battered calamari and shrimp were perfectly crisp, and the addition of fennel added a unique flavor that elevated the entire dish. It was simply superb. We also shared the red crab tacos. There are three tacos per order, which worked out perfectly since each of us could enjoy one. This was another standout. I love crab but usually shy away from mayonnaise-based salads. Whatever they did with this crab salad completely won me over. It was light, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Long Island Duck BBQ, served with pulled duck, cheddar grits, and scallions, was another pleasant surprise. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was outstanding. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the creamy cheddar grits paired perfectly with the tender duck. It was another creative dish that showcased the kitchen's talent. We also ordered a side of baby spinach so we'd have a vegetable to round out the meal, and even that was perfectly prepared and very flavorful. When I say everything was exceptional, I truly mean it. Every dish arrived beautifully presented, at the perfect temperature, expertly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Our server, Jennifer Farino, kept everything running seamlessly despite all of our shared plates and courses. She was attentive, friendly, and made the entire evening even more enjoyable. My friends ordered Hugo Spritzes while I enjoyed a raspberry Stoli Cosmopolitan. The cocktails were outstanding as well. Kudos to the bartender! When it came time for dessert, we asked Jennifer to surprise us with her selections. While every dessert was delicious, my absolute favorite was the cinnamon sugar beignets with bourbon caramel dipping sauce. They were warm, light, and completely irresistible. I could eat them every day! In fact, I'd happily return just for those beignets. We originally had an indoor reservation, but when we arrived we were fortunate enough to be seated outside, where seating is first-come, first-served. It couldn't have worked out better. The weather was beautiful, making for a perfect summer evening. Even the background music was thoughtfully chosen and played at just the right volume, creating a wonderful atmosphere. From the food and drinks to the service and ambiance, everything about our evening at Noah's was exceptional. We all left saying the same thing: this was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Noah's has truly set the bar high, and we can't wait to return.

The staff were great and the inside of the restaurant was big inside and we were able to hear the game with no issues. I ordered a beer, the brisket, Mac n cheese, and the tallow fries. All of the food was awesome! The Mac n cheese was some of the best I have had out at a restaurant. The brisket was juicy and the bbq sauce was tasty! The fries were good as well and dipping them in the cheese sauce was wonderful! Overall great meal and awesome place to watch the game!

My turkey was cold and the coleslaw had no seasoning, just a lot of mayo. The bbq sauce had a weird, unpleasant taste. My kids chicken and fingers and French fries were fine. The kicker was that their 2 bathrooms were out of order. I wasn't aware of this until my 4 year old needed to go. After seeing the signs on the doors, I went up to the counter to ask if there was a working bathroom. He said "No. You can go across the street." What? There's a bar and a restaurant across the street. The restaurant was closed. The bar may have been open. In any event, Green Hill should have told us they didn't have a working bathroom and should probably have been closed until they were fixed. I believe that's a health code violation.

After having visited and thoroughly enjoyed the Stony Brook location multiple times, this was a…read morehighly disappointing experience. Popped in for a quick weekend lunch since they had visibly open tables and we were seated right away. The person who showed us to our table led the way, and then dropped menus and utensils in a booth and kept walking. As soon as we made our way through the small restaurant, the absolute filth of the place was the only thing I could focus on. There were food scraps and garbage littering almost every surface of the floor. Our own table had dirty napkins, crumbs and half spilled sugar packets underneath, and the bench needed a wipe down before I could sit. Condiments on the table were dirty and if you moved them, the table was covered with crumbs underneath so no one is moving the condiments to clean. The bathroom was equally disgusting and unkempt. Despite all signs pointing to that we should've left immediately, we were hungry and had been driving for awhile. The food/drink was nothing like the other locations we've visited. In my 20 years of ordering Mimosas, I have never before been asked if I wanted a single or a double. It's prosecco, not shots. I went for the single because my expectations were low, and was presented with a weird little lowball glass of pineapple juice and a jigger of prosecco. That is completely ridiculous to cut a serving in half and call it a "single". For $12 you can buy an entire decent bottle of prosecco, and probably at least three bottles of whatever cheap they're serving. It feels like a cheat not to get a full serving. I ordered the Bootlegger for my meal which is fried chicken, melted cheese, bacon and Russian dressing on a roll. It arrived on a tiny hamburger bun with no dressing. Our server came once to ask how everything was the moment the plates were set down, and left when I told her I hadn't tried it yet. It then took about 10 minutes to obtain a side of dressing once I noticed my sandwich was dry. It was edible, but definitely not worth ever having again. My husband ordered corned beef hash and eggs, which was a plate filled with boxed potato sprinkled with pieces of corned beef. Eggs were fine. We did not use any of the condiments since it was clear they hadn't been swapped out or cleaned, and really tried to get out of this dirty environment as fast as possible. Servers were all concentrated in the bar area, some on phones clearly not busy...so it makes one wonder why no one thought to sweep the floor or wipe down a table. The state of the dining room was truly disgusting and honestly surprising. Our server barely attended to us so we opted not to bring this complaint to her directly and judging by the demeanor of the other staff, there wasn't a manger on duty. The bigger problem here is that if the public-facing front of house can look that way, I can only imagine how the kitchen is kept. We will never return to this location and sincerely hope it can be brought up to the same standards as the others.
