It's so wonderful that they were able to put a Little Free Library right in front of a bookstore. Sharing the love of books with all. I love the whole concept of Little Free Library. Take a book. Give a book. We have so many books in our house between the kids and myself that I literally drive around with books in my car just in case I find a Little Free Library. I feel bad when I find a book but don't have anything to give back in return. Anyone else see a LFL and when the books are all over the place, you MUST reorganize? That's ME!!! Lol. I just have to. It hurts my eyes and I'm making it easier for others to find the books amongst the chaos. Haha. If you do that, you're my kind of peeps! Will share my before and after photos when I upload photos.

This one is right outside the office of the park, in the form of a repurposed newspaper stand colorfully painted (by students, I believe). Honestly, who visits the office when they go to the park, except maybe to reserve a pavilion or something? Nonetheless, it has a nice view, overlooking the playground and the pond. So if you ever come to this park, stop by to drop off or pick up a book or two.

Or better yet, if you would rather not return your books or forget to and get fined for it, a little free library is perfect for you!! Little free libraries are small boxes of books set up in communities to promote reading and sharing. It's based on the take a book leave a book concept, but nobody is keeping tab, so feel free to clear out your bookshelves at home, or take a few books without leaving any (though I won't recommend clearing a LFL out...) This LFL is located in front of the big library. It's well maintained, and tend to have more children books than others. Lake Worth has plenty of LFL in the city and it's fun discovering them as I explore the city.

Unbelievable..... ! You rock young lady and she is well deserving of some help, at least at the cash register. The employees are helpful and will recommend and find books that you may be interested in. If they don't have it, they can often order it and have it shipped to your house for free. This store is very organized and has a nice children's section in the back. Barnes and Noble often has sales such as buy one, get 50% off, and discounts on most hardback new releases. As an added extra, they have a premium membership which gives an extra % off and a free tote bag. Moreover, this location has a Starbucks and an area to read and enjoy your beverage and/ or snack. With the premium membership, you are also entitled to discounts on your snacks. This bookstore has a DVD and movie area as well. If you're interested in a book, or a place to study and relax, I highly recommend this Barnes and Noble.

I was surprised at Rebecca's attitude. They made exceptions for some teenagers getting cards beside us without their parents. She wouldn't make exceptions but made exceptions for them .....

In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. The movement started in Wisconsin in 2009. By installing little bookshelves in communities, the "librarians" hope to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide. The idea really caught on and today there's an estimated 25,000 LFLs in all 50 states and over 70 countries. Maybe you'll wonder, but I haven't seen any in Miami? I was wondering the same thing too for the longest time. There are several LFLs in Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, even one in Key West. But I haven't found one in Miami. Whenever I mentioned LFL to my friends, they would say, oh, someone will come and steal the books - no, they'll steal the library - in a few days. Surely Miami is better than that. And proof is here, in this Little Free Library in the tiny village of El Portal, where the beautiful little wooden box has been installed since February 2015. And still surviving, offering reading enjoyment to adults and kids alike. Take a book or two with you, and if you find a title you like, bring it home. A library without late fee.

Flamingo Gardens is one of our favorite places in South Florida. Honestly, I'd even call it a…read morepeacock garden because there are so many of them wandering freely throughout the property. I especially love visiting during the winter months when the weather is cooler. It's the perfect time to slow down, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and have a little picnic with the kids. There are plenty of peaceful spots to sit, relax, and watch the peacocks walking around. The grounds are always clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. When you buy your tickets, you can also purchase bird food. We fed both the flamingos and the peacocks, and while it was a fun experience, here's my little tip--don't feed the peacocks from your hand unless you're ready for a pretty strong peck! I learned that one the hard way. There is also a small café, guided tram tours, and on weekends they often have live music, especially in the evenings or during holiday events. Around Christmas, the gardens are beautifully decorated with lights, making the whole place feel even more magical. If you're looking for a relaxing day surrounded by nature, Flamingo Gardens is definitely worth a visit.

Crossing fingers…read more Flamingo Gardens is such a beautiful hidden gem The gardens are gorgeous, the animals are amazing, and there's so much to see beyond just the flamingos. I especially loved seeing the peacocks roaming around, the wildlife, and taking the tram through the gardens. It's a peaceful, family-friendly experience and also a great place to visit if you just want to spend a few hours surrounded by nature. I really appreciated the educational aspect and learning more about the animals and the sanctuary.

Walking inside feels like discovering a hidden little world of books. I will say, I expected it to be much bigger based on photos I had seen. There's definitely more to see upwards than around, with books stacked and shelved high throughout the space. It's pretty tight inside, so I can imagine it getting a little crowded when there are a lot of people. And then there's the big fluffy resident cat, who pretty much seems to own the place and just adds another layer of charm to the whole experience. Honestly, what more could you want from a whimsical little bookshop? Definitely worth making a little trip to check out. It's quirky, charming, unexpected, and feels like a little hidden treasure.
