I rarely write negative reviews, but after two instances of poor product quality and even worse customer service, I feel obligated to share my experience. Back in November, I ordered a custom strawberry cheesecake for my wife's birthday -- $75. What arrived was a disappointment: the filling was curdled in places and liquidy in others, many of the strawberries were clearly unripe and covered up with a lot of glaze, and the crust varied so dramatically in thickness it looked unfinished. Not what you'd expect for a specialty order at that price. Getting resolution was its own ordeal. The contact email on their website bounced. I called and left a voicemail. Eventually they responded, gave me a different email, and I submitted photo documentation of the issues. To their credit, they acknowledged the problem -- but refused a refund, offering only store credit. I accepted and moved on. Fast forward to February: I tried to use that store credit for my son's birthday cake. I submitted their online order form, referenced the store credit, and waited. Nothing. No reply, no confirmation. I called the bakery a few days later and was sent to voicemail. Left a message explaining the situation. Never heard back. My son's birthday came and went. We had to find a last-minute solution elsewhere. I gave this bakery two chances. The first produced a defective product. The second didn't even produce a response. If you're ordering a custom cake for an important occasion, I'd think carefully before trusting them with it. read more

Pleasant cafe in Fairbanks Village Plaza with a small but sufficient menu. The airy space feels welcoming and encourages lingering either inside or out, and while the staff may not be particularly proactive, they're at minimum responsive if you need something beyond the water and cups available at the self-serve station. My girlfriend and I both ordered the Breakfast Burrito (EGG, CHEDDAR CHEESE, ROASTED POTATO, BACON), which was well-executed in its simplicity and piping hot. Met someone here for "coffee." We each had a coffee and she had a muffin, which looked good enough. The coffee was average and served in little teacups, $4 per. I asked if they offer refills, expecting they might limit it to one. She asked if I was drinking drip coffee, and I said I was. No, she said, we don't offer refills. $8 for perhaps 12-14 ounces of middling drip coffee doesn't inspire me to try the food, or to return. Too many other good places nearby. read more

Super cute lil spot in Rancho Santa Fe - directly across from the Solana Santa Fe elementary school and next to Helen Woodward. Pretty much everything is homemade - pastries and breads - with an always changing selection (which to me is fun to be surprised by whatever is there that day). Their coffee was good too and I liked that they had vanilla/caramel and also had nice mugs to serve for here drinks in. Adorable and comfy inside seating. Stocked fridge with snacks/treats/drinks/juices. Various delicious looking goodies being sold on their pantry wall. Dog friendly (they welcomed my lil goldendoodle very nicely) and had a little patio with seating! Good amount of parking nearby in lot shared with other businesses. (Random note- Unsure of bathroom if there is one or the location but I did not ask either haha). If I'm in the area I will for sure enjoy coming back! read more

The latte was really sweet, I could only drink half of it. The staff was super kind and the owner I believe was who I spoke to. It's 2025 and so unfortunate when a place doesn't have cross contamination guidelines. I had saw they had peanut butter cookies. Literally the only thing at the place that had peanuts was a cookie and we couldn't get any food because they have no cross contamination standards. In an age where so many people have allergies, you would think new places would hop on board. I don't think places should cater to every single allergy. That's not what I'm saying. However, as an advocate for allergies and having visited many restaurants to train them on cross contamination, it's not hard and it doesn't take a lot of time out of your day. The cookie had good peanut butter taste with little bits of fresh tasting peanuts. The chocolate center was delicious... almost tasted like a Hershey Kiss. I dropped into this bakery for a coffee just driving by, it is definitely a hidden gem!!! I had an açaí bowl with fresh homemade granola which was perfect and the best vanilla latte i have had in years. I took a fresh chocolate croissant to my son which just was melt in your mouth fresh.
