Prime Skirt Steak with Fries and Beans & Rice

The food here was delicious! I stopped by with my brother and we shared the Bang Bang Shrimp (which I highly recommend), the Steak, and the Baby Back Ribs. The staff was super nice and attentive. We're definitely going to make our way back up here to try other things on the menu.

My friend and I were in the area and noticed the outdoor ding so we stopped. Service was good with a good menu. The veggie sides tasted freezer burned. Chicken entrees and other entrees tasted great.

We walked up with no rezzie- and they were super accommodating to us. It was a nice relaxed Sunday afternoon meal. Waitstaff was friendly, kind and attentive. Food was fresh, served warm and we all enjoyed onion rings and Brussel sprouts as appetizers. The sliders were a hit, as were the salads. A nice gem we happened upon. We'll be back!

This restaurant just opened up so I'm sure they are working out all the kinks. It did take a long time for us to get our bill even though our table was cleared. I had to ask another waiter to try to find mine. The location is where Little Ricky's used to be (on the corner of Lincoln and Elm street). Overall, it's better than Little Ricky's! There's a lot of great outdoor seating. For the food: Guacamole & chips - great size. Decent. Nachos with ground beef - Decent. I loved how to put everything on the side so my kids could eat it too. Only weird thing is that I saw something pink in the food and not sure what it was. Kids chicken strips & fries - chicken strips were good (4/5) and the fries were just ok (3/5) per my child Kids cheese pizza & broccoli - small serving and just ok but I'm glad they offer fruit and veggies as a side. Price is decent for kid's meal. Chicken Cobb salad - Not bad. I really liked the ranch dressing and the bacon was crispy. Steak fajitas - Good They have a wide range of food options - fajitas to pastas to ribs to burgers and salads. I wouldn't mind trying other items from here. I wanted to try the baked potato bc I love anything that's made of potatoes! I'm happy to see another restaurant open up in Winnetka.

We're in town during Thanksgiving for the first time in a decade. I ordered all the sides from…read moretowne and oak (delish), the pies from three tarts (perfection) and then I need a turkey. I checked Yelp and ordered from Hofherr Meat based on the stellar reviews. I often peek into Hofherr Meat when walking into Shred415 so was excited to finally try it! About 2 days before I was telling a friend where i got my turkey and she asked me how i plan to cook it. Cook it?? It literally had not occurred to me that my turkey would be raw. If it's not obvious from this review and ALL my restaurant reviews the kitchen is not where I shine. I called Hofherr to ask if they could cook my turkey and while apparently they do that it was too late to put in the request. Good to know for next time. Wednesday morning I joined the rest of the North Shore to pick up my raw turkey. I ran into a friend while waiting for it who is more of an expert when it comes to making turkeys and she asked them to give me gravy, a turkey bag (apparently easier and lessy messy to cook in a bag) and some directions. The next day I followed their directions along with some help from my bestie chatgpt. I stuck it in the oven and crossed my fingers we wouldn't be going without a turkey this thanksgsiving. We had a little mishap when the thermometer melted into the turkey (oops), but besides that it really wasn't too difficult of a process. And while I had trouble eating a turkey after seeing it raw my family was thrilled that it was perfectly moist and praised my turkey making skills. I did have a few bites and did think it was pretty good- and i dont even like turkey. I would definitely get my turkey from here again, although next time i'll be ordering a cooked turkey out of convenience. But for those of you who like to cook a turkey I recommend them!

The "bowls" come in the same cups as a smoothie would come in, but a smoothie only comes in 20oz. I actually appreciate all the different bowl sizes as I only wanted something lighter and I got a small 8oz bowl for one of my kids. My husband and my other kid each ordered a smoothie. You can have unlimited toppings! And there's so many tasty options such as kiwi, spirulina chia pudding, coconut, granola, etc. You could also pay a little more for a fancy topping such as yellow dragonfuit, which is what I got on mine. Sadly the oven wasn't working so no empanada this time.

In spite of me having every intention on visiting Stacked & Folded, it became my choice for eats after I saw the Fons - Plant Based Empanadas sign. It is currently located at Winnetka Walk inside of the space formerly held by an ice cream shop known as Adelheidi's Organics. There are plenty of parking spots available along Lincoln Ave in spite of the space being shared with other restaurants and businesses. Believe it or not, there is always someone leaving this area if you cannot find parking upon arriving in downtown Winnetka. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and up to the counter to see what is offered on their display menu. And I must say that I felt very welcome prior to ordering. I ended up ordering three empanadas after the employee recommended it because of the buy three get one free advertisement. Out of empanada choices like Tinga, Sweet Potato Chilli, Chorizo Cheese & Potato, Smoky Mushrooms, Andean, Margherita, Rope Vieja, Pulled BBQ, Corn, and Lumpia; my four empanadas chosen were a Margherita, Corn, and two Pulled BBQ. I took my time choosing my drink because there were lemonade flavors that I absolutely adored like Mango & Strawberry, Dragonfruit & Pomegranate, Passion Fruit & Hibiscus, Turmeric Pineapple, Watermelon & Kiwi, and Blueberry & Lavender. I ended up ordering the Mango Strawberry because it consisted of two flavors I craved at the time. As my order was being made, the employee and I ended up conversing about running which I am very passionate about. I love that no matter how short the shorts I am wearing are or how sweaty I am, a conversation about running is always struck up whenever I visit businesses or restaurants wearing running clothes. Service: 5 (Great) If you wish to dine-in, there are an acceptable amount of tables and seats in the dining area, including stool seats along the window. During the time of my visit there were not any customers at Fons - Plant Based Empanadas. I imagine that because it is new to the area was the reason for it not having much business compared to others in the area. I told the employee that Fons will do good because of how many individuals are within downtown Winnetka on a regular basis. Atmosphere: 4 (Good) As for my food, I must say that I enjoyed the empanadas. Mmm, I nearly ate all four empanadas before even driving my vehicle out of the area, hehe. Oh, yes honey they were delicious! Out of all flavors, the Margherita, Corn, and the Pulled BBQ, I have to say I enjoyed the Pulled BBQ the most. While eating that particular empanada I had the biggest smirk on my face. Food: 5 (Great) Being that I had a great experience, I would gladly order from Fons - Plant Based Empanadas again when visiting downtown Winnetka, likely after running the Green Bay Trail. Service: 5 | Atmosphere: 4 | Food: 5 ~ Peace. Love. Happiness. ~ Thomas G

We ended getting two hamburger specials that came with fries and a drink. The price is pretty average considering the area that we are in. Other than that, the decor of the place is your typical burger joint; wide, bright and you can smell the cooking goodness nearby. Also, the customer service was pleasant. Always served with a smile and willing to help. Anywho--back to the food. We received our order in no time and decided to dine in. You get your own fountain drink and our hamburgers were filled with the works as requested; ketchup, mustard, pickles, grille onions, lettuce and tomatoes. The burger itself was really good. The meat that is utilized for the burger comes from the butcher shop next door which is Hofherr Meat Co. and they are DELCIOUS in their own right. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy, the condiments were good and the grilled onions were so yummy and succulent, really adding a nice flavor to the burger. Overall, I really enjoyed being here and eating the food. I definitely want to come back but maybe next time, I will try eating the hot dogs instead of the burgers. If you are in the area, definitely give this place a try but it's not something that I would really go out of my way for. Still delicious though and definitely hits those hot dog and burger hankerings if you have 'em. Yum, yum for sure!

I ordered and paid for two small pizzas at the counter, and learned I had to go to bar for drinks. The same cashier came over to take my drink order, where I paid separately. In about 15 minutes, our pizzas were ready at the counter: One with only cheese, and the other with sausage. We immediately noticed the ruffled-edge crust, which looked more like a pie for dessert. We both took a bite of each pizza, and immediately disliked the cornmeal crust. It tasted to me like it was made from Jiffy corn muffin mix, with a cardboard-like hardness. My wife disliked it so much she barely ate one small piece of pizza. I liked their cheese and sauce, and especially liked the sausage. I managed to eat two pieces thinking I'll give it a chance, but hated that crust so much I couldn't eat a third piece. There are plenty of other items on their menu other than pizza, which are the only things we will consider for any future visit. The dining room is large with a dark, traditional wood decor. Parking is free in their own lot. Having no table service, other than cleaning tables, logically results in a tip and cost savings. Now that I know this is how Barnaby's operates, I am not down-voting them based on service.
