We decided to take a Grab. MISTAKE!!! What the app estimated at a 15 minute ride turned out to be a slow 45 minutes ride. Was it worth it? Yup!!! There are five floors to the restaurant: Floors 1 & 2 are the dining area. Floor 3 is the sports bar with 2 pool tables. Floor 4 is the function room. Floor 5 is the "Jeepney Bar"; here they have belly-dancing & midget dancing - - we missed that, but there's next time. To boot, there is an elevator that takes up y to the top. We have never eaten Indian Food before, so we asked Jeffery to help out. After much debate, we decided on the following: Prawns Curry: prawns are good sized, not giant, & the curry is very tasty - - try it on top of some basmati rice. Mixed Vegetable Curry: it's not as saucy as the Curry Prawns. It's also very good. Prawn Biryani: rice, prawns, & spices served in a clay pot. Very good. Garlic Naan: simple spiced flat bread. Outstanding. Afghani Chicken: the best chicken I've eaten in the Philippine this trip!!! The best, no questions about it. Taste is great & the chicken is so moist. Wow!!! After the meal, Jeffery introduced us to the Chef & we let him know it was the best. Furthermore, we're on a low salt diet & nothing tasted salty at all. They do give you 3 dipping sauces: tamarind (great), mint (good), red hot sauce (it's hot!!!). Because this was our first time having Indian food, we were hesitant - - we worried for no good reason. If you've never had Indian food, like us, I can highly recommend it - - give it a chance. Enjoy.

The ambiance is friendly and probably looks romantic at night because of the lights. The food was delectable and the portions are shared by me and my husband. The service is nothing short of amazing. I'd say their chicken curry is good but what I cook is suited for my taste. Me and my colleagues have ordered the chicken biryani and naan (something like pita bread) chicken curry. The most notable thing is how spicy their yellow colored rice is (I believe it's called Biryani)! One colleague loved the Indian food and the other didn't like it. I was just okay with it but if it was in bigger serving, I wouldn't be able to stand the spiciness. They have tomatoes with coleslaw on the side to probably not be sick with it. Their chicken curry sauce compliments the rice and the naan. The place is a bit small but it's fine, Indian-themed, with red, white, and yellow colors. The service was bit slow, we had to tell the waitress in the cashier that we were gonna order already. But other than that, it was fine. The menu had some variety, I just think they can add more options in there. The price is just right for the serving size. I don't think they have other branches yet. It's a good idea they put up an Indian restaurant there cause it's very rare to find here. I will probably recommend this for Indian friends (if I'd have any) and probably those who want some new cuisine although I'm not a fan of Indian food. But this is honestly not gonna be on my worth going back lists.

Ganeza is a curry place that serves predominantly Indian food, although there are other types of curries like Japanese. We tried their naan, samosa, and vegetable rice since a lot were out of stock. Their naan is very good and made from good quality ingredients, very authentic too. It comes with a sauce and it is a meal in itself. The samosas are also tasty and has enough spice. The rice is spicy but good. We are happy with what we ordered. Service is fast and good. Can be a choice for future eats.

I have eaten at close to a 100 Indian restaurants and eaten Indian well over 1000 times. I am an American with a foreign stomach as my dad refers to me as. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the flavor of their butter chicken plus it had many pieces in the chicken that couldn't be chewed. I unfortunately must say this is the worst Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The good part is that it was cheap. If you love Indian this restaurant is not for you, sorry. They serve free water but it is only potable. Not filtered or anything like that so I bought their 40 peso water. Service and ambiance was good.

If I were a resident of Kapitolyo, I would be amused to be surrounded by plenty of cafes and restaurants having different themes and flavours. What turned out as a random Thursday dinner out of my comfort zone led me to Naan. I have yet to taste the best curry/roti of Manila and I have to say this establishment could use improvement. My folks and I enjoyed our vegetable samosa, but apart from that the rest were just disgruntling. I have always believed delicious and things of high quality don't always have to be expensive. Looking at the price points of their offering, food are fairly priced. Your P300 could go a long way, but the taste is not at all authentic. Butter chicken was served warm, while naan was burnt. I thought a good naan should be chewy, but what we got served was almost not edible. For the hour that we stayed there I could remember a few take out meals served and a table occupied by other customers so I guess it was a quiet Thursday night for them. Management may want to consider performing quality checks once in a while since this establishment has potential. Servers were hospitable and accommodating, however like I said, quality of food offerings could be improved.

(Don't get it confused with CASAA, the food house on the other end of the Academic Oval.) It might be a little hard to find because 1) the structure it's found in looks abandoned, and 2) their sign up front doesn't attract attention at all. (It just looks like your typical sari-sari store sign.) Once inside though, you'll see why it's just about the quietest place to enjoy a good meal in UP. Khas serves a mix of Mediterranean and Indian cuisine, and they are vegetarian-friendly! Yes! UP has vegetarian-friendly food! Most of their meals have a no-meat option, using vege meat instead. I love their Safari Doubledecker Meal! It's a rice bowl with cabbage, onions, egg, mild spices (if you wish), and your choice of toppings - chicken, beef, seafood, or vege meat. It's inexpensive, filling, and quite good with the vegetarian option! (Only P90) Since I frequent Khas at around lunchtime, I usually order their yogurt shake to go with the Doubledecker Meal. (P65) They have lots of other interesting items on their menu, including a shady item called "It's Not What You Think!" I've heard that the meal is cooked depending on the ingredients available, and that the staff can't reveal what they've put in it. I haven't tried it yet! But if you're curious, do visit this nice little hidey-hole in UP and give it a go! :)

Why is it good? First of all, it's owned and been operated now for over 25 years by an Indian national who has left this branch - apparently two others in Makati - in the hands of a very capable pinoy chef and his trusty long-term server crew. Second of all, it's truly good. Better than most such restos in Canada, it holds up wonderfully well. Third, I've tried other Indian restos in Makati, and, although at least one is okay, this is by far the best. Fourth, I've been to this Kashmir about a dozen times over the last 15 years, and every time I'm back in the sprawling mess of Manila, take time out to go there. Try their curries, 3-lentil dahl, chicken tikka, naan breads, etc. Although the portions tend to be small, really a delight in a country where few restos get it right. Be prepared to spend a little, but the flavours and textures are worth it. And, yes, it's great for a quiet romantic evening with a first date or your beloved spouse on a special occasion. This is fine dining ... enjoy the quality cloth napkins and tableclothes, fine utensils, and disregard what's outside the door. And if you like Dads - one is next door - the food here easily outdistances that famous buffet in every way. As well, near here is Solidaridad, the finest book store in the Phils owned by national writer Sionil Jose, that can be visited before your dinner.

Heartbroken and hungry, we kept walking around the area until suddenly, we find ourselves at Soler Street and this yellow sign was staring back at us: GREEN. PLANET. VEGETARIAN. Thank you, universe! I've tried a few vegetarian places in Binondo, but this relatively newish addition to Chinatown takes the whole cake! Taiwanese-owned Green Planet Vegetarian serves a variety of tasty vegetarian and vegan food at super 'sulit' prices. Much like a super clean, glorified 'turo-turo', you can get a rice meal with 3 viands for only Php 100, and with complimentary hot tea, too! Try their veggie sisig (creamy and dairy-free!) and their crowd-pleaser, fried miteng (gluten), which has a beautiful, chewy texture and savory flavor--amazing when dipped in vinegar. Another favorite of mine is their radish cake, a slice for only Php 15! Being sold here as well are vegetarian and vegan food items such as Magic Meat (dehydrated TVP made locally), canned barbecue sauce, and this Taiwanese granulated mushroom seasoning (reminiscent of the local Magic Sarap seasoning--look for the package with that very strange smiling mushroom). I've also heard from their staff that they're planning to open a Makati branch!
