Good friendly service, tasty food at a good price point. I'm a fan. On a recent visit, my friend had a meatball sandwich and I couldn't pass up the good deal and got a lasagna. Food aside, let's talk about their awesome fries. Crispy and crunchy on the outside while still perfectly tender on the inside. I am craving more now. Stumbled on this place while driving on nearby I-85. Wanted something other than fast food for dinner so I gave it shot. I ordered the Veal Parmesan, and thought it was good. Not the best I've had but it was good. The veal had a good flavor to it and the spaghetti complemented the Veal nicely although the pasta sauce was a little bland. The portions were good sized as well. The staff was friendly. Probably my only complaint was that they did not offer Chianti by the glass so I had to settle for a Merlot but the wine was ok for a house wine. read more

Stopped here for a break from fast food while traveling. Family of five. Cute little tiny spot. Served quickly and efficiently. Service was good. I guess things are a little different than what I'm used to back home. Clearly a family owned restaurant and the family was eating dinner next to us. In fact our server joined them and sat down to eat after serving us our entrees. It was a little weird asking her for anything because we felt like we were being rude by interrupting her dinner. I ordered a calzone that was hanging off of the plate so we needed an extra plate in order for me to cut it properly. It had WAY too much ricotta. However it was huge for the price. I ate about a fourth of it mostly because of taste. My son really liked it though. My husband had the chicken Marsala which was delicious and again huge portions. None of us were crazy about the marinara sauce, very sweet whether in the pizza, with spaghetti or a dipping sauce. The restrooms are one stall which I can always appreciate and decorated very nicely. Just so happens the trash can was overflowing. I didn't understand this because again, very tiny restaurant with a few tables and outside of the family eating there was only one other table being served. The kids of the family freely walked around which was totally fine until I saw one casually going in and out of the kitchen. $5.50 for 6 wings. The wings were decent but I did have to call back and ask for them to be fried a little longer because when you bit into it there was still that chewy fat. Holly was very nice about it and I brought them back so they could do so. After a little longer cook time they were much better. I wish she took something off or added something for my inconvenience is all. I ordered @1230 for lunch and didn't get out until 330 so I was very hungry and couldn't eat my food until I took it back to be cooked longer at 330. Once again, driving from ATL to RIC, I returned to Little Italy Saturday, November 18, 2017. It was a little after 8pm. I ordered the 12" Deluxe Pizza ($12.99)and Fried Mushrooms ($5.00). Once again, the fried mushrooms were done to perfection. I ate about half. On to the pizza. It was a very conventional pizza, by which I mean it was good, but nothing earth-shattering. I ate 2 slices, and requested a box to take the rest home. I also took home a slice of tiramisu ($4.99) and the remaining mushrooms. Back at home, I ate the tiramisu. Very good. The next day, I grazed on the pizza all day long, enjoying every slice. In the evening, some 24 hours after they were first fried, I nuked the mushrooms and found them still surprisingly good. I hope to return next month. One minor nag: The cheese shaker on the table was packed with Parmesan, to the extent that it wouldn't shake out. So I had to unscrew the cap, and then shake it onto the pizza, resulting in more Parmesan on my pizza than usual. But that's not such a bad thing, is it? read more

After a day of scuba diving at Lake Rawlings, we were in search of food. There's a Subway and Dunkin Donuts, and the Nottoway restaurant near the lake, but we wanted to try something different. We thought about the Nottoway restaurant but it was closed (we were told they close for the week in early July every year). The lady at the Nottoway Motel told us about Little Italy. This is a cute little place, but there's a considerable amount of rusty vents and what looks like black mold on the ceiling tiles. The tables were clean, and there really wasn't any off-putting odors, and because we were hungry we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Stromboli and a plain cheese pizza with added spinach. The Stromboli was ok, but I loved the pizza. The crust was one of the better ones I've had that didn't come out of a wood or coal fired oven. If you're in the area and diving at Lake Rawlings, I'd definitely recommend this place for good pizza. Just don't look up at the ceiling tiles. :) read more

When you arrive, this place doesn't look like it will be much. When you get inside, it's a totally different experience. Our waitress was super nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. We all got something different and every one of us was pleasantly surprised. From the pizza, subs and pasta- we all LOVED our good. We were on a trip from Williamsburg back to Charlotte and liked it so much that we'd stop there again on our way back up to the Mid Atlantic states. It was definitely worth the stop! read more

Sat down for an early dinner. When I went in it wasn't very crowded so the waitresses were very attentive to us. We ordered the baked spaghetti with a house salad and the cheese calzone filled with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, and sliced ham. The meals came out very quick and were very good for some quick Italian food right off the highway. The spaghetti was cooked properly and the meat sauce had good flavor. The calzone was baked all the way through, which is very hard to do in my opinion! It also tasted good, but I wish there was red sauce in the calzone. We went in and finished all within 35 minutes so we were able to get back on the road all for under $25. I would recommend to anyone looking to get something other than fast food on the highway but still looking to get back on the road. read more

Wonderful little restaurant off of 85, making this one of the better dinner stops I've done while on the road - and thinking I'd be stuck with Wendy's. We ordered baked spaghetti (which came with a free salad being a special) and ravioli. The salad was very fresh and tasty, with delicious blue cheese dressing. The spaghetti and ravioli were pretty good (large portions) and the free bread was hot out of the oven - all for a satisfying and affordable meal. If we are this way again, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Family Italian restaurants are hard to find where I live! read more

We are local and eat here often. We like this location better than Stony Creek so we drive 15 miles to it! The pizza is so good, particularly the crust. The cheesesteak is great as well. My brother and I stopped here on our way to myrtle beach. We arrived about 20 mins after it opened and we weren't even the first customers! So it's definitely popular! We both ordered subs with fries. The fries were delicious! Some of the best kind of fries, crispy and tasty. The subs were also very good, and quite traditional for an Italian spot! No complaints at all. The service was good and the atmosphere was good. I can imagine it can feel a little tight inside if it's busy, which it was already becoming by the time we left! Excellent! Driving north we needed lunch. My husband said pizza. So we stopped. This place makes the best pizza I've had in a long time. Atmosphere was nice. We stopped at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. We heard the owners speaking Italian and knew we should have an authentic meal. We ordered a small pizza to share. This is where the only negative happened. No pizza by the slice and my husbands halfway supposed to have green peppers and mushrooms. They brought out green peppers and onions. But they asked if we wanted them to take it back and make it right. My husband said it owls be fine, but they offered to bring out mushrooms to put on top. They brought out a plate of steaming mushrooms. The pizza was delicious. It had a crisp crust, a delicious tomato sauce, and was steaming hot. We are already planning when we can come back. I am truly baffled by the excellent reviews. We stopped here for lunch because of those reviews, and it turned out to be terrible. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs, and I had, at the suggestion of the waitress, a spinach calzone. The calzone was served on a plate that was entirely too small, making it difficult to eat. Luckily, the waitress hadn't removed my dirty salad plate, so I put half of it on that. The calzone looked normal, but it was perhaps 5% spinach and the rest a mass of gooey cheese. I like cheese quite a bit, but I had ordered a spinach calzone. Spinach in this dish was used as more of a garnish than as an essential ingredient. It was served with a plastic cup of a too-sweet tomato sauce that tasted like watered down ketchup. My husband's spaghetti and meatballs was slightly better, and as I found my meal unappetizing, we shared the spaghetti, but again, the sauce was sweet and bland and the meatballs were tough and gray. The bread they brought to the table was arguably the worst part. I believe they left the salt out of the dough, so it tasted like paste and had a sticky, not-quite-cooked texture. I will say that the waitress was very nice, so the service was not the issue. But if you want a satisfying and delicious meal, go anywhere but here. read more

What a Find!!! This quaint little restaurant right off of Interstate 85 in McKenny Va was a pleasant surprise! My wife and I checked Yelp for somewhere to have dinner, and were so glad we did. The baked spaghetti with a tossed salad was the special of the night and it was indeed special. A large portion, rich in flavor and covered in cheese. That was preceded by some amazing homemade bread. Out waitress Kristen was courteous, kind and very attentive to our needs. The prices were incredibly reasonable. Probably the worst Italian Food I have ever had, I don't know how you can screw up Chicken Marsala but they made that possible. The ingredients were obviously all the cheapest canned food and for 15$ it should have at least cake with one of there salads which I must say the lettuce was brown and everything was pickled. Brown lettuce causes gastric issues as any education cook/chef knows and is breeding grounds for bacteria. If your looking for a decent Italian meal this is not the place to go. Service was ok but I can tell that this place does not get much in customers and the staff save for one cook looked like they did not want to be there. The one Cook whom was wearing a very colorful hoodie whom did not prepare our was polite and honest and he may actually have a chance at saving the place if they gave him the chance. But I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more
