My husband ordered the cheesesteak sandwich, also from the lunch menu. His had one side and he chose the onion rings. Prices were very reasonable. The tables and the place overall were clean. We were staying at one of the hotels next door. After a long day, we were hungry when we walked in. The food did not disappoint. I have some sort of chicken sub (the big chicken?) and it was great. Simple but exceeded my expectations. I chose onion rings and again was not disappointed. My husband got chicken parm and it was a big portion and came with a gorgeous salad. Also, very good. What really blew us away was the staff. Top notch all around. We will make a point to stop at Little Italy next time we are in the area. read more

For travelers going north or south on 95 who are looking for a nice sit down restaurant, this is the perfect stop. There's nothing special about the exterior or interior aesthetically, but it's clean, fast and the food is quite delicious! You could also call ahead for pick up. All the staff was masked, there was no wait, and there was only one other table dining in so social distancing was easy to accommodate. This isn't a place to "bring your friends" or "celebrate your birthday," but it will satisfy your hunger more than any fast food or gas station while during a day of driving!! If you're driving south on i95 take exit 33 to find it. It's a little tricky, but Apple Maps can guide you. I am giving it four starts because of its prime location off i95, low prices, kind dated, and quality ingredients. My dad got the mini calzone, but won't be fooled by the name-- it was huge! I don't eat cheese (preference not allergy), which makes eating at Italian restaurants a challenge, but I had the Italian sun without cheese and was pleasantly pleased. The bread was the right balance of crisp and softness. They have a surprisingly large menu with several lunch specials (min-fri). GET THE FRENCH FRIES!!!!! If we're on the road during the day and need a lunch break, we'd stop here again! read more

Was driving up from Florida and stayed at the hotel next door. This area is full of NOTHING. But found this little gem and it satisfied my cravings. For some reason, it doesn't come up on the GPS or my map app. When you've been on the road for 8 hours, eating nothing but fast food, a real hot meal is a treat. Not knowing what's good or what's a miss, I stuck to chicken parm. Can't go wrong with chicken parm lol. Their alfredo sauces and clam sauces looked a little suspect... I wouldn't truly call this an Italian joint (I have grandmothers that are straight up from Naples) but for what it is, given this location, the locals and passerby's would have a satisfying visit. I was in desperate need of fresh salad in my system. Thank god, their Greek salad was nice, cold, and crisp. Loved that they added 4-5 pepperonchinis and heaping amount of feta cheese. Their vinaigrette was on point too. Their chicken parm was pretty good. Ton of mozzarella cheese, which is always good. I subbed out the spaghetti and asked for GLUTEN FREE penne and they complied with no hesitation! So awesome!! I've had worse chicken Parms in New Jersey so I can vouch for their flavor with this one. (Not sure about some other ones from the pictures though...) Only thing I was a little iffy about was the young boys in the back handling and cooking the food...They DID NOT WEAR MASKS OR GLOVES. Place seemed clean though, including their kitchen area. So don't say I didn't warn you. The girls in the front were super nice and professional. They kept their mask on. We've driven the NY to FL trip well over 100 times ... more and more, it means lousy takeout or predictable chains. This may not be 4 star in a gourmet city, but it sure rated five after a long tiring drive. Calamari was kind of tough, rings only... cue frozen. The Sambuca and Rustico pastas were distinctive and excellent. Shrimp in the Sambuca were perfectly cooked. Oh, enough for two nights later at home. The draft IPA rounded it out. You know what, for a little Italian joint in the middle of Virginia, this place isn't too shabby. I've had worse pizza in New Jersey. If you're looking for someplace to eat while traveling i95, this is the place. Stick to the basic menu items like pizzas though, I'm not sure I'd try the seafood here. This place needs a bath. Pizza is edible, but you might get a hair mixed in for free like we did. They are not very welcoming. The chicken cutlet sandwich is depressing. I really wanted this to be great... especially after such a long drive. I ordered the eggplant parm after reading about other reviews; not a good idea. It was overly fried and I ended up with the worst stomach ache. I mean, I could've sent it back instead of eating, but I fooled myself. Someone else at my table ordered it too and she was up almost all night in the bathroom and she had only taken a few bites. Everyone else's meal at my table was good and didn't have problems. Customer service is amazing, our waitress made sure we had everything we needed and refills. Clean atmosphere and bathrooms. I ordered the baked Manicotti, which was $12.95. After receiving our food, I noticed that it was a very small portion, only 2 shells that looked like it was filled with cheese and marinara poured on top. I personally would recommend making the portion bigger or make it a starter. I exchanged it out for the Grilled Chicken Panini which was actually pretty good. My husband got the fettuccine Alfredo and complained that it tasted pretty bland but it was a good portion. Overall experience was okay and would probably come back. read more

Wow, such a great little find and authentic Italian food . Our order was incredible and surprisingly fresh for a stop off the highway. The restaurant has moved further down the road but worth the drive. I had Jack's chicken and it was in a perfectly creamy bourbon sauce with mushrooms and red peppers delicious spaghetti, well balanced flavors. Kids pasta bolognese was great too, my husbands pizza was solid with a great crust but the cooked dishes are the way to go if you eat here. Also, don't forget their homemade rolls! I wasn't sure what to expect at a place called Little Italy off of the exit on 95 in central Virginia It wasn't that easy to get to but it was actually pretty good for our lunchtime get together I was told that the egg plant Parm was really special and so when my host order that I followed along and it was pretty good not as good as my brothers but pretty good If you're driving south of Richmond and have the taste for Italian food check out Little Italy by hitting the next exit down and driving the side road back it's worth the excursion read more

You would never think a little place off of 95 in VA would have great Italian food. This place does!! We were VERY pleasantly surprised! They have a GREAT beer selection, even have Peroni, and their portions are great. My mom and stepmom had mini Strombolis. While they were a bit more like a calzone, they were ENORMOUS!! They were chock full of ingredients and cheese and the dough was light and amazing. My Greek salad was fine, nice portion. Staff was friendly. We are from NY and are picky about our Italian. Driving through on 95 during dinner time and found this little gem on Yelp. Placed an order for chicken cacciatore, chicken Marsala and pescatore. Though pasta was a little over cooked, the sauce and overall flavor was quite delicious. Wasn't surprised because walking up to the restaurant tantalizing smells surrounded us. Easily one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to. A definite go-to when I don't feel like cooking at home. From appetizers to dessert, the food is flavorful and has homemade appeal. The staff is friendly and is usually very attentive (I have been coming here for a few years and rarely have to ask for a refill). The setting is casual and friendly, with music playing in the background and a television to watch when it's time to quiet down and eat. The price is very fair and portions are quite generous! For appetizers, I recommend their onion rings - lightly battered and deep fried just until crunchy. They have plenty of other appetizers, including mozzarella sticks and other Italian staples, to choose from. Every entree I've eaten has been greatly satisfying! Jack's chicken is a creamy alternative to the more mainstream dishes such as chicken Marsala or piccata. The dish features a sauce with deep flavors which complement the veggies (especially mushrooms) and chicken very well. The chicken is tender, and the pasta is served al dente. Most other pasta dishes seem to have veal variants as well. The deluxe pizza has what you would expect (a bit of everything). The crust is amazing - very tasty and with a crunch that isn't overwhelming (I could eat it fine even though I wear braces). The chefs don't overwhelm the pizzas with sauce so the flavor of the toppings comes through nicely. Their white pizza is also a tasty choice if you prefer olive oil and garlic to traditional pizza sauce. Robust flavor and a nice change from the norm! The Stromboli is another great alternative those who don't want tomato-based sauces. Their tasty dough, generously stuffed with ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese chunks and ham slices, is baked until the shell has a crisp texture. Served with marinara sauce on the side for those who like to dip, but perfectly flavorful on its own! Great for those who want to take home leftovers. My favorite desserts are their cheesecake and limoncello cake. The cheesecake is a little rich (as to be expected), while the limoncello (soft, moist cake with lemon/ citrus filling, frosting and shavings for added texture) is more delicate, and its citrus flavor complements certain dishes better than cheesecake would. The restaurant can be a little warm with the kitchen opened up but this has never been a problem for me. Choose your seat wisely if you get warm or hot easily! Parking can be a little tricky depending on how busy the restaurant is (and how courteous other customers are with their vehicles) but I have always managed to find a spot. If parking spaces were marked somehow, this wouldn't be an issue at all. The location is great - a quick drive to the interstate in either direction, and not far from town. Wait and serving times are always quick, even if the restaurant is slammed! Perfect for locals or those just passing through. Overall, a hidden gem of a restaurant that will surely satisfy your taste buds! read more

I don't live in this area, but this restaurant is right off I95 (Exit 33 in N. Va) on a route I travel occasionally. The Italian fare is very good and beats all of the fast food on the road in quality and price. Quick, friendly service is consistent with every visit. I've ordered pizza, which had a crisp crust and flavorful sauce. The meatball sub was excellent, and the pasta was al dente.
