Went to Little Jo-To for Lunch today and was very happy with my choice. I ordered a Tempura Bento Box with Shrimp and veggies. It also included clear soup, ginger salad, fried rice and 3 filled wontons. The service was great and the decor is very pleasant. They have a Lunch Special, Tuesday-Friday $12.99 from 11-2:00. Brief Summary: Little Jo To is a small, hole in the wall, family owned restaurant that is owned and operated by the former head chef of the original Jo-To's restaurant by the airport. They have various types of Japanese cuisine available. All of which will leave you with a smile on your face! They may have dropped the cooking in front of you part of the dining experience, but man oh man is the food still worth it! If you miss the old Jo-To's, come check out the new one! Would I Recommend This Restaurant? Absolutely! Without any hesitation! The Food: They offer an array of Japanese delights. Everything from Teriyaki, to hibachi, to your favorite types of tempura. The food has all of the delicious flavors of the original restaurant thanks to the masterful cooking of chef Van! The soup, the salad, the fried Oreos, it's all incredible! They have my most favorite clear soup and hibachi of any Japanese restaurant that I've ever been to. It's truly difficult to find anything on the menu that isn't worth putting a dent in your bank account for! All in all, I promise you, you won't be disappointed with the deliciousness that they serve here! Value: The portions here are VERY generous! Service and Staff: The front of the house is run by chef Van's wife. She is AS SWEET as they come! Just a truly incredible family. I actually remember her from when I was a kid and I went to the original Jo-To's restaurant. When I was about 6, I wasn't feeling good, and she brought me a ginger ale to help settle my stomach. It was something I never forgot! She still has the same sweet personality, and the service they offer here follows her example! Location and Interior: The location is on a major road. There is ample parking as well which is always a plus. The interior though is BEAUTIFUL! It gives me true Japanese vibes in there. With the little lanterns hanging from the ceiling, it made me feel like they brought a little piece of Japan here to the states! Final Thoughts: Chef Van still remembers me from when my Mom would bring me in when I was a baby. We're talking some 28 years ago. He never forgot my mother or I, and he has always been such a hard working genuine person. Him and his wife have a truly beautiful family and a truly beautiful restaurant. Wonderful that the head chef opened up his own restaurant after cooking for 30 years and the old Jo To's restaurant which closed its doors a couple of years ago. Food quality is above top notch in quality. All prepared the Japanese way but without the cook burner at each table. Little Jo To's has become my first choice when going out to dinner. The prices are beyond fantastic and reasonable for what you are getting to eat. I would highly suggest you visit this restaurant. read more

Very unfortunate experience at this place recently. First, I want to say that the server was wonderful, very attentive and eager to make our experience positive. The food, however, was terrible. My wife had shrimp tempura and I had katsu. Both were heavy, dry, greasy, and obviously reheated. Tempura should be extremely light and tender; my wife's was neither. And the katsu was dry and tasteless. It's possible that items on the hibachi menu are better, but we won't be back to find out. All I can say about those who posted raving reviews here is that they must never have been to a good Japanese restaurant. read more

Ever since the oricinal JoTo near the airport closed I missed the restaurant. A coworker who lives near Little JoTo said the new restaurant was open on Rt 70. The food is the same but instead for the cooking show and waiting for the differt food items to cook, you get your food hot all on one plate. The Soup and salad are the same and the entree's are still the best. If you were a fan of the original JoTo you will love this place. read more

My daughter loved going to the original Jotos near the airport for years. We were happy to find Little Jotos recently. We went for an early dinner. There are no hibachi tables, but the food - from the soup, salad, shrimp, rice, to veggies and sauces all tasted just as we remembered. Service was excellent. The interior was well decorated. This was our first time trying this restaurant and we were so impressed. We will be back!! The flavors of the sauces were outstanding. The chef takes six hours just to make the teriyaki sauce from scratch and you can tell, it is FABULOUS--service outstanding --five stars all the way. Sign said closed at 9, so I decided from parking lot to just order carry out. 8:32 called, they answered, when I ask to place carry out they said the kitchen closed at 8:30. Was so sad to hear the original jotos was leaving (by the airport) and then we saw little jotos was coming and it's like they never left! Everything is the same and food tastes great. Service was great. The only down fall is it's a lot smaller but for good food we can deal. Even the take out one time was perfect. read more

This little hole-in-the-wall is amazing! Service is great. Three of us ordered the Hibachi Filet and one ordered the Hibachi Scallop dinner. All Started with a bowl of delicious clear but tasty soup then fresh lettuce with ginger dressing. Our dinners came with shrimp appetizer, filet cooked to our order, choice of fried or white rice, zucchini, mushrooms, onions & sesame seeds. The scallops were outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly and all four of us raved about the whole meal. We will definitely be coming here frequently. read more

Although this is not a cook-at-the-table, as was the Jo/To on 41(it was near the airport). The food is just as good, and well prepared. I was so happy to have Jo/To's back in business and near me.
