I had the pleasure of using this company for the first time today. I cannot say enough about the experience. From my first call with Brenda all the way to John repairing my refrigerator, the entire process was stellar. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Brenda took my call at the end of the day and still took the time to answer all of my questions and get me scheduled asap. She was friendly, knowledgeable and most of all made me feel like my problem was the most important issue at hand.I spoke with her just before closing on Tuesday and John was at my house at 7am on Thursday. This was coming off a very bad experience with American Appliance (whom I have been a loyal customer to for 20+ years). American Appliance stood me up, had zero concern, made no apology, was rude and indifferent when I addressed the issue and showed an extreme lack of professionalism. Within minutes of my initial conversation with Brenda I had an email and text confirmation of the service ticket. On Thursday I received another set of reminders to let me know John was in route to my house and John called me from the warehouse to let me know he was 10 minutes behind because he was picking up the part he suspected was in need of replacement. He arrived right on schedule, was professional, diagnosed the issue quickly and got busy fixing the problem. Luckily the problem he suspected was indeed the culprit and because he took it upon himself to get the part beforehand he saved me a second service call and I didn't have to wait on the part being ordered, etc. In less than an hour he was all finished and heading on to the next customer. He explained what he was doing as he was working and was able to educate me in the process. Brenda and John are a fabulous team and have earned my business from here on out. If you are looking for a company that provides great service, is affordable and treats the customer with respect then look no further. I am officially their customer now. Our fridge died late in the afternoon the day before a holiday. The appliance dealership/repair people that we have used for many years offered to come the next week(!). That may be okay for a washer but any delay with a dead refrigerator results in significant spoiled food costs. I found Little John on Yelp and liked what I read. (Ignore the one nasty Yelp review. It doesn't correspond to what everyone else reported and certainly doesn't fit with our experience. Some people are nasty by nature.) John rushed over because the parts distributor would be closed for the next three days. He wanted to be sure he got to us in time to get any needed parts before the close of business. He could have played around for a few hours to pad the bill or sold us parts we didn't need. Instead, he immediately identified the problem and had the fridge running again in minutes. His bill was astoundingly low. John won fans in our household and we are passing his name along to all our friends. We will definitely be calling John any time an appliance acts up. I had a refrigerator that wasn't cooling, and did a google search for someone that could repair in my area. I came across John, and texted initially, then he followed up with a call. He could have almost diagnosed over the phone, but since I wasn't home we met at my home. He was accomodating to a time, and was on time. We ordered the part needed and he will be back to complete the job in a couple days. So far so good. I will update this review when the job is complete, but John has done a great job so far. 2nd part of Review The part arrived, and John came promptly the same day. He came in the evening, and fixed it quickly. We happened to also have a leak in the guest bathroom sink. I asked if he was able to fix, and he was able to as well. Nice to be able to find a person who can fix more than one appliance/home fixtures. He was awesome. I will recommend him to my family and friends when they are looking for someone. Okay, I'm going to join Little John's five-star club. This company and its repair man rocks! I called with a little knowledge of what was probably wrong with my washing machine, and John was able to confirm my suspicions. But then he went above and beyond by giving me a really specific estimate, and when it was clear that it was going to be costly, he gave me great advice about my options, including the reality that it may be better to buy a new machine given the age of my current one and the likely repairs it's going to need not so far down the line. I am also a small business owner, and so I know the importance of good customer service. John was awesome. I will be recommending him whenever I can. My refrigerator stop cooling... And I was scared to call someone to come out and fix it. that will cost an arm and a leg... So I googled and came across Little John appliance repair. So when I called John answer and he was asking me a few questions and told me what it could be... And he said he will be out to check it out in a couple hrs. We agree and then within 5 mins he said that he would actually be @ my house in 20mins so when he came he looked to see what's the problem and there was a freon leak and instead of trying to make money off of me and repair the problem he told me my refrigerator has a 5 yr warranty and I should call them because it's a free repair and free is always better... I would totally recommend Little John appliance for everyone... And he is the person I would call in the future if I have another problem... He has a returning customer for life... This guy is a rip off. He charged my daughter over $300 for a refrigerator repair. Less than ,1 week after the repair, the problem still persists. She has called him, emailed him multiple times and he has refused to respond. Apparently he will wait 14 days to respond and then try and charge you a $69 service call, to replace what he failed to do the first time. STAY CLEAR OF LITTLE JOHN'S. I am very disappointed with this business. I have worked with John twice now within 6 months and called him a second time as I had a good rapport with him the first time. Last month I called him to service our dryer as it was having an issue. While he was there I asked him to address our washer as it was not draining properly. Upon doing so, he told me it needed a bearing to help the machine to properly drain which I agreed to pay him to do. My bill was around 500 dollars for both washer/dryer and labor. I also paid him a tip on top of the bill to thank him for his service. One month later, the draining has not been corrected and is now worse. This may or may not be his fault, as I am not a machine specialist. My main issue and upset is that I called on Wednesday this week, and was told by his wife that he would be able to come later that day, and apparently there was a mix up in communications that he was out of town and unavailable. Fine, everyone miscommunicates sometimes, no problem. The problem here is that then on Thursday, next day, he calls in the morning to assure us he will be here that day and then again texts with our front desk coordinator to say hes on his way, and then stands us up. No call to explain, will not answer either his personal cell phone, or their phone number listed here. I have been very calm and non-reactive up to this point, as any thing could have happened. However, we have called numerous times and left messages on both numbers and feel as if we are being "blown off". The crappiest part of this is that I actually liked John and would have agreed to work with him to discuss what the deal is here and come to an agreement of how to proceed in fixing the issue. I run a very busy salon/spa and can not have no washer/dryer. I would have called someone else today but have wanted to try to reconcile this issue with him since I already paid a 500 dollar bill just last month to fix the same issue. I think if someone does work they should stand behind what they do and be honest and show up when they say so. If things happen, communicate, or have someone else call for you to apologize for not showing up to your customers appointment. Still no answer on the phone, still no call back.... Really uncool. I know a lot of people and would have gladly sent him business as I enjoy supporting local business owners. Im so very disappointed and feel like I got taken here. If anyone reading this can recommend another appliance repair person I would appreciate. I enjoy giving business to local workers and am very loyal to send them business. Too bad John lost out on our business. Wish him well. Meanwhile Im out a lot of money and now have to pay someone else to refix the same mess. To add to this review... Days later now, and after a few texts alerting him I was unhappy, John then days later just called me and wants to yell at me to get his point across about why he stood me up. He claims that my receptionist asked his wife to send invoices to us, and that that makes him feel that we dont trust his work. What is the issue of a customer wanting to see the invoices of previous work done within 6 months to see what may be under warranty? It obviously offended him that we wanted to see the invoices, and also he claims he was upset because our receptionist "spoke disrespectful to him". Which somehow was his claim to cover why he chose not to show up when he told us he was on his way. He was straight up yelling at me on the phone, when I had apologized if someone had made him feel a certain way, he could not at ANY POINT APOLOGIZE for his bad service of standing me up. I even asked pointed out that I had apologized if our front desk was abrupt with him, and that he STILL could not simply apologize for days of no response after his stand up to our appointment. He got his feelings involved here, instead of simply just coming to our appointment, or simply just call me, the owner, to resolve any issue since we had had a good rapport in the past. Instead, he felt it was ok, to start YELLING at me on the phone then hung up on me because I told him he really should apologize for not showing up when I had to personally cancel an appointment sitting there for hours waiting for him. RUDE RUDE RUDE. I would not use his service again. I simply tried to be clear about what exactly I paid for, because I didnt quite understand all the charges and he was condescending and yelling at me. WOW. I would not ever call him again and now have had to pay another person to fix my washer when I would have just paid him if it was a different part that needed fixing. Very unprofessional way to handle a customer that has been good to you in the past, even giving him a tip on top of his fees. I cant believe he just yelled at me. Absolutely top notch! The scheduling process was quick and painless. John called me on the day of the appointment and asked if he could come by early, which worked out for me as well. He took a look at my leaky washing machine, diagnosed the issue and asked if I felt comfortable replacing the part myself. When I agreed, he charged me a straight diagnosis fee and then ordered the part for me at cost. It arrived the next day and I replaced it in about 10 minutes. Total cost was $89. In my experience, this is about what other companies charge just to show up. John was polite, professional and friendly and I enjoyed our conversation as much as I enjoyed getting my washer fixed. I can't give enough praise for this repair man. He showed up on time, Did what it took to fix my refrigerator. And it did not seem an easy fix Or easy to diagnose. He had to go get parts and actually came back. Unlike the other person who gave me a diagnosis that was wrong, charged me $75, refused to fix it and left. I had my refrigerator repaired April 17th. I had the same problem again within the month. He made an appointment with my the following Thursday (I waited a week for the appointment). I waited 45 minutes and he never showed. I talked to him on the phone and he was 1 hour away at another job. He said he'd call me when he was on his way. That was Thursday and today is Tuesday. I still haven't heard from him and nobody answers his office phone or returns phone messages. I would NEVER use this company again. I paid for a repair that didn't last the month. I guess he doesn't want to come out and fix something he didn't fix right the first time since he can't charge me again. read more

As an owner of an out-of-state second home and rental property, I rely on reviews and recommendations of others when maintenance or repair calls warrant service for the property. Unfortunately, my experience with Little John's Appliance Repair doesn't jive with the stellar reviews from many of the clients. Needing diagnostics and repairs on a 2012 Maytag front-loading washer, I solicited the services of Little John's. Unfortunately, their assessment of: "it is either bad shocks or possibly a failed circuit board" turned out to be just that ---- a guessing game, and at my expense. After an initial service call of $55 and then a final repair bill of $398.08, I figured the washer was indeed fixed. Only one week later, my tenant contacted my realtor to notify him that the washer would not operate AT ALL. Clearly, shocks/springs had nothing to do with washer malfunction, and I paid out nearly 50% of the cost of a brand new washer for nothing. Now I face spending another $300+ to replace the real problem, THE CIRCUIT BOARD, or replace the entire laundry pair ---- little did I know that delivery/installers will not stack "unmatched or unpaired washer/dryer" combinations. Of course, being a 2012 dryer (which works perfectly fine), there are no Maytag front-load washers produced that will "match" the dimensions of the broken washer. SO, I would not recommend Little John's. Sorry --- glad some of you have had better a better experience with them. I did not. Live and learn! read more

I really wanted to be able to leave a good review. But things didn't work out that way. We called him out to do a repair on a stove. He showed right up. Very friendly. We put in an order for the item we needed. We were told it should be here in a few days. The item didn't show up. Then we were told that they didn't make the part anymore. He took a part and said he would contact me back and try to make it work. We didn't hear back from him at that point. So I just called ge, ordered the part myself and installed in in 2 days. I sent them a text saying we took care of it. They still haven't responded back at all. We were without a stove for almost a week and half. Would not recommend to anyone else. read more

I am highly disappointed! This man has all of these great reviews which is why I hired him. Unfortunately he came to my tenants home and told me I needed a new motor for my washing machine. I was upset but went ahead and replaced the motor for $300. The next day my tenant called me and told me it was making the same banging noise it had made before he put the motor in. So I called him back he went back over and he told me it was the springs and the bushings. He told me he tightened them up and I should have no problems for a while. The next day my tenant called me and told me it was leaking water all over the floor. I was hoping maybe that he could take the $300. motor and use it somewhere else because at this point I am buying another unit. I called and he never responded. I have called him and spoken with his secretary several times and no call back. I think this man is a scammer and would not use him ever again. read more

**FIRST, PLEASE NOTICE THAT ALMOST EVERY REVIEW HERE FOR LITTLE JOHN'S IS WRITTEN BY PEOPLE IN CALIFORNIA. How is this possible when this man's business has always been based out of Florida??? This was verified by him. I called LIttle John's because my dishwasher was having a smell on a regular basis. I suggested to him that maybe it was not draining properly to remove all food particles. HE SAID ON PHONE INITIAL VISIT WAS $50. When he got there, he unhooked the hose from under the sink and ran the drain cycle 2 or 3 times. A few small particles of food came out of drain and he said that must have been it. I didn't really think that would fix it and voiced that to him. He said, don't worry we have a 90 day warranty. HE THEN SAID THE CHARGE WAS $70, because that was the minimum for dishwashers, even though I was quoted $50 on phone. I paid it, instead of arguing. I tried to call him about 3 weeks later, because I was still having the problem. The phone number we had reached him on before was no longer in service. I tried several more times over a few weeks, but still not in service. Finally, I looked on line one more time and there was a new number for him and finally reached him. He claimed that had always been the phone number even though the business card he gave me has a different number. HE DID NOT STAND BEHIND HIS WORK. He said his notes said he was called to fix a drain problem and now I was calling about a problem with a smell. That is not a technical issue he could repair. It made no sense, because I originally called because of the smell, which I was hoping could corrected by making sure the dishwasher was operating properly, He said he felt I was taking advantage of him, when it was obviously the opposite. I told him I would dispute the charge on my credit card, so instead he refunded my card through the Paypal account of the original transaction. This was the only part of the experience that was positive, 1 star instead of zero. My dishwasher still smells, so I will seek out a more reliable repair person that stands behind their work. read more

Terrible customer service by the owner, Brenda. She was aware they were coming to a two story townhouse to clean dryer vents. After giving me a price for both going on the roof and not, depending on severity of problem, technicians informed tenants it is illegal to go on roof. I then spoke with association manager who said not illegal. She then told me she needed roof specs to decide if it was safe for her techs. She then back tracked after speaking with association manager herself, and said they just do not go on 2nd story roofs at all. So, at the end of the day, job was not fully completed. I called Little John's today as my electric dryer stopped heating, it was just blowing cold air. We set up an appt later that morning and he arrived right on time. He doesn't fit the "typical" mold for an appliance repair guy, no uniform, no fancy work truck, but that all changed when he got to work on my dryer. He definitely knows his business. Within about 5 minutes he diagnosed the problem, went to his vehicle to get the part, and had it up and running in about 30 minutes. After fixing the dryer, he spent several minutes giving me advice and how to maintain my most of the appliances in my house. I feel I am a pretty good judge of character and it is my opinion that this guy is as honest and hard working as the day is long. I highly recommend Little Johns and I am glad I finally found someone I trust. read more

John arrrived exactly when he said he would. Worked on our dryer and then helped to haul our heavy washer out of the garage and into the house. He then spent over an hour making sure it was in it's best working condition, too. He had to order a part for the dryer, but as soon as it arrived he called early to install it without charging for extra labor. He even set up our stackable units with the safety brackets without charging us extra. He gave us a few tips to ensure our washer and dryer stay in good condition. John is extremely kind and fair, you'd be hard pressed to find a better appliance repair guy. read more

Little John is quite the guy to call for appliance repair. I had taken apart my Mother's drier trying to find the reason for it not starting. I had the timer and the on/off switch tested and both tested good. I was not sure how to remove and replace or test the door switch so I decided to call someone. John had so many good reviews on Yelp I had to give him a try. He told my Mom that he would be there between 10-12. Around 10 he called and said he was running a bit late and would be there in 15 minutes. And he was! It was only a few minutes before he discovered that one of the pins in the timer was bent and not making correct contact. He straightened out the pin and voila, the drier was as good as ever. Little John and wife came out Memorial Day weekend as promised. We had a whirlpool wall oven that would not heat or cook or broil that was 2 months out of warranty. He asked us a few questions about display controls without opening the oven door or using a single tool or diagnostic tool to determine the particular problem. He said he'd make some calls to the technical department, (I'd tried already to access tech support, however, there is zero support for whirlpool ovens techs.) I said to let us know, thought perhaps he had access as a repair man to sites unknown to the average consumer. In fairness, we weren't charged a service fee, but anyway he didn't even open the oven door so I would have had a HUGE problem being charged to stand in my kitchen for 10 minutes and not lay a hand on the appliance. A week passed without contact. We'd been making only stove top or grill or microwave meals, but not starving, so not a huge deal. I called a week after the holiday. Wife said sorry, they were still doing research but should have called and would call us shortly. Never happened, absolutely no follow up. Never heard a word from this company again EVER. He basically tied up time in getting the oven repaired, doing nothing to change the fact we had no use of oven. My boyfriend was disgusted, he diagnosed problem and bought the part from appliance parts depot store in Largo, Florida. The parts store was very helpful. Oven is working, NO THANKS to Little John. It's been a while since Memorial Day and we NEVER got a call or resolution to repair. I think this needs to be noted. Poor customer service and communication! Would never recommend! IF THEY CAN BE GIVEN A NO STAR I WOULD. She, (Joleyn if i'm not mistaken) the operator was rude and definitely has no understanding and proceeded to hang up on me. I called them to fix my dishwasher that was leaking. He came out, ran the dishwasher, it didn't leak at that time and assume that it was the way I set my dishes. He was in and out within 20 minutes. I thought it was funny I paid $70 for someone to tell me I am not setting the dishes the right way in the dishwasher and laughed it off. 2 weeks later I ran the dishwasher again and it leaked again. I took all the dishes out, ran it and it still leaked. I usually run my dishwasher at night. I got tied up with work and was traveling a lot. I finally had a chance to call them back and it is passed their "30 day" grace period, mind you I am not calling about a different appliance, same dishwasher, same problem and they want to charge me another $70 for coming out and telling me what they didn't solve before. I am not even asking for a free or discounted repair. Just to come out again and tell me what is wrong with it like they were suppose to the first time. read more
