We were hungry for a bit of sushi today, and stopped in for a late lunch. This place is pretty run down and ragged looking, but we ordered a couple California rolls, an eel roll and a couple spicy tuna rolls. The plates were not all brought out at once, but o e at a time. Started with cali roll. Not bad, but I suppose pretty hard to screw up. Then came the eel. The eel was tough and not really great. The spicy tuna was just a tuna roll, with a small squirt of hot sauce on each slice. Absolute garbage. I think the hot sauce was bad or something? That got sent back. On top of that, somewhere between the eel roll and the spicy tuna being brought to the table, we were greeted by a roach scurrying up the wall and onto the table. See attached photo. read more

Multiple rolls were ordered in my party, with each having a foul smell and less than average presentation. Salad was served with brown lettuce. The sushi was amazing here! I got the Tennessee Roll and my friend got the Kobe!! The man that greeted me and provided my to go box was so kind and very thorough. He made sure I received everything. I have always enjoyed Little Kobe's food, it makes me sad that they are not as popular as they used to be because their food is so good. I usually always get their terriyaki chicken or sukiyaki steak, or just chicken and steak and I turns out great every time. today I tried something new, Nubeyaki Udon noodles. They were amazing!!! I have had other noodles because at Toki and they were not the best but the noodles at Little Kobe were AMAZING!! 10/10 recommend. I have also tried their sushi and it was pretty good too, I'm not usually a fan of raw sushi but this was really good too. I hope little Kobe can go back to being as popular as they used to be. the customer service is great and they only have 2 workers so Im always patient. Me my wife and kids made reservations, for the grill show for my birthday dinner, and for the kids to see the cooking display for dinner to be prepared. A large group was over at the next grill. Finally the guy comes out but goes to their grill so my wife and I are thinking they were here first so makes sense. Then turns back around and continues to say stuff under his breath, and continues to try to go with some conflict, all because I asked a simple question and my wife and I were getting frustrated that he became so rude, out of the blue just for me nicely asking a question. He could have left it at sorry we are short staffed, but know he had said atleast 3 times at this point atleast you got your food this is where I got irritated and made the remark okay dude, we're not mad we're not even making this an argue meant I asked a question, we got your point chill out. All while he's giving the other table twice the portion sizes he was giving us, at this point we were fed up spoke to another gentlemen, told him we wasnt eating there then he was okay I'll only charge you for the salad, and drinks and a sushi roll. The food was super expensive for what we got. I ordered 3 different sushi rolls and calamari. Everyone single piece of sushi barely had any fish in it. Like the tiniest amount of salmon you could barely taste it. They mainly put the cheap veggies to take up the room so theirs food cost is low. The calamari was disappointing too, it was soggy. I could have gotten the same stuff at Walmart next door for way cheaper. Other places in town serve amazing sushi that puts this place to shame. read more

When I said our meals are messed they become ugly about it and when I said I wasn't going to pay for this they said no we will make it right . Use to be my favorite place and we would go almost once a week, until today. After eating our soup and salad the guy comes out to fix the food hes hateful and apparently aggravated and super rude. We almost left at this point but didnt. Anyways after her left the table we found 3 baby roaches on our table 1 was crawling up the sky sauce bottle. I told the nice man and was kinda like we clean every day maam, yes but do you spray. We stopped eating and the waitress said I will get the bill. First, let me start out by saying their food is isn't an issue. Flavors were decent, food was of decent quality, and it was cooked properly. Portions weren't impressive, but also weren't so small to be a ripoff. The servers were friendly. They were also a little pushy about getting us to leave, even though the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. But, the big issues were the menu and the bathrooms. The menu was confusing and limited, mostly because it was a fairly typical limited lunch menu...no full menu was offered, and the prices weren't commensurate with lunch specials...unless their dinner prices are outrageous. We also saw material about sushi, but couldn't figure out how to order it. More importantly, the men's room was foul. Covered in dirt and other particulate matter. Tobacco? Every surface was filthy. Based on the bathroom alone I couldn't recommend them. Shame, too, because with bigger portions they'd have the food to go toe-to-toe with most decent small-town Japanese joints. read more

I was looking for a Japanese restaurant in and found this nice place called Little Kobe. The first thing I noticed was they have a great variety of lunch specials. I ordered a bento box lunch special and some sushi on the side. The sushi was fresh and the bento box came with a ton of awesome food such as gyoza , tempura as well as a sushi roll. But tonight me and my friend went to eat there and I found a hair in my Cookeville roll, yes I did eat nearly all of it but the hair was in the last piece and the waitress even said she would take it off the bill. When I went to pay the guy was super rude and refused to take it off the bill, he even threatened to call the cops when I said I wasn't paying for someone's hair. The poor waitress even tried to tell him there was a food in my hair, and just like he was to me he was rude to her. I went in at a little after lunch time at a suggestion from a friend. I the sun was bright as I entered and paused at the little entry way before entering. I noticed how filthy the floor was but went on in. There was no one in there but me and waitress brought me the menu then said she had to leave and the cook would take my order. I've been to a lot better Hibachi restaurants in other towns but this one is decent. No complaints about the food which is consistently good. Sushi is fresh and of good quality. Food cooked on the hibachi grill is yummy. Service is....so-so. The waitresses never seem very happy to be there and the show you typically expect at a hibachi grill is meh - they tend to put on a better show if there are kids at the table though.
