My family and I have been coming here for 20+ years. And is always a solid choice for good chinese food. The food quality has gotten better recently after raising their prices. Now the food reminds of my childhood again. The food is good, well seasoned and when asked has a good balance of protein to vegetables.

Broccoli beef and white rice. Sweet and sour chicken with rice... more rice than protein...

They may be sweet and nice but they are watering down what we pay for. I dont want my meals to include white rice but they come with it... Its a waste of food and money from customers. Its like diluting what you actually expect to get. We specifically asked for just the meals. No white rice. But they told us the white rice comes with it by default?! Thats the smartest way to get customers to pay more for less of what they expect! This place has always been hyped by kids in the past. But I do not recommend any chinese food in marin county period. The East Bay-- Oakland Chinatown is where its at. Not coming back to order ever again! Do not water down my food with white rice! Do not water down my coffee! Do not water down anything! You will lose customers and may be like the rest-- shut down!

Everyone I know that is from San Rafael including me knows where the best Chinese food comes from and this is the spot. I've been coming here since I was a kid. The OG dish is the Magnolian Beef with white rice, just wow! The food from this place just has so much flavor no wonder they have been in business for so long. Plus the lady that's been working there for years is really sweet and nice (maybe she's the owner). I've been to many Chinese restaurants and have had plenty of take out to know good Chinese. Also it's not like other Chinese restaurants where some folks are just mean . My go to for Chinese oh and bring cash because it's cash only.

Foods decent. I like that the meals all come with rice already. Reasonably priced and large portions

Ok this little place I first tried 13 years ago and even through this rough pandemic they stand strong today. They currently only have take out but trust me you won't be disappointed. My favorite is the prawns in lobster sauce made with onions, bell peppers and carrots. The Mongolian beef is carefully cooked with the perfect texture. Very reasonable price for such good food. If you like supporting small businesses that give you the most bang for your buck this is the best value in Marin county. Hands down

I was looking forward to trying this place and really wanted to love this place. There's often a long line of customers. The staff are super friendly. But the food for me was disappointing. The noodles for the Singapore noodles with shrimp seemed like instant noodles thiugh the shrimp and broccoli were good. The orange chicken and Mongolian beef were so-so, not bad and not fantastic. The rice was lumpy and thick (maybe too much water?).

The owner Denise is super nice and the Mongolian Tofu is delicious!

Great Chinese for Marin County (obviously not the most eclectic county in the world). Service was good. I'll be back. Thanks much.

San Rafael 4th street has a lot to offer - and it's worth checking these spots out. The storefront is inviting and the inside of the restaurant is clean and well organized and appointed. The wine and beer list has few choices - and I would encourage a little more local variety to make it inviting to a wine lover like myself. I was efficiently approached by wait staff and felt welcomed I ordered Pad Woon Sen, which I've never before tried. The food came quickly - a beautiful dish of thin noodles and mushrooms with onions and celery adorned with steak. I finished my plate. Perfect lunch portion. Attentive service. The taste of quality ingredients and pride in their efforts. I will add this to my go-to spots in San Rafael!

We ordered the Kung Pao Scallops (without the green bell pepper, which they were happy to accommodate). The scallops were so tender and fresh tasting, and the portion was generous for a $21 dish of scallops, onion, water chestnuts, slices of crunchy seaweed and peanuts. We also ordered the spicy garlic eggplant which was a huge portion and melted in our mouths. The sauce is the traditional sweet, tangy and spicy which they got in pretty good balance with the piping hot eggplant. It's great to know about this place. The menu is huge so much to keep coming back for. And our server (from Goa surprisingly) was super sweet and friendly. I would only recommend them changing two white lightbulbs that were out of theme with all the others of a softer warm tone. I'm sensitive to lighting so I wanted to point that out because it's much more inviting to have the warm tone, and so rare for a Chinese restaurant to care so much about lighting. I will be back!

It probably would of been better if it wasn't near 90*F outside. It didn't appear like they have AC, since all the doors were open. This restaurant looks new on the outside, but looks "old-school" on the inside. The only thing missing was.....chopsticks on the table. I ordered: -Tomato Beef Chow Mein, $15.95, serves two. Very good Tomato Beef Chow Mein. Every piece of beef was tender and easy to eat. The chunks of tomato, bell pepper and onion were in small bite sized pieces. Perfect for eating with chopsticks. The sauce was tangy and lightly sweet. What was missing was the "Wok Hei." Aka...."the breath of the Wok," it's the unique smoky aroma that adds a special flavor to stir fry food. - Salt & Pepper Fried Chicken Wings, $17.95, 9 wings. To be clear, these are "flats." Unfortunately, the customer service I experienced during a recent pickup order was the worst I've ever encountered. When I arrived, I was told my total was $51. I then asked to add two drinks, and was told my new total was $71. Confused, I politely asked if I had misheard the original amount because I thought I had been told $51. Instead of simply clarifying, the employee responded with a rude and condescending comment implying that I didn't know how to listen. I immediately apologized and explained that I was only trying to confirm the amount and that it wasn't a big deal. The interaction should have ended there, but it only got worse. After having some trouble with my card, I asked for a receipt. At that point, I was spoken to in an incredibly disrespectful manner and was told I needed to "calm down" and stop rushing her, despite the fact that I had remained polite throughout the entire interaction. I've worked with the public long enough to understand that everyone can have a bad day, but there is absolutely no excuse for speaking to customers this way. The food is excellent, but no customer should be treated with such hostility and disrespect over a simple question about their bill. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was genuinely the rudest customer service experience I have ever had. I won't be back EVER

On 12/24/25, we couldn't get through their regular phone number quite a few times due to a busy signal. We then placed a Door Dash order at 4:50pm. After the app updating the delivery time several times, the order was suddenly "cancelled by the restaurant." We were really looking forward to our dinner for two hours, so you can imagine our disappointment and scrambling for alternatives on Christmas Eve. We did receive a refund for the exact amount that was charged to the credit card. We had decided to try the restaurant again on 12/31/25. Again, we couldn't get through. So I went in person to place the order to ask why the restaurant cancelled our 12/24/25 order. I've never heard of a confirmed order being cancelled before. They said they "cancel Door Dash orders at 6:30pm. A lot of people were disappointed, too." I said but we had placed our order at 4:50pm. I couldn't understand his reasoning. We decided to never use them again. Despite our terrible inconvenience and decision to never dine here again, we decided to place an order today 12/31/25 at 4:19pm for pick-up in person, so I could ask in person what happened on 12/24/25. They said today's order would take 25-30 minutes. It was ready at 4:37pm. That was redeemable, but we still don't understand what happened on 12/24:25 and don't feel confident that it will never happen again. So I imagine the lesson learned is beware of placing Door Dash orders at this restaurant! See photos for proof of our experience.
