Little Market (Indian, Pakistan, Thai Ingredients

This is my second review for the Little Market off Commercial! I am from DC and very multi-cultured; As is my family! I must say - IF - IF you love to cook you will find an array of selections! Not only is everyone helpful but extremely Friendly... if you love Indian / Paki cuisine - they are sure to have the spices you are looking for! Please support minority owned businesses! After all that's what gives America her flavor!

Little Market is little but not smallish, and to make up for its size, its loaded with all kinds of Indian and other exotic spices and, for lack of a better word, "stuff." It's also kind of weird because every time I've been there, half of the store is neatly arranged and well stocked with the other half of the store, though clean, generally in some stage of disorder. The prices are exceptionally reasonable and it's a great place to pick up any spice ingredients you may need for Indian cooking especially for traditional dishes or Bombay area regional.

Great service. Amazing what they have in that tiny store. The cashier helped me select products also. Very friendly.

Everything is kept in neat order. Prices are pretty reasonable. And the fact that it also has some mini takeout/restaurants on site is a huge place. We could finish the shopping while waiting for the order to get ready. The place has a huge parking lot. The store is in progressive village. The traffic here is a lot lighter. They have a fish market where we can get fresh fish cleaned and cut in a way you like. The only minor complaint was that nobody was there to assist when I went. Maybe they were under staffed. This place is a must if you are Asian and need a big bag of rice. Count me as a regular customer here.

Now I don't have to traipse 30-40 minutes to Davie/Pembroke Pines/sunrise/Miramar just to get my Asian groceries. While this Asian supermarket is on the smallish side, it does pack a whole lot of goodies in. It caters more towards the Korean cuisine but they do have many Chinese & Southeast Asian products that I can pick up in a pinch. I will say their aisles are very narrow, only allowing for enough space for one way traffic flow. But their shelves are nearly organized compared to Mango Tree supermarket in Davie. Their produce section is small but they really pack a whole lot of unique produce that are hard to source elsewhere. For example they have Lion's mane mushrooms that I have not seen anywhere else. Their produce is fresh and reasonably priced. They have great meat section and all the kimchi and Korean banchan ingredients with some already prepped items available for purchase. The fresh fish section is very limited and nothing to write home about so will skip. But there are lots of frozen food items drinks, desserts, bags of rice and a few fast food restaurant stalls at the mouth of the entrance. Now when I'm cooking and find I need coconut milk or bean sprouts or crab sticks, I can run over to Kimchi mart in a pinch.

This is a brand new Italian market located in the Galt Mile area, just next door to Roberta's…read moreItalian restaurant, whose owners also own this small market. The market just opened this week (May 9th) and it has a good selection of the basic things you will find in a grocery market...like household products, cold beverages, snacks, paper goods, cleaning products, etc.... The main draw is the Italian influence on some of the goods here. You can find original pastas, olive oils, beverages, flours, cookies, snacks, olives, etc...all imported from Italy. So if you have a recipe that calls for certain Italian ingredients, and you can not find it in a regular grocery store, you might check Nino Market to see if they carry it. Their produce section is small, carrying the basic bananas, apples, limes, herbs, etc. They also have a prepared food section for people on the go and most of them are prepared at Roberta's and then sold here. I wish them good luck as they are a convenient place to grab some quick groceries if you are a neighbor or visitor to the area.

There aren't many real Italian markets in Broward. I place Nino's comparable in selection, a notch better quality and much better pricing than those in the eastside, Oakland/Commercial area. West of Federal Hwy, the few I've tried were poor and don't compete. Basically, to do better, at a higher price, one has to truck down to 17th and deal with a barrage of political nonsense from the owner. Worthy of note: prices in general are good, brands are authentic Italian, not marketing inspired branding from US food giants, the fresh pastas are to die for, lots of items difficult to find in other stores, good pizza by the slice is always a winner. Highly recommended.
