Great food very tasty, I had carne asada and chicken tacos. I liked the carne asada was a lot better. Prices are ok they have a taco Tuesday that I would like to go and check it out. The service was ok I wish they had complimentary chips and water. But the twcis were great and the guacamole was really good. The service was ok I wish they had given me utensils but didn't. This place is a hidden gem. It's a small restaurant but it feels so homey. They had plenty of snacks and Mexican ice cream. We ordered to go because we had our dog with us. I ordered 3 tacos de asada and my partner ordered 1 taco de chorizo, 1 de asada and 1 chicken. The tacos are soooooooooo good, the tortilla is crunchy but soft at the same time. I've been trying all the local spots in the area. This place came in second place but I believe the food is not authentic. It's maybe 80% and slightly over price. Look across the street so las Chonita. Their food are gonna be better and less pricing. Just an opinion. read more

Authentic Mexican tacos - the place was so busy even at 930pm! We got 2 birria, 2 Al pastor, 2 suadero tacos. Wish the Al pastor had pineapple but everything was so delicious. Just took a while to come out but that means it was fresh! 6 tacos for $24 + tip. read more

I enjoyed the tacos at El Papi. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and 1 taco de lengua. I asked for my tacos with no onion and they were happy to accommodate my request. Didn't get a chance to take any photos, but I had four chorizo tacos and one chicken taco. The tacos here are super authentic to the tacos that I had growing up around other Mexican kids and having dinners at their homes. Tacos, corn shell tacos they ask if you want onions and cilantro always get the onions and cilantro. You're not getting no gringo tacos here there's no flour tortilla. There's no sour cream. There's no Mexican shredded cheese and that's the way we like it. They do have some indoor seating and sometimes there is a wait but it's worth it. O M G........ this place is the spot!! A legit authentic taco spot. They also have a large selection of pastries and desserts that are just delicious the service has always been great. They will just take one large order then you split what you had when you go to pay at the register. Authentic and absolutely delicious. I've passed by this place for years and finally decided to stop in. Easily some of the best tacos I've ever had. The Birria tacos are a must try! Service was friendly and welcoming. Food was made fresh to order and came out quickly! They have a pastry case with daily fresh baked goods, and two cold cases with other tasty desserts. Wow. Both me and my wife were surprised how good the tacos were here. The meat was perfectly cooked....not dry. But I think the key was how they toasted the tortillas slightly. Normally taco places don't do that and the tortilla falls apart. The chips and salsa weren't the best but they tacos made up for it. I got the al pastor, lengua, tripe and carne asada...all were so good. I will make sure I stop by next time I am in Fort Lauderdale. read more

We always try to support small local businesses and try all the Latin food places (El Guanaco and El Balcon are still our favorites) but apparently if you don't speak Spanish you're not welcomed. The waitress gave us a dirty look when we responded in English and then never came back to our table to take our order. read more

I ordered, paid, sat down then BOOM she brought em out. "Fast food" got nothing on Blanca! I can't support Tacos El Papi after learning how they treat their employees. Management takes tips that should go to the hardworking staff, and when employees ask about it, they get fired. It's disappointing to see a business operate this way, especially when the owner claims to be Christian but doesn't practice fairness or honesty. Good businesses respect their workers, and customers deserve to know where their money is going. Until they change their practices, I won't be back. read more

Came to Blanca's late on a Saturday night because we wanted authentic tacos. Upon walking in I could tell immediately that the food would be fresh. The restaurant was very colorful and they plenty of seating in the front of the restaurant. The tacos were made right on the grill outside the restaurant. The reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because the wait was insane! My advice would be to not go here on a weekend night especially if you are looking to be served quickly. We ordered the vegetarian tacos and the al pastor tacos. Both were spectacular! The flavors were great and honestly, these were some of the most authentic tacos I've had in a while. Blanca's Bakery and el Papi tacos are the perfect mix. I have to admit we only gave this place a try because we thought the name was catchy and funny, but let me tell you something, these guys pack a lot more than a funny name. Their chillaquiles with pollo are delicious, but to me, their tacos are to die for. The service was amazing and el Papi was super fast to take our order and deliver it. We took some sweets home for dessert since we were already full, and it was well worth it. Chok definitely approves this place, but also I can say they have some of the best tacos around the area. There are several options on the main drag. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE! This place is as legit as it gets. You can smell and taste the difference. The staff is incredible and extremely accommodating. Most restaurants will only speak English to you even though you can speak fluent Spanish. The food, the experience, the vibe. Just look at the size of that burrito. Brb, food coma. read more

If you haven't had a torta from El Papi, you need to have one NOW. My favorite is the torta Michoacan. Of course, their tacos and other foods are good. However, their torta is my favorite with their homemade red sauce. The red sauce is smoky and spicy. Their "agua frescas" are delicious, too; my favorites are tamarindo y Jamaica. Then, you must have a tres leches cake (very sweet and moist). They have the best tres leches I have had in south Florida. The service is friendly. read more

Blanca's Bakery is a Mexican bakery and if you go here unable to speak Spanish, you may find yourself having problems communicating. But besides being a bakery it's also a restaurant with a good selection of tacos and tortas. I went for a taco campechano, a type of taco comprised of varying meats. In my case I think it was beef and pork (as chicharrón, longaniza) which is a combination well known to be mutually enhancing with more desirable flavors. Overall it was tasty, not bad, but not exceptional. I was happy to see their selection of tortas, as I never see much emphasis on them in other Mexican restaurants. It's long been said that the taco and the torta comprise the two main pillars of Mexican street food, and though the taco has long found its way into the heart of American foods, the torta is only beginning to immerge. This place is authentic and very affordable. I had two tacos, chips and salsa, bottled water, and a side of beans for $6. There are four large tables to sit at. There is a salsa bar. The taco meat was well flavored. The chips are thick fried corn tortillas. The red salsa had a kick to it. The staff is friendly and service was fast. There is parking right out front. What a great find while driving. They had blasting mexican music and out door cooking and seating that caught our eye. Their cuban sandwich was from another planet to feed a family of 20. My husband got the fish taco and the cheeseburger taco; he enjoyed the cheeseburger taco but the fish taco was mediocre. I got the buffalo chicken taco and the chimichurri steak taco; I enjoyed the buffalo chicken taco a lot, but the steak taco was just okay. The chips were good, but I didn't like the spicy sauce on the queso. Overall, it wasn't wonderful; it wasn't terrible, but it's also not a taco place I'm desperate to go back to.

One of my favorite parts about this place is that the owners are actually the chefs in the kitchen, preparing all of the dishes themselves. They're incredibly friendly and even come out to chat with guests, which makes the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. The barbacoa tacos are hands down my favorite. The meat is unbelievably tender literally falling apart and so juicy and flavorful. I also tried the campechano tacos (a mix of chorizo and steak) and they were sooo good. Perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. And let's talk about their chipotle salsa... I'm obsessed. I was putting it on everything on the table. It has the perfect smoky kick and just elevates every bite. The guac and chips were good, though they didn't quite stand out compared to how incredible the tacos were. But honestly, those tacos alone are reason enough to keep coming back. Safe to say I've found my new Taco Tuesday spot . Can't wait for my next visit!

For food I went with the Trio of Tacos for $18. There was one chicken taco, one carnitas taco, and one gringo beef taco. The tortillas were small; but they were piled high! They were also tasty. One friend had the Citrus Mango Shrimp Tacos, $19. She said they were very good. Two friends had the Baja Fish Tacos on our servers recommendation, $19. One friend said they were just ok because they weren't crunchy at all and she didn't care for the cilantro slaw filling, the other friend thought they were delicious and savory! Yet another friend had the chicken nachos. She didn't care for them at all because they had a cheese sauce as opposed to authentic shredded cheese. Our waiters were attentive; but we did have a little delay with one of the fish taco orders. Everyone had food except for one diner and we had to flag down a server and wait quite a while for her to finally get her meal. Everyone on the staff was friendly though, and they didn't mind giving us separate checks. If you are looking for casual Mexican dining, or just want to have a few appetizers and drinks; Bandoleros is a good option that won't break the bank!

I want smoked taste; that is the essence of BBQ. The chicken was also delicious. This is real BBQ. Who am I to declare? Born is San Antonio,Texas. Have eaten Texas BBQ all my life all over the Lone Star State. This, and Carolinas, are the epicenters of BBQ. This place combines both styles. Their BBQ is not hurried or commercialized. You find this style of BBQ a lot on the West Coast of Florida, where small places produce excellent CLASSIC BBQ. The sides were very good. The people are very friendly and competent. This is not a fancy place but just real, honest BBQ that is done well and with love. Now, there is another review on here that is very negative. His rambling, incoherent, urban-effete style carpings do nothing to add to the focus on the food. The smokey flavor on the ribs is just the opposite of what he describes. Regarding Jenkins, I gave it up long ago. There is no love for what they do. I was given BBQ that was refrigerated in aluminum foil-made earlier. The ribs were dry and too lightly smoked. And the surly service, I note the finely tuned masochism urbane sophisticate appreciation or the verbose reviewer's fine appreciation for absorbing insults and animus from a service that he pays for. "It's sort of understood that the workers at a genuine BBQ place will be surly and grouchy (you know the ribs have got to be good if the employees are unpleasant, right? I mean, go check out Tom Jenkins and you'll know what I mean..)" The style of writing comes from an urban sequestered mentality of brouhaha and BS. Give me the smoke, not the dope.
