Went to Little Montreal for a quick bite to eat and a beer before a concert. I've never not left a tip before but I guess there is a first time for everything. When we arrived, the bar was not completely full but started to fill up as most other restaurants in the area were filling up due to the concert downtown. The 2 of us chose our table and it took a while for anyone to take notice. Other tables left because they had not been served or even acknowledged. There were 2 staff members working the deli counter and 4 others working the bar/running around looking very flustered. When we were finally served, we were told there were only 4 menu items available because of the "event". We ordered and it took over 20 minutes for our food to arrive even though all they had to do was scoop the ready made pasta and salad onto a plate. We had 1 person take our drink orders, another take our food order and yet another bring our food. Our plates and drinks were empty for over 10 minutes before we finally decided to go to the bar to get our bill and pay. We stood at the bar along with at least 6 others trying to pay. We waited at the bar for 20 minutes before we got our bill and another 15 before anyone took our money. People who had tables and weren't being served were going to the bar themselves to order drinks, some were served while we were standing there waiting and some were not. People were ordering 6 & 7 drinks at a time for their table and left to get them to their table themselves. I've never seen so much disorganization in a restaurant/bar in my life. Seems if they had been a bit more organized/better managed, with 2 people working the bar and 2 people serving tables things would have probably run a little more smoothly. People may not have walked out and the staff would not have been so flustered, running around like chickens with their heads cut off. read more
