The question says "what could I improve" and I 100% say your rude ignorant staff. I left a review on google but I guess I'll drop one off here too. 1 Star - If I could give this place zero stars, I definitely would. This was our first time staying here. My boyfriend (18) and I (20) were camping with our family and spending some quality time together. We arrived later in the evening, went fishing around sunset, and then took a golf cart ride to the basketball courts with my sister (21) and a few of my nieces and nephews. Our campsite was very close to the courts, so it was only a short drive. As we were pulling into a parking space, a staff member started screaming at us multiple times, claiming we were speeding. We were literally parking the golf cart, so there is no way we were going more than 7 miles per hour, although they have a speed limit of 5. There were people around, and we were being cautious and respectful. The employee continued waving her hands and yelling while we were trying to park. She then approached my boyfriend and aggressively accused him of "speeding". Not just 2 miles over like full blown saying we were at least going 15 + as her words were "WAY too fast"- When he calmly responded, "I don't think I was going that fast," she immediately accused him of having an attitude. She noticed a closed beer container in the front cup holder and began accusing him of drinking. The beer belonged to an adult passenger who was 21, but she refused to listen. She then claimed she could smell alcohol on everyone in the golf cart--including me, even though I'm pregnant. We had only been there for a couple of hours and were not drinking, and also heading home at night so NO WAY. She repeatedly accused us of drinking and driving, speeding, and being reckless. She called my boyfriend an "asshole" and a "smart ass" simply because he disagreed with her accusations. She even threatened to call the police, which didn't concern us because we knew we weren't doing anything wrong. Even called security out there because apparently saying "I don't think I was going that fast" is threatening words and needs security called on for. Then security claimed to smell alcohol on our breaths (even mine till I said I was pregnant and the story changed) - security also stated that he seen us speeding earlier but we had just left and hadn't even been on it for one whole minute (that's how close we were to the basketball court). Then proceeded to tell us he got drunk all the time when he was a teen and he had done way worse.. like okay? You did that not us.. The employee then contacted the person who rented the golf cart and told him that we were drinking and driving. As a result, the golf cart was taken away because it wasn't rented under our names. While I understand that policy, I saw plenty of other people--including kids--driving golf carts throughout the campground without any issues. The entire situation was handled in an extremely unprofessional and disrespectful manner. Instead of approaching us politely and addressing any concerns, this employee immediately jumped to conclusions, made false accusations, and treated us like criminals in front of our family and several children. If I'm not mistaken, her name was Meghan. This experience completely ruined what should have been a fun family camping trip. Based on how we were treated, I would not recommend this place. I would also like to add she harassed several people while we were here. Talked to the manager & She had no authority to do that in the first place and it's not her job. She's overstepping and ignorant, loud and wrong. apparently has an attitude problem and has caused problems before. read more

Pros- All the people camping were very friendly. Some places we've stayed where they allow long term campers has not been that way. Lots to do. Pools, tennis courts, the lake, bike riding. Most sites were shaded. Cafe here has great food. The cheeseburgers are amazing. Cons-Front desk not helpful. You are not assigned a spot. You check in and then just "pick a spot". This results in riding around looking for the one or two open spots. This isn't a small campground so it takes a minute to drive it and find a spot. This could be resolved if they assigned spots like other places. We talked to one couple who had been sitting and waiting almost an hour for a spot to open up. Watched another truck ride around from one side to the next looking. Power went out while we were there due to all campers running air conditioners. Luckily power was on at clubhouse so we waited there. Overall the campground itself is nice but the process of finding a spot and getting settled could be easier. read more

DO NOT stay here. We rented cabin 4 and there were roaches everywhere. You don't see the cabin until you pay and they won't give refund!!

cabins full of pest, rats and ants. staff did nothing but say it wasn't their problem. $100 a night and we had to leave the first morning. Uneven floors that make you trip just walking across the floor. absolutely horrid customer service. never again, run far away. try Honeycomb! read more

This place is all about the MONEY, unless you like just giving it away, DO NOT stay here. I had reservations, but had to cancel them 2 WEEKS OUT, because we had been hit by a drunk drive and he totaled our Camper. They would not issue me a Full Refund, but not have a Cancellation Policy listed on their website, so I am disputing it with my bank. My family reunion is being held here, so I went to visit a family member at the campground and they charged me $2 to go into the Resort for 30 mins and I sat in their RV the whole time. read more

A normal RV enthusiast travels for many reasons most notably the love of meeting new and interesting people. Upon entering the general attitude of the staff is of malaise. What do you want and how much money can I starve from you. It is very possible that the ghost of Ebenezer scrooge from charles dickens placed his spirit into the owner and its staff. This is the future of business as we know it. The customer should somehow how feel privileged to pay the hundreds of dollars to stay there. The owners are currently trying to push the long term loyal members out by making more and more ridiculous rules. Why would they want keep loyal members when they could charge temporary customers twice as much. I would not presume to give you a review about the rest of the place because I would rather go to the next campground down the road and put up a ground tent. read more

RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!! Do not stay here. It is disgusting to say the least. We rented cabin 12. When you walk in the smell of mold and mildew hits you like a cement truck. It's nearly impossible to breathe. Then the roaches. We killed 3 the first day. Then there is the ants. There were more than we could count. Coming through windows, around the sink and on the stove (see picture). Then there is what appears to be rat droppings on the stove (see picture). All this is inside the cabin. I understand when you camping in a tent to expect this, but not a cabin we spend $85/night on. When we called to complain or ask to be moved to another cabin they said sorry NO REFUNDS!!! I have never left a review for a company, EVER. But I had to here for the SAFETY of future kids sleeping here. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! read more

We camped here for the first time this past weekend after several people recommended it to us. A little out of the way but definitely worth it. Beautiful spot with lots of trees. Not a great spot for lake swimming since the hydrila is thick in this part of the lake but they have two new pools - one indoors. We stayed on the end near the office since there were less people. HEavily wooded but nice pads at sites. Bath house is clean and heated. We will go here again. read more

We have camped here on numerous occasions, but recently had a very unpleasant experience and the office staff were very unhelpful, to say the least. The camper next to us was a "long term renter" and had a very bad sewage leak, and from the looks of it, the leak had been going on for some time. The flies and the smell made it impossible to sit outside our camper!! When we approached the office about the issue, we were told - "we're only the office staff, we can't do anything". When we questioned them about if they were even aware of the sewage issue - they said they were not aware- BUT with the extent of sewage on the ground - there is no way the maintenance people who cut the grass could not have known that there was sewage on the ground and leaking from the storage tank!!! We took pictures to the office and they did not care - nor did they offer to refund our rental fee - or even discount it!!! The only good thing about this place was the pool- other than a few bugs - the water was clean and pools in good repair. read more

Hello to all campers please take my advice and do not waste your money on this joke of a campground. My family and i have been camping for the past 8 years traveling all over the state of Alabama and this is by far the worst camping experience I've had. The first day i was here i ask them to fix the sewer pipe so there wasn't raw sewage seeping out but here it is a week later and it still isn't fixed. This is our last night to stay and a kid keeps shining a flashlight into our camper from next door making my dog bark but the security guard gets on to us saying that we need to make our dog be quite. Also the ladies in the front office are so rude they just don't need to be working with the public. If your are coming to camp around the Guntersville area the best place is the Guntersville state park. read more
