UPDATE: Unfortunately, Little Panda has really fallen off for us. We used to enjoy ordering from here, but the quality and service have noticeably declined while the prices have continued to climb. Our most recent order was the breaking point. The rice was hard and crunchy, and, much more concerning, we were served chicken that appeared undercooked. At that point, this went beyond simply being disappointed with the food. We called the restaurant to let them know what happened and give them an opportunity to address it. Instead of listening to the complaint or trying to make things right, the person we spoke with became rude and argumentative, raised their voice, accused us of lying, and ultimately told us not to come back. That was honestly more disappointing than the bad meal itself. Mistakes happen in restaurants, and we understand that. How you respond when a customer respectfully brings a legitimate concern to your attention says a lot. Between the declining food quality, higher prices, and especially the way our concern was handled, we won't be returning. After being explicitly told not to come back, I suppose that decision was made pretty easy for us. read more

Overall portions are small for the lunch special, that is if you are looking for quantity. The place is small and only has a couple of tables. The food came out hot, and the rice was good not over cook. I tried the vegetable Szechwan delight with steam white rice, and the pork eggs rolls. The ingredient soy sauce, mustard sauce, and sweet and sour sauce are outside for your convenience in a small table. Overall not bad for the price and came with a can of soda. read more

The biggest thing little Panda is going for them is the location in relation to where I live and the price. The lunch special is at a very good price, probably the lowest in the area and if you dont do the lunch special you can do the dinner special which comes with 2 entrees from a list, a soup and a app for a very low price in today's market. All in all if your looking for bang for your buck, then I would come here. read more

Have been eating here about 2 years now, and highly recommend. Their Mapo tofu is a favorite, as it uses chicken and tofu instead of the usual pork/beef and tofu, which I like. I've never had a problem with the food or an order, and portions are generous enough that I always have leftovers. read more

Ordered the shiitake & bok choy entree for my daughter who is vegetarian and it arrives with white mushrooms. Not shitakes at all. I call to ask why they don't have shiitake if that was what we ordered from their menu and was told in ten years no one has complained about the mushrooms. They have not always been great in the past, but I wanted to give them another chance. She told me to take my business somewhere else if I like. Definitely will, thanks for the tip.!! The "manager" is on vacation supposedly. Hope the manager gives a care about how the restaurant is ran when the manager is away. Such crap service!! Save your $ read more

We were in the area and just wanted to get some appetizers to go with some left overs we had. I ordered egg rolls, crab rangoon and Won Ton Soup. The Soup was really good, the won tons seemed homemade and filled with actual pieces of pork not just a ball of ground pork. The rangoon was also very good, the filling was very flavorful. The Egg rolls we fine, kind of small and had a different wrapper, they were not my favorite not bad but not as good as others in the area. We will be back to try some actual food next time. read more

Since Green Jade closed, and Silver Lake seems to have changed their recipes, we were looking for a new go to chinese restaurant. Unfortunately, we will have to keep looking. Called to place an order for delivery. They charge a $5 delivery fee !! I put no tip on top of it. The lady has the audacity to call me and ask why no tip. SHE said her driver makes 10 deliveries an hour and needs to get paid. So you mean to tell me you collect $50 an hour in delivery fees and you cant afford to pay your driver the Tip out of the delivery fee ? This is a money hungry establishment who profits at the expense of their delivery drivers. Don't do business here. read more

Stopped in during COVID (Jan 2021) for some takeout. Tables were all put to the side and employees were wearing masks. No indoor dining. Ordered the orange chicken (large), crab rangoons, and pot stickers. The large orange chicken was warm, tangy, and delicious. Love having the orange slice in the package! Also comes with broccoli, so I was sure to get some veggies in. I really appreciated that the chicken was cut up into fairly uniform, perfect bite size pieces, which made it easy to eat with chopsticks. The crab rangoons were decent as well as the potstickers. Great potsticker sauce! That "other" panda place stopped selling potstickers a few years ago, so I'm glad I found this place. Other bonus was the ability to order right from the Yelp app. Love it! I would probably bump this up to 3.5 stars. It took me forever to decide on a Chinese place after we moved. Little Panda ended up being the closest so I think they won by default but they're actually a pretty good takeout place. It's your standard Chinese takeout menu but I have to say they have some really good specials, namely their 2 for $20. It comes with soup, an appetizer, 2 entrees, and a choice of fried rice for just $20 for 2 people. That's an amazing deal. I wouldn't say the food is amazing but for what you're getting it does the job. Although I have to say I really like their wonton soup. I did not care for the egg rolls or the chow mein, which was oddly just noodles. Overall though their ingredients are pretty fresh which goes a long way. read more

The egg foo young was skinny like a McDonald's hamburger and boy oh boy was it greasy. It was so greasy it made all of us sick to our stomachs. After 24 hours we are still trying to recover from the experience. Would not recommend nor would I care to return. read more

At first glance I wasn't think little panda was good at all by the outside appearance but once I walked in it, I was overwhelmed with a sense of pleasantness. The lady greeted as soon as I walked in. Everyone, My own imposed rules for any review: 1. Must visit at least three times. Two of which must be distinctly different formats; i.e. one weekday night and one weekend night. 2. Must order something unique each visit. 3. If they have any "signature" items on the menu, you must order a "signature" item at least once. 4. Ratings are based on a 10 point scale with 5 being average, which does not mean bad. What a score of 5 means is that the category meets expectations for that establishments format. Thanks. Little Panda Location/Layout - 6/10: Little Panda is located, in a small strip mall just south of Route 20 on Randall Rd. on the west side of Elgin. The restaurant and its exterior are unmistakable with its giant panda window screens that are very unique. The interior has a very modern and clean feel with limited but useful seating for dining in. The menu and order counter and very accessible and are broadcast on LCD monitors to allow patrons to view various options. Parking can be an issue since this small strip mall has very limited spaces and is shared by several other stores, some of which can be very busy depending on the time of day. Compounding the issue is the fact that there are not any additional lots that are for use by this strip because the only lot that is near is a private lot for an adjacent business. Menu - 7/10: The menu is expansive and has all the standard Chinese and Cantonese cuisine that people have come to expect. They also offer a very good lunch and dinner special menu along with the standard al a carte choices. But the most unique menu offering is their $20 dinner for 2, where you get two starters, soup, and two full entrees for one amazing price. Service - 6.5/10: Service at Little Panda is friendly, extremely efficient and helpful. Carry out orders are cooked expeditiously as are dine in orders and are served piping hot. Even though dine in is more quick service than a full restaurant experience, meaning you get your own drinks at the fountain, silverware, and condiments, the food is served to you tableside on real plates and cleared after you are finished. Food - 6.5/10: The food is tasty and the quality is above average for a quick service Chinese restaurant. I really enjoy their Cashew (chicken or beef) options and their Mongolian choices. Additionally, there veggie spring rolls are very delicious. The sauces are seasoned well but not overly salty. The lone issue I have with the food is that the baby corn has an odd flavor and does not match the quality and freshness of most menu items. Drinks - 4/10: The drink options include a self serve fountain along with bubble tea. The fountain sizes only come in two sizes and are smaller than most other restaurants. A small is essentially a standard Styrofoam coffee cup and a large is a medium or 20 oz Styrofoam cup. Overall Experience - 7/10: Little Panda is unique in that it is neither a carry out only or true dine in Chinese food experience. Being a quick service restaurant works to their advantage because they are able to differentiate themselves in a fairly crowded market. Minus one star. I have brought business to this place and I have got to say this place is so inconsistent. Sometimes my meal will taste delicious and sometimes when I order it'll look super greasy and fatty. Do not count on this place having your order ready on time. No matter if you're ordering one thing or multiple dishes it just will not be ready. If they tell you it will take 20-30 minutes make sure you double that time. I love the specials and coupons for this place, but I just want you all to know that they are very inconsistent. Ordering online should make it easier and a breeze than over the phone, but make sure you call them and confirm your order. I don't really have any favorites here because I've only tried their korean bbq, orange chicken, brocolli chicken, stir fried stuff and they pretty much all the taste the same. read more
