Great Pollish sausage and other ethnic foods. New owner is much friendly than old owner - he definitely needed to retire!!!

Was taking care of an issue for my truck in Walnut Creek I saw the sign and went in. My family on my mother's side have Eastern European origins. They have a great selection of many different types of food I had been accustomed to having at my grandparents and even the stores from Chicago where they were more common. Some.rare hard to find items from caviar, sausages. Canned goods from Germany Belarus Sweden Poland and others. I was looking for the Herring and smoked mackerel and he had them in stock. Also frozen meals and Borscht soup which I can not cook. Jacob the owner was there and he was very nice and friendly and informative. There is a German deli and small store closer to where I live in the valley but their selection was much better and diverse. I bought many items as a sampler but good thing I will be in the area more I found a go to market now. It was like a flashback to childhood for me. Always a pleasure to find a location that has food from the motherland :) They have an assortment of Polish items from chocolates, bread, cheese, meats, and much more. The prices are fair and the service is good. I have been told the key is to show up around the holiday time when they have more "traditional" in items - with that said when they have those items they sell out very quickly. I do wish they had some more fresh products like Polish "salads" and dishes, but I understand the logistical issues that come with that. read more

10 10 24 This store looks modest on the outside but is a mighty giant on the inside. What a a wonderful selection of food items. The selection reminds me of my best time living and eating off Army base in Germany in the 70s. The highest quality at Little Poland. Jacob (the owner) is very friendly and not shy about giving out a sample but... DONT TAKE IT! If you taste it you are sure to be a happy life long customer. We now happily drive 40 miles round trip to shop at little Poland and we can't wait to get home to snack on it. My only wish is that there was a way for the wonderful imported beer selection to be kept refrigerated and in the dark. read more

Went here the other day with my daughter because I love checking out grocery stores from other countries. Being a chef, i enjoy trying out new foods and recipes. I just visited Little Poland over this weekend. I was searching for some kielbasa and smoked pork. This small market has lots of polish items. I bought quite a bit of the double smoked kielbasa...the smell was wonderful. I also stocked up on the Kosciusko mustard. So happy to find this store in the East Bay...no more trips to San Francisco for kielbasa. read more

Love this store! The guy who works there is super nice. I called before coming and asked if they had German snacks. I stopped by, and the store is easy to find, with ample parking in the lot. Walking in, the shelves are very organized and you can get just about anything here! It's such a cute little Polish grocery store. This place is so cool! I love seeing all the European foods and snacks they offer. Everything is super reasonably priced. The pierogis that I got for my mom were $8.50, and they had an excellent selection of different flavor. The man who owns the store was working the register and he was so friendly and I'm sure would have explained any products if we had asked any questions. There is ample parking at this location, the Turkish delight has been my favorite thing I bought there so far. I can't wait to see this place flourish and if you're in the East bay you should definitely check this place out and support local grocery stores!!! read more

Visited Little Poland today with my husband and kids and had a blast. We bought a wide variety of delicious imports, including beer, sausages, pâté, poppyseed roll, tea, coffee, chocolates, pickles, noodles, and more. Jacob was super helpful and patient with all our questions. As soon as we got home we feasted on several items and everything was fantastic! My kids noted how well all these foods go together. I highly recommend this unique and authentic grocery and look forward to trying more things soon. read more

It will closed on Mondays that's inconvenient. I usually purchase my Vegeta seasoning 70 ounce bag from them. I moved out of the area. I came back to visit and they were closed on Monday. I was disappointed products and wonderful. read more

HIDDEN GEM. If you're looking for authentic, slap you back to your childhood snacks, meats, candies, drinks I can go on and on this is THE SPOT ! Service is great even though sometimes people think the owner comes off as a hard dupa lol it's maybe a Polish thing bc he's really a good dude. ((Appreciate the water and snack for my pup during a hot day!)) When you walk in you're overwhelmed with its happiness because there's so much to choose from, don't forget to go all the way to the back of the store where there's a nice selection of beers, nalewki & juices. This is the Aladdin's Cave You've Dreamed About-- in Concord! It's hard to find such a magical array of foods and beverages from Poland and Eastern Europe. Sausages, preserved meats, pickles, lunchmeats, beers, wines, delicious mysteries in packages, bottles and cans labeled in their native languages, oh my! The proprietor himself is a treasure, knowledgeable about the food and the traditions of his native land. The prices are better than reasonable. The store has the look and feel you might expect of its equivalent on the opposite side of the world, though it isn't redolent with the aromas I've found in some wonderful Greek stores I've visited. One word of caution, though, about the proprietor. He is very knowledgeable about many things, and has VERY strong opinions. I've always enjoyed that sort of person, but this gentleman can become pretty emotional if someone questions his certainties. If you want to have fun here, I recommend keeping conversations centered on food. read more

Not sure how I didn't know this place existed, but was craving some pierogi and googled. Found Little Poland and had to check it out. They have so many items I need to try, but in settled for pirosky and pierogi for now, along with some lovely cheese. The owner was super friendly and even through in a piece of sesame candy in my bag. If you are looking for eastern European food items, be sure to stop in. read more

Wow, what an incredible little store! My husband and I were on the hunt for a specific kind of German hot mustard and my family recommended this place. We came from Sacramento (we REALLY needed this mustard) and will definitely be coming back. Other than the mustards, we scored some delicious marzipan, pickles we had in Europe that we weren't able to find anywhere else (nor did we expect to find it), some really fun alcohols, and the most wonderful surprise : Austrian style wieners!! My husband and I have been looking for something comparable to the sacherwurstl we enjoyed in Vienna and they had an American brand that used an Austrian recipe and it tasted just like we remembered! To top it off, the guy running shop was a delight. You can tell he enjoyed people leaving with their arms full of awesome European goodies. We'll definitely be back when we tear through all of our haul. And if the owner is reading this- it would be amazing if you carried leberkäse/Fleischkäse some time- just a request :) Regardless, we'll be back soon! read more

Nothing less than 5 star. The owner Jacob is my new best friend. As I am getting older I seem to think back to my youth. I always looked forward to go to my grandparents and eat her Nalesniki and kielbasa. I resently stopped by and got all of the ingredients to make. I must say I think I nailed the recipe. Little Poland has a great selection, good prices, and friendly service. I got lots of goodies on my last trip there.

This spot has a great selection of imported foods from Poland, Germany, and Russia. I enjoyed the variety and diversity in the food selection. Lots of refrigerated, frozen, canned, jarred goods. There's also a huge section of sauce mixes and dishes in the front. I picked up some pate, pierogies, and sauerkraut. Jacob was super helpful and directed me toward items that I was interested in. Also great to have someone who knows the culture and products helping you. I'll definitely be back for the selections, the low prices, and the helpful staff. read more

I grew up in cleveland where there is a large polish population - including my family of immigrants. We had our regular polish deli and treats growing up - I am happy to have found a similarly great spot in the east bay. The gentleman I talked to was helpful and nice. I crave anything ethnic in a sea of everything homogenized and neutralized. This is a Polish market, mainly, I was able to get a kielbasa stick...yes! But they have German and other European goods, too, and I found a number of things I wanted. The outside looks like hell in a distressed little mini-mall, but once you step inside you'll forget all of that. It's very pleasant. Jakob, the owner, is so nice and helpful. We have been going here for years, and we love it! There is a wonderful selection of European foods, many from Poland, and we have always enjoyed the wonderful quality of what they carry. There are also Polish style foods that are made in the US, such as items from the famous Andy's Deli in Chicago. The sauerkraut from Poland is absolutely delicious, as are the pickles, jams, sausages, pirogi, wild mushrooms, hams, liver pates, polish spice mixes, real honey from Europe, which is actually pure and wonderful beyond words, and so much more. Everything we ever got here was of very high quality. And so delicious! The owner is not only friendly, he knows EVERYTHING about every product he sells, and is so helpful and kind. We feel welcome every time we enter. This is the way a store should be, and so rarely is these days. We are blessed to be able to shop at and enjoy this wonderful store and the great products it sells. read more

Soo excited to have found this cute little European market! On my way to Costco to go see what I could find for my oktoberfest party and I happened to spot little Poland market and I beelined for it haha. Such a gem! So many polish and German products. I found all the things I wanted, authentic cheeses, spreads, gherkins, even apricot jams and variety of other things. I'm definitely coming here for those specialty items. Even just to try new things. I really love selections of beers and alcohol and jams. They have a ton of meat as well for those that eat meat. Only thing I havent been able to find locally is quark. But ill keep looking around. Customer service was great too. The gentleman at the counter offered to let me sample the cheeses which were so good, and he was very cleanly using a glove. Also very friendly and had some great suggestions. All in all Ioved everything and it really helped make my party more authentic with the items I found.
