The food was quick, and it tasted quite good. The only downside I have to mention is that the noodles could be longer, but apart from that, the broth was excellent.

Never disappoints. Chicken Pad Thai was exceptional and the stir fried noodles my husband ordered hit the spot!

My friend and I had an awesome time trying out Little Saigon. We came in a little hungover and the pho combats alcohol well. The service was really good and so was the food. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some comfort asian food.

    17. Pad Thai, 21. Sliced Beef with Egg Noodle Soup

The best Pad Thai in Lawrence. Best Pho I've ever had in my entire life, but wanted to try something different this particular visit. We also got the Sliced Beef Egg Drop Soup alongside Crab Rangoon and Fried Gyoza. The service is impeccable and being able to watch the magic happen because of the kitchen is really special. The ambience of Little Saigon is nothing but comforting and welcoming.

This is a hidden gem in Lawrence that you must try if you love Vietnamese food. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall but the flavor does not fall short. The vibe is cozy and quaint with the staff being extra welcoming as well. Overall the restaurant seats about 30 people so be prepared to wait for Sesti in if you go during busy hours. The food is amazing! Very authentic and flavorful. The menu is also huge with a wide variety of vegetarian options. I highly recommend the chicken pho, pad Thai and crab rangoons. The portion sizes are also huge so you can share between two people or save leftovers for later. I will definitely be returning to LSC!

    11. Chicken Pho

Amazing pho! Great service and nice atmosphere! Unlike a lulus, this place has character and the menu is diverse. You really can't beat the price either!

We got Vietnamese iced coffees, crab rangoons, spring rolls, and pho. The pho I had was rich in flavor for the broth. You can tell it was boiled for awhile. The noodles were cooked perfectly! Not soggy at all and had a good bite to them. The veggies were nice and crisp too! Crab rangoons, I have no ill words for them. Just a standard rangoon that was well made. Not oily at all. Their peanut sauce that went with the spring rolls was thicker than the places that I am used to. I must say I actually prefer this locations peanut sauce over the ones I have had in my home state. 10/10! Will come again.

The staff was doing the best they could to keep up with the crowd, and everyone was friendly and courteous. The food was good overall. The pho had a good, flavorful broth, and the hủ tiếu mì khô was also well-seasoned with good flavor. They accidentally forgot our sweet potato dish, but with how busy they were, we decided not to wait any longer. The cà phê sữa đá was excellent--the balance of strong coffee and sweet condensed milk was just right. The bánh mì was decent as well. The bread was perfectly toasted and had a nice crust, though I do wish it had a little more meat. Overall, it was a good lunch experience. I think I'd come back after the crowds settle down a bit so we can try more of the menu at a more relaxed pace.

The restaurant was very nice--tastefully decorated with authentic touches that felt intentional and refined. The large canvas artwork added character without overwhelming the space. It struck a perfect balance: elegant but comfortable. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were patient and accommodating, especially with our little one, which always makes a difference when dining out with family. We started with the sampler platter, which included fresh spring rolls, crispy spring rolls, and a variety of other traditional bites. Everything was prepared well--the fresh rolls were vibrant and clean tasting, while the crispy rolls had a satisfying crunch without being greasy. For entrées, my wife ordered the Vietnamese pork chop with the perfectly runny egg over broken rice. The pork was well-seasoned and cooked just right, and that egg brought everything together beautifully. I ordered the Bánh Mì and a bowl of pho. The pho had the perfect level of spice--balanced, aromatic, and comforting. The broth had depth, and you could tell it was crafted with care. The Bánh Mì was equally impressive; the baguette was toasted just right--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside--holding all the flavors together without overpowering them. What truly stands out is that Broken Rice delivers this level of quality without being overly expensive. It's a great value for authentic, well-executed Vietnamese cuisine. And most importantly--our niece enjoyed herself too, which says a lot. I would absolutely recommend Broken Rice to anyone looking for a satisfying, authentic dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere

As there is no reservations taken, we waited about 30 min for a table. Drinks were ordered & arrived quickly. Appetizers were fresh & tasty (got eaten before pics). The bar had run out of olive brine for dirty martinis, but they compensated (?) with more vodka, so... the hubs was happy. I ordered the poutine app for my main dish, but was brought something else. Pasta with sausage, peppers & onions, which was delicious, though a bit mysterious in the low lighting. The prices were fair, the food quality was top shelf, and the portions are enormous. All four in our party were first-time patrons, and all had an exceptionally positive experience. We were recommended to try the lasagna but it was sold out by the time we ordered, sigh! We'll be back! This newer spot has so much of the bygone friendly Lawrence feel, and I just loved it! This may be my new favorite restaurant in town.

We were lucky enough to get the last open table - unfortunately it was near the front door which created a lot of cold air upon us. It also meant that the poor souls that came in after us were standing around watching us eat while waiting for a hostess and a table to open up. slightly annoying, but it kept us on our best table manners. lol. We did have a bit of a wait between the waiter giving us a run down of the menu and availability of items and his return to take our order, but no fault of his since everyone we saw was hustling and multitasking to take care of an overflow crowd. The food came out fairly quickly upon ordering. I ordered a side salad and the lasagna, my wife ordered the Jalapeño Cornbread Crab Cakes. My side salad was generous in its assortment of greens and veggies with cheese and croutons, but was lacking in dressing. I would have asked for an additional side cup, but the waiter was already overloaded. My wifes crab cakes with remoulade were very tasty from the samples that I had. yet the star of the meal / week was the the best damn Lasagna that I've ever had! Stacked tall with about 40 layers (give or take 30) of heavily seasoned meat, pasta, red sauce, alfredo sauce and cheese and topped with two perfect bread sticks. Wow! Thankfully the weather was cool, so I had no problem taking part of it home for a second meal later. I'd love to return and sample some of the Udon noodle dishes, sticky ribs or even the cheeseburger. They all looked wonderful from a distance. A great job from the back of house and front of house during a Saturday night slam.

We did enjoy the shrimp, spring rolls, but were slightly disappointed that the peanut sauce was very watery. The menu had a good variety, but most of the dishes involved pork, very few involved chicken. Tofu dishes were also an option. The chicken pad Thai was very tasty; rather than cooking the dish to a persons heat specification, they just provide extra chili powder on the plate if you wanted to make it spicier. The main reason for the low review would be the cleanliness of the restaurant. On the table were a variety of spices and sauces in various containers, but they didn't look like they had been cleaned or changed in several uses, so we did not use or investigate to know exactly what things were.
