Yum yum! Low atmosphere and high in taste- highly recommend for quality Vietnamese. I had the summer rolls- they are freshly made and you can customize shrimp/pork/veggie- just tell them. Pad Thai was excellent, as were Korean grilled pork on rice with fried egg and grilled chicken prepared similarly. They came with sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumber and pickled grated carrots. The soup that accompanied these dinners was probably a pho broth, and it also was great. We also liked the grated carrots in the Pad Thai: unusual and very nice! Also the fresh spring rolls were very fresh and tasty. We loved the way the owners seemed to know the regulars, and they even remembered us from the night before. We had gotten there at 8, too late. I've gone here a few times and every time the food has been pretty good. I have yet to find anything that is spectacular but everything I've tried so far is not shabby at all. I have been to many Vietnamese Pho restaurants and this is the first to see 2 men in a cafe style sitting. I really like the setup. PHO was delicious and great tasting. We also got the spring rolls. All was very good. It was the best Pho so far in the KC metro area. Will visit again when we come back to visit family in the area. read more

Love this place. It seems like I'm here all the time. I eat the bun which is delicious. My husband says they have the best pho in town. Ive tried the beef stew as well and it's fantastic to warm you up and just make you feel happy. The girl and her dad who work there are wonderful and friendly. OMG - this restaurant is leaps and bounds better than any other Vietnamese restaurant in Lawrence. The food is incredible - especially the pho and crab rangoons. Even the Vietnamese egg rolls are spot on. The staff that work there are always so nice and sweet and will bend over backward to satisfy their customers. The only drawback? The place is tiny. Good Pho, but Uneventful spring rolls - mostly made of rice noodles, very light on the veg. Weird hours.

We try not to come here too often, otherwise we'd be going here all the time! Despite the size and the fact that the owners are also the only cooks, we can always find a seat and get our food quickly. Love sitting at the bar and chatting with the owners when they find a few seconds inbetween orders; very kind people that always make us feel welcome. I had high hopes for this place. Took them 25 mins to bring my coffee to table and then it was cold. Most servers ask the women first for orders not here. Once food did get brought to table there was no silverware took another 10min to get that. The food was ok but nothing I would want to tell a friend about. I think this place has great food, especially for the price! I thought the beef pho was great, even pretty spicy! I also ordered the shrimp and sweet potatoes having no idea what it would be..... Turns out its tempora sweet potato fries with shrimp. Awesome and weird! The services is minimal. The atmosphere is minimal (after all it is an old baskin robbins). The tables are minimal. I never really give 5 stars unless I'm blown out of the water. Still, I must admit this is the best Pho shop in town! The food is fantastic and the open kitchen is great. Wish there was more room. Let's hope business is so good, they have to get a bigger venue. I would say this is most definitely on par with their California counter parts. The Vietnamese restaurant is the best one in town. The service is good, and the food is decent. I've had much better Vietnamese food in other locations such as Chicago, Wichita, DC, Las Vegas, etc, but considering that it is located in Lawrence, it is as good as it gets. I bought lunch here last week for myself and a staff member and we were both thrilled at how much we received for such a small price. We both enjoyed our Pho, though we are not experienced Pho eaters and both loved the spring roll with peanut sauce. We both plan on getting food here again, as it was quick and inexpensive. I got our food to go so did not eat in the restaurant, but the gentlemen working the counter/kitchen knew the other customer who was there and were very helpful in picking my order. read more
