I've been to NYC numerous times over the years, and always make sure I hit up an authentic NY bagel joint. Not kidding, New Garden Bagel could easily be one of those spots. They make the perfect NY style bagel, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, absolutely delicious all over. We had a jalapeño cheddar, everything and sesame bagel. All 3 were the perfect NY style I've grown to love. We asked for the sesame with the jalapeño spread which was super tasty. We also got a tub of the bacon scallion spread, thinking we'd take some home. It was so good we gobbled it up with the 2 other bagels right there in one sitting. Small and cozy inside with super friendly staff. They have sandwiches, breakfast, lunch, coffees galore, both sweet and savory spreads, and most importantly...Dr. Brown's sodas. Can't find that at many places around here. If we want a true NY style bagel, this is our go to spot from here on out. Go and try them out if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed!

They have the best iced coffee and their bagels are always fresh. If you like a lot of cream cheese on the bagel this spot is for you, I order cream cheese on the side though. I recommend ordering online early in the morning because there's usually a line but they don't take long if you order inside.

This shop is near our hotel and we wanted to give it a try based on the positive reviews. We used their online ordering system. It's pretty detailed including how you want your bagel toasted. Once we arrived our order was ready and we walked past the huge crowd. My onion bagel with veggie cream cheese was so delicious. It was packed with fresh veggies and enough cream cheese for me to enjoy. The onions flavored the bagel so well that I had a burst of onions and vegetables for breakfast. Hello Bagel, this is not the last time we will see you!

It was a little over ten dollars, which is a little pricey for me personally, but I hoped it would be worth it. It was not. My bagel came out quickly, but as soon as I opened it, I was a little sad. I was disappointed to see that there was basically no cream cheese on the bagel or lox, and most of the space was taken up by the toppings. It tasted okay, but it was nothing impressive. There is seating inside and outside too, and the inside was very clean and the line was quick. If you don't like a lot of cream cheese on your bagel, this place is for you.

Years ago, on Saturday mornings, before I went to teach my College Psychology class, I would stop at a bakery and had a bagel with cream cheese. They were so good. Today, after hearing so much about this place, I decided to go and try their Bagels out. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Donnie D's Bagels & Deli in Daleville, Virginia, is the perfect example. When I arrived I was aware that their Roanoke, Virginia location had been through a fire and was in the process of renovation. When they first opened I was one of the first ones there trying out their bagels and watching them make them. I invite you to go read my review and see my photographs accompanying it. Their bagels were so good that I missed them and that is why I came to this location to see if they also made them here. I was under the impression that they also made their own bagels here. But it seems that their bagel operation was done in their Roanoke location and they were sent here. Because one of the things they had here was a sign that said that while they were renovating their other location in Roanoke, they were having their bagels shipped from a bakery in New Jersey. What they were making here were their biscuits. When I arrived, I was very impressed with this small but cozy, little deli and bagel shop. The fist thing you see is a display case with lots of bagels of all kinds. The bagels looked big and plumpy. I walked over to the ordering counter and a friendly young lady greeted me and when I asked her about the bagels, told me the story I just wrote about above. Since I was here already I ordered a Plain Bagel with Cream Cheese and a bottle of Starbucks Cold Caffè Mocha. The bagel was good but not as good as Donnie D's, which I still remember when I had one at their Roanoke location. It was warm, crispy on the outside and nice and soft in the inside. I also had an opportunity of seeing the trays of their biscuits made on the premises and they also looked good. I definitely recommend this place to stop for breakfast or lunch. They have quality products, a warm and cozy ambiance, an excellent customer service.

This was fine for my needs, and indeed I like places with a narrow focus, but it might come as a surprise to some. The space was minimal. I was a bit surprised to see bagels packed in threes; I was expecting to be able to pick them out by flavor one at a time. I was also a bit surprised that the cinnamon rolls their website promised didn't seem to be there, though a few other intriguing baked goods were on sale. Ultimately, I took some mouthwatering rosemary and sundried tomato bagels along with some plain ones for comparison, as well as a chocolate babka cake. The bagels had that bit of sourness that makes them worthwhile, and a nice bit of browning. The babka cake, which I worried would not have enough chocolate, delivered satisfaction on a per-bite basis. What I wanted out of my baked goods is pretty much what i got.
