Little hidden local gem! Small seating area. Everyone talks to you as if they are friends and join into conversation. It's actually very nice! They have a sushi bar I think most people take out. The sushi was really fresh tasting we had the spicy salmon and tuna. Shumai was great steamed. We also had the poke bowl , everything was so pretty and great!

Great place for a quick bite. We had 3 of the special rolls and they were incredible. Mango spicy tuna was exceptional.

We always come away with the same experience every time we try Yellowfin - the food is fantastic,…read moreno question about it. Despite another review, I actually think the food is NYC-quality. They have a solid range of unique menu items, tons of flavor, well-cooked and good portion size. Genuinely no complaints on the food quality, but unfortunately that's where it ends. The food is just beyond overpriced. I understand LBI is pricey, and this place is BYOB so they have to make money somehow, but the paella special (w/ a half lobster) was "idk $70-75 I think" according to the waiter. If you can't justify $50+ on a seafood dish, the MP is your flag that is going to be well over $50 (i.e $52 halibut??). As an NYC resident who enjoys fine dining, I can genuinely say I've never seen ANY fish dish get near $50. More importantly, the waiter got super pushy with us challenging us twice when we decided to grab a bunch of appetizers and a few mains, rather than a main for each of us. After this, he was basically none existent the rest of the meal, which was still over $300 for 4. We had to flag down others to get things like new silverware between courses or dessert. Overall, food is great, so if you want a good meal don't care about mediocre service at best and overpaying, then give it a shot.

Most rolls we found to be too loose when taking chopsticks to them, as some pieces fell apart. My wife said this did not hinder her opinion of our meal but it bothered me. I could go over each roll but I'll save the time. Bottom line: when you're craving sushi near LBI, this is a decent option. It checks the boxes, reasonably priced/creative(special rolls) menu and flavor was there. Just don't go into it, looking to be blown away. Save that for your beach umbrella.

I had to order a coffee to warm up. it was bitter as hell and not even that hot . our food arrived quickly. it was ok at best.. barely warm, and our sever then disappeared with her coat on. again, not a word, we were abandoned, no drink refills , no napkins .. no word. we finished and waited for the check. the place was dead ass silent, dark and frigid. we never saw our server again. we had to pack up our ice cold leftovers and find a strange man in the kitchen for our check. weird ass place..weird service.. the man never even mumbled a thank you.. he told the next couple who came in., they were closed .. at 230 pm? weird..

They have indoor and outdoor seating, they are no longer a BYOB but they have a bar with great drinks! As you walk in you're in the market, but you just walk past that to get to the dining room. They have blackboard specials with all the fresh fish that was caught, plus you can see all the fish in the cases and the lobsters in the tanks. Service was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. I really liked the New England clam chowder. It was loaded with clams and nice and creamy with a great flavor. We also had the garlic clams which were loaded in garlic butter... Again delicious! Clams casino, muscles, peel and eat shrimp, steam clams all great as well. Some fish on the menu I never heard of but were very tasty... Tile fish? Salmon was good, And I had the broiled seafood platter just to get a taste of everything. They have their original crab cake which has the seasoned bread crumbs in it which was good, but I definitely liked the jumbo lump crab cake better! Save room for desserts because the banana churro was amazing as we're all of the pies the table ordered. Definitely a must try! And definitely approved!

At lunch, my softshell crab sandwich was good. Kudos to them for having softshells during the very brief season. For the price, I wish there had been two crabs though. The one in my sandwich was very small and noticeably tough. Very tasty, though, on its toasted brioche bun. I removed one of the two fat tomato slices because i wanted to be able to taste the delicate crab, and ate the extra slice along with some of the excess lettuce as a salad. The side of cole slaw was delicious. My sister had the original crab cake sandwich which she loved, and my husband ordered a sautéed mahi sandwich with fries and a beer. He was very happy, and said that it was probably the best mahi he'd ever had. We arrived at about 2p.m. without a reservation to find the dining room packed, so we're happy to sit at a shared outdoor wooden picnic table next to the bar truck. It's that popular! Nothing fancy about this place except the prices and good quality seafood.
