Drinks - wine serving is small so beware before you order, but all cocktails were made quickly and beautifully! Service - we had a lovely waitress who was super sweet and patient with our more complicated orders. Cannot say enough good things. Terrible dining experience. 45 minutes for 1 app called a potato box which was almost cold...not to mention it was a tiny hash brown. This is a great example of something they would have sold for $9 five years ago....now it's $18...and I think a Mcdonlads hash brown might be bigger. As for entrees....they served the wrong salad with what was supposed to be "grilled garlic shrimp". Those shrimp were again...lukewarm warm....and certainly had never seen a grill. All the food we happened to get had clearly been sitting out waiting for a sever for 5-10 minutes. 1.5 hours later we left. Never got a proper entree...and I got a slice of pizza in the way home. The things we liked- reservation ran in town. There are three different vibes for dining. All were trendy. Roof top, casual and has a bar and table service. Indoor dining room is more cozy with dim lighting and a nice big bar that looked inviting if you want to enjoy cocktails. Then they have an outdoor garden area that was really cute, that also had a bar and outdoor tables. We ate at the rooftop- they had fun music playing and the service was very good. What was it lacking- the boneless wings were VERY garlicky- maybe that was a mistake but we couldn't keep eating them. The burrata and tomato salad could have been good but there was thin, milky coating on the tomatoes.... It was not appetizing and we are jersey tomato season ~ no need for dressing. The grilled cheese was served on very thin bread and it was very greasy. Cocktails were a thumbs down- the lychee drink- just tasted watered down and the banana bourbon drink tasted like a fall cocktail - had cinnamon undertones. read more

We came here with our friends who really love this spot and raved about the sushi, which I was surprised they enjoyed- as I found the rice to be overcooked and rolls to be below average. Nothing was terrible or unpalatable but most dishes were just ok.. the tuna tacos were probably my favorite , along with the truffle fries, and my daughter liked her salmon, but my flounder felt heavy, and the burrata appetizer should have been called tomatoes with burrata because the whole plate was overwhelmed by giant wedges of tomatoes with just a small hard to share burrata on top. Nobody liked the two tomato soups we ordered but they were kind enough to notice the bowls were full and took that off the bill. The server was excellent, and manager came around to make sure everyone was pleased. I'd give it less stars if it weren't for the staff who deserve praise for attentiveness. We used to be regulars at Daddy O but the kitchen stopped turning out good food a couple of years ago and we moved on. We thought that we would give it another chance today because the bar staff has always been delightful and we really want to like it. Nope! Short rib cheesesteak was served with au jus which was actually more like a bland meat grease. Ketchup was reliably good though. It added some necessary flavor. Sticky peach BBQ chicken was uninspired and an unusually small portion to boot and served with mushy greens but pretty good cornbread. Servers were friendly and attentive. My husband and I tried Daddy O's for the 1st time tonight..I am an extremely picky eater and I have to say,I was impressed..loved the appetizer crispy potato box(loved). This, for sure, has to be the single best meal we have ever had on Long Beach Island. When we arrived, we were seated promptly and were given a large table to accommodate our party of seven. Ben came straight over and introduced himself and told us some of the specials and allowed some time to peruse the menu. We knew that we had to get the children their food first for us to enjoy our meals and we ordered pasta and flounder for the girls and a cheeseburger and fries for the little boy. It's hard to imagine that a restaurant can be very classy while being at the beach and a very casual atmosphere but people were mixed in their dress with those of us who were more casual, but somewhat dressy and others who got dressed to the nines to enjoy their meal out with friends or family. We decided on the advice of Ben to get some duck confit and also some tang tang shrimp and also Nice chopped salad which was fresh and crisp and also some tacos and then we were off to the races with our entrées. We all decided to choose something different and give a little bite to each of the members of our adult party. While I had seared sea scallops my buddy had salmon. My wife chose a salad with some grilled shrimp And my buddies wife decided to have a plate of muscles that she enjoyed immensely. The staff was fantastic in that they took away dirty plates and replaced them with new ones and made sure that the kids had everything that they needed for us to enjoy a quiet and adult conversational meal. Compared to Long Island, NY the prices were really very fair and the quality of the food was very very good. My scallops were excellent and the other plates that I tried all were cooked perfectly. I want to give a special shout out to Ben, our server, for being very friendly and his demeanor while explaining the menu and offering suggestions. I am normally a little wary of a 'hotel restaurant', but Daddy O is far from that. From the second you walk in, you see something a little different. The menu has a bit of a fusion flair and we started with the fried cheese curds (how can you add MORE calories to cheese, you ask?). It was DELICIOUS. I got the blueberry lemonade made with vodka and at $14 per glass, it was a little expensive, but wasn't too strong and was delicious. My entree was the adult grilled cheese - with fig jam and a little bit of salad. It was perfect as I wasn't super hungry and adding bacon made it feel and taste a bit more grown up. Overall, I felt that Daddy O delivered what we needed, but was a little overpriced for what we received. Still, it's a beach town so I do understand. After several years of going to LBI we must've passed this place every single time and paid no mind to it. We happened to be arriving later one off peak evening so we stopped in. So happy we did. The place is huge and the quality of food is probably better than most spots on the island. Very nice ambiance as well. They have a kids menu (which wasn't available on the website). Their drinks are on the stronger side. Seasonal cocktails are their specialties! I had the BUTTERMILK FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH - pickle brined, kimchi mayo, shaved romaine, house pickles, brioche roll. It was a bit over dressed with the mayo and messy but delicious nonetheless. Wife had - VERLASSO SALMON -creamer potatoes, watercress & citrus salad, pesto, port reduction which she thoroughly enjoyed. Their prices are on the higher end. Service was great and friendly. Service is so - so, as is with most beach town eateries. Spotty and inconsistent summer help results in mixed up or delayed food orders. Food is fairly good, though menu is woefully small, short and a bit tired - hardly ever gets an update. ​ Drinks are generally good, the usually suspects plying their trade behind the bar are knowledgeable. ...sometimes a bit too chatty with guests, not watching/looking who is waiting to be served. Recognizing that Daddy O might have been pulling out all the stops for NYE...I was very impressed with this place. The last time I came here, I was a kid and the place was an Irish pub called Wida's. Daddy O might be the best meal on LBI. We enjoyed Spanish octopus, an Asian fusion salad, and a special of lobster tail stuffed with lump crab meat (wow). The solid menu is well complimented by an extensive drink list including house cocktails, wine (truly a global wine list, so refreshing for an LBI restaurant), and beer. Service is elevated for South Jersey. Not the briskest pace, but everyone is very warm and welcoming. Overall this place is sneakily good and delivers. I'd much prefer this to some of the other restaurants on the island, many of which are overpriced and mediocre. read more

We waited before our waiter came over and the manger gave us free 2 free apps. But, those didn't even come out for another 35 minutes while our apps we ordered came out before even though we ordered them after we were given free ones. For my entree i ordered a burger cooked medium well and they cooked it a bit raw but even our entrees took an extra 45 min to come out! burger was one of the worst burgers i have ever had in my life and the fries were the only good thing. Calamari tasted like it was frozen. It was bland and tough. The Aioli was good. The sushi roll is ok, expensive but not special . The scallops were the Star, perfectly cooked with a delicious corn sauce of some sort. The cous cous didn't make any sense with it. The bell pepper really overpowered and the fava beans made it bitter. A garlic or more mild cous cous would've been a much better pairing. It's a bummer because the scallops are the best we've had on the island. The ahi tuna entree was ice cold in the middle. Yes it was ordered rare but it really should be room temp. Came here last night and asked for a seat at the bar. I love the roof top patio here. We weren't sure if we were just having a drink or getting something to eat. Lunch time at the Jersey shore and a cloudy day with occasional showers so out to lunch and spotted this place driving down the Blvd. This restaurant is attached to a hotel and upon arrival at 12:00 the place was empty so we were seated promptly. Looking for a Light meal and kicked it off with calamari, golden crisp, not greasy or chewy with a couple sauces. Next up was a ribeye cheesesteak sandwich that really had thinly sliced steak, provolone and crispy onion. The the sandwich was so big I could only eat half and ignored the fries that were also crispy and very tasty, not oily. Had a couple more meals, a Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich and a Pecan Crusted Goat Cheese & Local Beet salad and feedback was very positive. We've been vacationing on LBI for a really long time and have wanted to try Daddy-Os for a while. Well, this was the year and it did NOT disappoint. We made a reservation just to make sure we got a table and we were lucky we did because by the time our drinks came there wasn't a table left in the place. Our server got to us right away and had our drinks to us (Perfect Manhattan, Raspberry Crush, Shirley Temple, and a Cucumber Cooler) as we were ready to order. Drinks were a little pricey, but it's LBI so it's expected. I ordered the Butchers cut 8oz filet and the 44 roll - shrimp tempura roll topped with salmon avocado and eel sauce and finished with an Irish Coffee. Wifey also had a 44 Roll and a Chopped salad. My son ordered a Spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon roll and applewood bacon risotto...finishing with a Decaf espresso. Finally, my daughter had the Gulf Shrimp & Gemelli Pasta. There are lots of great places to eat on LBI, and we've found a lot of them, but if you have a chance you have to hit Daddy-Os. The food, the service and the ambiance are worth the prices read more

We've been coming to Daddy O's for years and have always had great experiences until now. We had a party of 10 and while the drinks and appetizers were great (as usual), every single entree was a disappointment. The chicken was dry, the flounder was completely tasteless, the scallops were inedible, and the mussels in the seafood pasta tasted off. The service was speedy and friendly which is often surprising for a Saturday night! Our cocktails were great! They have blue cheese stuffed olives too! For meals, we had the shrimp tacos, scallops, and the ribeye cheesesteak. These were the best scallops I have ever had - cooked perfectly and extremely fresh! Scallops are typically over cooked and too fishy, even at high end restaurants. The risotto that came with the scallops didn't have much flavor. As for there ribeye cheesesteak, it was tied with the scallops as our favorite item! The meat was cooked well, the truffle Mayo was flavorful and the bread was the perfect texture!
