I understand offices have schedules and policies, and I respect that. However, I was disappointed with the way the situation was handled. We were told the doctor could not see my daughter because they were closing at 5 PM and there was not enough time, so we had to reschedule almost 3 weeks later. What bothered me most was the way we were spoken to at the front desk. I felt the interaction lacked compassion and understanding, especially considering my daughter was in pain and had already missed school that day. We have been patients at this office for many years because Dr. Kourtsounis ("Dr. K") has always been an excellent and caring doctor. Unfortunately, I didn't know but I had a really bad cavity (almost to the point where a root canal would be required). The doctor made me very comfortable and handled me directly (not cleaned/handled by a dental hygienist). He periodically made small talk during the procedures to make sure I was alright and keep me at ease. His practice is located in Jackson Heights in one of the historic buildings. The office itself is tastefully decorated. He even has a room dedicated for kids; although I am far from being a kiddie anymore, the room would have made me comfy if I was a little tike. It did hurt a bit and I was pretty scared the dental cleaning would cause gaps in my teeth but luckily it didn't really do much and the hygienist did a good job. My teeth feel weird now like they are popping out as my tongue runs through them but thankfully the hygienist got the junk out of my teeth! The office is very plain and white once you're inside. There rows of black chairs for people to sit. Plenty of chairs. Many small plants along the windowsill. There is a $50 no show fee on the wall. Bathrooms are inside the office when you go in.
